Abstract

The times and needs of students require adjustments in the education system. The Merdeka Curriculum is a way out of this problem by providing space for students to learn according to their interests and learning styles. In its implementation, differentiated learning is the main approach which aims to create a fun and meaningful learning experience, especially in essential material such as biology. This research aims to determine the application of differentiated learning in biology lessons at the high school level. Using descriptive qualitative methods, the research was conducted from October to November 2024 involving several biology teachers at Banten Province High Schools as samples. Data was collected through structured interviews based on instruments prepared in accordance with the research objectives. The research results show that differentiated learning has been implemented by adapting learning models and methods to student characteristics. This differentiation approach has a positive impact on teachers and students, such as increasing student activity and more effective understanding of the material and freedom for teachers to adjust learning. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on student motivation and the challenges teachers face, both from internal and external classroom factors. Therefore, evaluation is the key to improving the quality of learning for better education in the future.

Abstract

Spermatogenesis is a complex process influenced by various factors, including nutrition and bioactive compounds from natural sources. Salak Bali fruit (Salacca zalacca Var. Amboinensis) is known to contain antioxidant compounds that may support male reproductive health, particularly in enhancing testicular cell count. This study aims to analyze the effect of salak Bali fruit extract on the testicular cell count of male mice (Mus musculus L.). This research employed an experimental design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 24 healthy male mice divided into four treatment groups. The control group (K) received only distilled water, while the treatment groups were administered salak Bali fruit extract at doses of 200 mg/kg BW (P1), 400 mg/kg BW (P2), and 600 mg/kg BW (P3) for 35 days. Data analysis was conducted using a one-way ANOVA test, followed by a post hoc test if a significant difference was found (p < 0.05). The results indicated that the treatment groups exhibited a higher average testicular cell count compared to the control group. The most optimal increase was observed in the group receiving a 600 mg/kg BW dose (P3). This suggests that the bioactive compounds in salak Bali fruit may play a role in enhancing the spermatogenesis process.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of using the Team Games Tournament learning model combined with Wordwall media on student motivation and learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative type of quasi-experimental research. This research design uses a Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all students in class XI MIPA at SMAN 10 Makassar, consisting of 8 classes with 254 students. The sampling technique is random sampling, namely random sampling where all classes have the same possibility of being sampled. Class XI MIPA II as an experimental class had 22 students and class XI MIPA VI as a control class had 22 students. The data analysis techniques used in this research are descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis in the form of normality, homogeneity and independent hypothesis testing t - tests. The results of this study show that there is a difference in the questionnaire scores in the experimental class, which is in the high category with an average of 91 and in the control class, it is in the sufficient category with an average of 58 and the learning outcomes scores of experimental class students are with an average of 85.55 and The average in the control class is 77.55, where the learning outcomes of experimental class students are higher than those in the control class. It can be seen by looking at the results of the hypothesis test which shows a sig value < ɑ with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the results of data analysis, there are two main conclusions. First, the combination of the Team Games Tournament learning model with Wordwall media significantly increases students' learning motivation on endocrine system material. Second, this combination also has a positive and significant impact on student learning outcomes. A significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) indicates that this model is effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes

Abstract

Indonesia is a center of biodiversity, including the green betel plant (Piper betle L) which has long been used in traditional traditions and medicine. This study aims to identify the use of green betel leaves, the types of diseases treated and the processing methods as traditional medicine by local people in Serang Jaya Hilir Village, Pematang Jaya District, Langkat Regency. The study was conducted in four hamlets of Serang Jaya Hilir Village with a qualitative research type using a quantitative descriptive method. In this study, the selection of respondents was carried out using the purposive sampling method, meaning that the data taken was based on community understanding related to the use of green betel leaves as traditional medicine, consisting of 10 respondents. The data is presented in the form of tables and graphs with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that people use green betel leaves to treat 10 types of diseases, including vaginal discharge, eye irritation, itching, bad breath, body odor, toothache, stomachache, cough, strengthening teeth, and nosebleeds. The method of processing and using betel leaves varies according to the type of disease, such as boiling, chewing, pounding, or rolling. Leucorrhea is the most frequently mentioned complaint, indicating public trust in the effectiveness of green betel leaves in traditional medicine. This study is important as education regarding the safe use and preservation of green betel leaf resources so that they remain sustainable. Suggestions, the need for further scientific studies on the active content, and side effects of green betel leaves, as well as innovation of processed products so that their use is safer and wider.
