Abstract

Mathematics plays a crucial role in daily life, and understanding basic mathematical concepts such as whole numbers is vital for students in developing problem-solving skills. Additionally, students can gain an understanding of and appreciation for the cultural values present in their community. By integrating student worksheets that are linked to culture, especially the Banjar Floating Market Culture, it is hoped that students will become more aware of the cultural elements in their surroundings. Therefore, the aim of this study is to create a problem-based student worksheets focused on whole numbers with the context of the Siring Menara Pandang Floating Market for fourth grade elementary school students that is valid, practical, and effective. The research methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the ADDIE framework for the development process. The research instruments applied include validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and evaluation tests. Validity testing was conducted by three validators, consisting of two teachers and one university lecturer. Practicality testing was carried out through student response questionnaires, while effectiveness was determined based on the results of evaluation tests. The validity test yielded a score of 3.61, categorized as highly valid. The student response questionnaires returned a score of 3.71, classified as highly practical. The evaluation test results showed an 85% success rate, categorized as effective. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the problem-based student worksheets on whole numbers for fourth grade elementary school students is deemed valid, practical, and effectiveI

Abstract

The research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data analysis techniques used in this research are test data analysis techniques and interview data analysis techniques. This study aims to analyze students' creative thinking abilities in solving open-ended problems viewed from their cognitive styles, namely reflective and impulsive. The research was conducted at MTs Ash-Shiddiqi Rejoyoso with 16 students participating. Data collection techniques included MFFT (Matching Familiar Figures Test) to determine cognitive styles and a creative thinking ability test on the topic of two-dimensional figures. two students were selected as research subjects: one reflective students categorized as "very creative" and one impulsive students categorized as "fairly creative." The results showed that reflective students demonstrated better fluency, flexibility, and originality indicators than impulsive students. Reflective students were able to provide more varied solutions, accurate calculations, and produce unique shapes. In contrast, impulsive students tended to rush in solving problems, presented fewer solution variations, and displayed lower creativity in generating novel ideas. These findings suggest that cognitive style significantly influences students' creative thinking processes. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers to design learning strategies that can accommodate students' cognitive differences and encourage optimal creative potential development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika realistik berbasis etnomatematika materi bangun ruang kelas VII SMPN 1 Praya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan design penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Pretest atau tes awal dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemampuan matematika siswa dan dilakukan sebelum pembelajaran matematika realistik berbasis etnomatematika pada kelas sampel dengan media booklet etnomatematika. Setelah pembelajaran tersebut diberikan, maka dilakukan posttest atau tes akhir untuk mengetahui kemampuan matematika siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, rata-rata pretest siswa adalah 41,43 dan rata-rata nilai posttest siswa adalah 79,47 yang berarti terdapat peningkatan dari nilai pretest dan posttest sebesar 38,03. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru dalam proses pembelajaran matematika realistik berbasis etnomatematika adalah 92,5% sedangkan hasil aktivitas siswa kelas sampel adalah 95%. Kedua hasil observasi tersebut termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Uji t dua data berpasangan memperoleh hasil nilai t yaitu 20,95. Nilai thitung tersebut berada di luar ttabel atau di luar penerimaan H0 sehingga H1 atau hipotesis alternatif diterima. Oleh karena itu, penerapan pembelajaran matematika realistik berbasis etnomatematika efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Praya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of learning behavior in terms of students' learning styles on the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 10 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Ex Post Facto research method. The population of the study consists of all eighth-grade students at SMPN 10 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 271 students across 9 classes. The sample used is class VIII E, consisting of 32 students selected using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques involved questionnaires and tests. The instruments used include a learning style questionnaire, a learning behavior questionnaire, and a mathematics learning outcomes test. The learning outcomes test administered was a post-test on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). The instruments were validated using Aiken’s V index, which showed validity with V values of 0.972 for the learning style and learning behavior questionnaires, and 0.946 for the learning outcomes test. Data analysis techniques used in this study included descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant influence of learning behavior on learning outcomes, with a contribution of 26.7%, and a positive and significant influence of learning behavior in students with a kinesthetic learning style on learning outcomes, with a contribution of 40.9%. Thus, it can be concluded that learning behavior in terms of students' learning styles has an influence on mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 10 Mataram.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that plays an important role in everyday life (Elpriska 2018). Mathematics that is related to the experiences and daily life of students can be used as an interesting source of learning. However, in reality, mathematics learning in schools has not maximally achieved its goals (Prasetia, 2016). This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using LKPD learning media based on Sasak cultural ethnomathematics on the learning outcomes of geometry material for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Mataram. The research approach used is quantitative with a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of this study is all eighth-grade students of SMPN 7 Mataram, and the sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The sample examined is eighth-grade students as the control class and VIII-F as the experimental class. The research instruments included test questions and observations. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The learning media used was the LKPD based on the ethnomathematics of Sasak culture. The results of the study indicate that the use of learning media effectively improves the learning outcomes of the geometry material of curved surface shapes for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Mataram for the 2024/2025 academic year. This effectiveness is indicated by (1) an increase in the average learning outcomes of the experimental class of 0.8613 which is in the high category; (2) a significant difference in the average math learning outcomes between the control and experimental classes based on the independent sample t-test where t count = 5.861 > 2.005 =

