Abstract

The conflict of religion is fundamentally caused by understanding and perception. This paper aims to build objectivity of thinking in understanding hadith, so as not to fall into a radical and liberal understanding. With this, the researcher explores the hermeneutics of hadith as construction in religious moderation thinking. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. By taking reference sources from books, and scientific articles related to hadith hermeneutics using Google Sholar and other websites. The data analysis technique is reading, critically analyzing and drawing conclusions. The findings in this study show that hadith hermeneutics can be positioned as a construct of religious moderation thinking because in hadith hermeneutics there is critical thinking, comprehensive thinking and comparative thinking. These three thoughts are the urgency in understanding the arguments in the midst of religious communities, between religions and nations. ABSTRAKKonflik suatu agama secara fundamental disebabkan oleh pemahaman dan persepsi. Abstract

Constantinople is the most important city in the world, it was founded in 330 AD by the Byzantine emperor, Constantine I. The city has a number one position internationally. Since its founding, the Byzantines have made it the capital of their country. Therefore, Muhammad Al-fatih tried to be able to conquer Constantinople in order to realize the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad "Really, Constantinople will be conquered under the leadership of men, so the best leader is the leader (who conquers) it, and the best troops is the army (which conquered it). The efforts made by Muhammad Al-fatih in conquering the city have been designed in such a way. So that his political strategy in conquering Constantine could run well, until finally he succeeded in conquering the dream city. There are three things that gave rise to a great desire for the heroes of ancient Islam to conquer Constantinople. First, because of the encouragement of faith in Allah which was encouraged by the hadith of the Prophet SAW. Second, because for hundreds of years the city of Constantinople was the center of the splendor of the Romans. Third, because of the beauty of the country and its very strategic location, the connection between two major continents, Europe and Asia.ABSTRAKKonstantinopel merupakan kota terpenting di dunia, tempat ini didirikan pada tahun 330 M oleh kaisar Bizantium, Constantine I. Kota ini memiliki posisi nomor satu secara internasional.

Abstract

One of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Quraish Shihab's books on archipelago interpretation is titled Tafsir al-Misbah and was authored in Indonesian. It took almost four years to complete, from 1999 to 2002. This interpretation book has added a treasure of interpretation in the Archipelago.  It needs to be examined because its author is an expert on interpretation in Indonesia. Besides, he is one of the contemporary scholars. Therefore, this study examines the author’s personality of al-Misbah interpretation book and examines its methodology in interpreting Qur’an, whether he uses the methodology of al-Ma'thur, al-Ra'y or al-Isyari in terms of sources the reference, or he uses the tahlili, al-muqarrin, al-Ijmali and al-Maudhu'i methods in terms of delivery. This article also seeks to ascertain the author's preferred method of interpretation, such as al-Fiqhi, al-adab al-Lughawi, al-adab al-Ijtima'i, etc. This study, which employs library technique, discovers that the al-Ma'thur and al-ra'yi methods, which are excellent for referencing, are used in this commentary book, whereas the tahlili method is used for delivery. It leans toward the interpretation of al-Adab al-Ijtima'i. This interpretation excels in discussing both language and the munasabah (appropriateness of the arrangement) of verses and surahs in the Qur'an.

Abstract

One of the uslubs or language styles mentioned in the Quran for expressing its sacred messages is question and answer (sual wa jawab), where a question is followed by its answer. This style of language has certainly attracted the attention of many parties, especially the scholars of the Quran, or mufassirin, whose thoughts and expertise are in direct contact with the holy words, as well as Arabic linguists, especially those related to balaghah. Scholars' perspectives on revealing the secrets of these questions and answers differ according to their scientific backgrounds, but all of them appear to be urgent in order to strengthen our awareness of the truth of the Divine Word that Allah revealed to His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). The questions and answers (uslub) implicitly seem like an extremely important style or learning method to be applied in communicating with other parties. Among the forms of questions and answers (uslub) in the Qur'an that are interesting to observe is "uslub al-hakim," which is literally interpreted as the style of a wise man. This article discusses some of the general characteristics of usul al-Quran.It also describes specific types of Quranic questions and answers. Hence, it aims to be a blessing for us in this life.

Abstract

The problem in this paper is the number of expressions used by the Qur'an to refer to the word arrogant, namely takabburan, marahan, 'uluwwan, 'utuwwan, ashiru, jabbāran, and mukhtālan, which are different expressions in terms of words but have the same meaning, namely arrogance. This raises the question, "What is the difference between these different expressions?" The discussion in this paper employs the tafsir mawdhu'i method, with library research, to collect verses of the Qur'an that have the same meaning in the sense that they both discuss one topic of the problem. The data used are verses of the Qur'an, books of Tafsir, the Arabic Dictionary, Mu'jam, and secondary sources in the form of books by several scholars. Furthermore, the author provides information and explanations before concluding. The results of the study of the words are that the six words in question have meanings that are almost the same as one another but with different contexts and purposes. Takabburan is the arrogance of man towards Allah by not believing and bowing down to Allah. 'Uluwwan is the arrogance of man on earth, manifested by committing injustice. 'Marahan is being arrogant while walking, or walking with pride. The word mukhtālan is the same as delusion, the feeling that one has advantages (such as wealth) over others, turning one's face and cheeks away when talking to others. The word jabbāran refers to being proud of one's parents and not being devoted to them. The phrase takabburān occurs 48 times, the phrase 'uluwwan occurs 8 times, the phrase jabbāran occurs 3 times, the phrase mukhtālan occurs 3 times, the phrase marahan occurs 2 times, and the phrase asyiru occurs 2 times.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an was revealed by Allah SWT in Arabic, which has a very beautiful language structure. To understand the meaning contained therein, the Qur'an must be read well and correctly. Reading the Qur'an well and correctly is inseparable from the reading rules contained in the science of tajweed. In addition, the Prophet also recommended reading the Qur'an with a good and beautiful voice. Because one of the elements of the perfection of the Qur'an is reading it well and beautifully. In the current context, reading the Qur'an in a good and beautiful way can also be termed nagham Qur'an or known as the art of reading the Qur'an. But in this case, the term is not fully applied by Qur'an readers. This causes some Qur'anic readers to ignore the rules of Qur'anic recitation. Referring to these problems, nagham Qur'an and the history of its development presumably require a special study, with the focus of the study being on the meaning of nagham and the history of its development. The method used in explaining this study is a qualitative method with an analytical, descriptive approach. Based on the focus of the study, the term nagham has the same meaning as talhin and tarannum, namely, reading the Qur'an with a beautiful voice while still applying the rules of tajweed. Reading the Qur'an with nagham began with the Prophet Muhammad and has been carried on by his companions and subsequent generations.

Abstract

Hadith is the second source of Islamic law after the Quran. Hadith was sourced from an interpretation of the practices of the deeds, words, and actions of Rasulullah SAW, as well as the application of Islamic teachings that are carried out in a factual and ideal manner. Muslims are expected to follow, apply, and practice it in their daily lives. Life needs humour; even humour and laughter are human nature that God has destined for humans. Humour is permissible in Islam; many texts of the Qur'an and Hadith allow it, and even the Prophet himself often joked and laughed with his companions. There are several reasons that the Messenger of Allah allowed reasonable humour, among them: being within limits and natural, not having lies, not insulting or slighting fellow Muslims, being far from fear and threats, knowing and being fit for the situation and conditions, and being within acceptable limits of common sense.

Abstract

The order of the verses and their coherence has been debated among orientalists in qur’anic structure studies. This article aims to reveal the coherence of the surah Adz-Dzariyat questioned by Richard Bell regarding the correlation between the verses in the surah. The method of analyzing this surah is Semitic Rhetorical Analysis (SRA), utilizing the verses’ symmetry explanations from Muslim scholars’ interpretations. This library research adopts descriptive and content analysis methods for analyzing data. As a result of the study, Surah adz-Dzariyat consists of two passages and seven parts in mirror construction based on Semitic Rhetoric principles. The relationship between the verses shows their coherence and excellent verse order without jumpy arrangements. Several groups of verses that at first appeared to be irregular became orderly and had a specific connection that could be understood through Semitic Rhetoric principles. This analysis strengthens the miracles of the Qur’an and refutes various opinions that doubt how good the order of the verses of the Qur’an is.

Abstract

Tafsir al-Mizan is known as one of the main tafsir books among the Shi'a scholars. However, the book is read and analyzed by groups other than Shi'a scholars. Sunni scholars, too, use this tafsir book to help them understand the verses of the Quran. This article will explore the factors that make al-Mizan's interpretation accepted by Sunni scholars and examine the characteristics of the book of Tafsir al-Mizan, such as the method of interpretation, the style of interpretation, and the scholars of interpretation. This study showed that the interpreter is an adherent of the Shi'a Itsna Ashariah scholars, so some of his interpretations tend toward Shi'a thought in certain matters, such as the issue of the imamate. However, in general, this interpretation is not only a reference for adherents and the Shi'a scholars but is also used as reading material by Muslims of the Sunni scholars. The specialty of the interpretation lies in the strength of the interpreter who displays it, which is primarily derived from the Qur'an itself. As a scholar with a great soul, he took many sources of interpretation from previous books of tafsir, even from scholars other than Shi'a. As for the source of the interpretation of the hadith, it comes more from the books of hadith among the Shi'a.

Abstract

This simple article discusses the concept of naskh and its division in Qur'anic studies. The study of naskh has become increasingly important, not only in ulumul Qur'an but also extending to other Shari'ah disciplines, including the science of ushul fiqh, which concentrates on the discovery of legal arguments and methods of istinbath Shari'ah law. This article argues for the importance of reviewing the study of naskh by placing maqashid scales as a parameter on the fulfillment of benefits and harms, especially with regard to the classification of naskh and the distribution of examples. The author uses the literature study method in this research by referring to motherbooks in classical ulumul Qur'an studies as well as various contemporary references, including recent scientific journal articles, in order to discuss the issue of the concept of naskh in the review of fiqh maqashid studies and debate the long-circulating shubhat views surrounding the study of naskh. The results of the study show that the division of the kinds of naskh by rasm and tilawah as narrated in 'ulumul Qur'an into three forms - according to the review of Fiqh Maqashid - is unacceptable, because it opens the door to doubt and even skepticism about the Book of Allah, therefore such a model of naskh division must be rejected to realize a greater and greater benefit in maintaining this religion and maintaining the sanctity and authenticity of the Qur'an.