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low mathematical problem-solving skills, the lack of innovative learning models, and the limited use of technology in learning media. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of a problem-based learning model assisted by digital student worksheets on students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. This quasi-experimental research involved all eighth-grade students at one of the junior high schools in mataram city. The sample consisted of class VIII A as the experimental class, which received PBL with digital worksheets, and class VIII B as the control class, which received PBL with printed worksheets. Data were collected using a mathematical problem-solving test and analyzed using a t-test and effect size. The results showed that the use of digital worksheets had a significant effect on students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The average score of the experimental class increased from 47.75 (pretest) to 70.12 (posttest), while the control class increased from 49.46 to 62.05. The t-test showed that   at a 0.05 significance level. The effect size was 0.71, categorized as large, indicating that the applied model and media were effective. This study shows that digital worksheets in problem-based learning can enhance students’ problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the mathematical representation ability of students taught using the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) learning model with LKPD media is better than that of students taught using the direct instruction model at SMPN 7 Mataram. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The population consisted of eighth-grade students at SMPN 7 Mataram, with the sample comprising 42 students from class VIII-J as the experimental group and 42 students from class VIII-I as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental class was taught using the SFE learning model, while the control class received direct instruction. Data were collected through a mathematical representation ability test. The results of the t-test showed that ​, namely 7.04002 > 1.664, indicating that  was accepted. This means that the average mathematical representation ability of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Based on these results, it can be concluded that students who received instruction using the SFE model had better mathematical representation abilities compared to those who received direct instruction.

Abstract

The use of media in the learning process greatly affects students' learning outcomes. Geogebra can visualize geometric concepts as a learning medium. This research aims to develop a website-based learning media assisted by Geogebra to improve student learning outcomes on geometry material, specifically parallel lines and angles for the 8th grade at SMPN 2 Kuripan, which is valid and practical. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, which includes the define stage, design stage, develop stage, and disseminate stage. The results from the questionnaires, interviews, and post-test learning outcomes were analyzed for validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research results show that the developed media (1) is valid with very valid criteria; (2) practical with very practical criteria; (3) the learning outcomes of students using the Geogebra website are better than those of students who do not use the website as a medium. Based on the research, it can be said that the developed media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The low scores of students in the Mathematics End-of-Semester Summative Assessment are due to the suboptimal use of learning media, especially digital-based media. This research aims to determine the effect of PowerPoint media assisted by GeoGebra on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in One-Variable Linear Equation material. This research is classified as quantitative research, using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of study were all eighth-grade students, consisting of 17 individuals. The research instruments used were pre-test and post-test questions with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test analysis method. The results showed that students’ learning outcomes after learning using PowerPoint assisted by GeoGebra obtained an average pre-test score of 47.3 and an average post-test score of 56.2. This indicates a fairly significant improvement. The use of PowerPoint media made students more focused on observing classroom learning and increased their enthusiasm for learning. GeoGebra helped students understand the graphical form of one-variable linear equation solutions and helped them validate the answers they had calculated independently using known solution rules. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of PowerPoint media assisted by GeoGebra affects the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in mathematics learning on one-variable linear equation material.

Abstract

Based on the initial study, the mathematical problem-solving ability and mathematical disposition of eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year are classified as low. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical disposition on mathematical problem-solving ability. The method used is quantitative with a comparative causal type (ex-post facto). The study population was 436 students, and a sample of 78 students was selected through a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were a mathematical disposition questionnaire and a mathematical problem-solving ability test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed i) most students had high mathematical disposition (39 students); ii) most students had very high mathematical problem-solving ability (29 students); iii) most had high mathematical disposition with very high problem-solving ability (16 students). Based on a simple linear regression analysis, the equation   , was obtained. This means that every 1 increase in mathematical disposition value will cause the mathematical problem-solving ability value to increase by 0.304. Hypothesis testing shows a significant influence between mathematical disposition and mathematical problem-solving ability. The coefficient of determination  value is 0.289, indicating that mathematical disposition contributes 28.9%.
