Abstract

The issue of equity and equality between men and women is one of the most serious problems and challenges that Muslims have faced in the modern era. Islam and Muslims are not only challenged to prove that their doctrine, as mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah, shows that egalitarianism is their main value, but they also should prove it in real life. However, it must be demonstrated not only through normative means as mentioned in its doctrine or history, but also by answering many contemporary challenges to the concept of equality between men and women today. This article examines the concept of egalitarianism from an Islamic perspective as found in the Qur'an.By using library research methods, it examines the further meaning of egalitarianism from an Al-Qur'anic perspective.

Abstract

Persuasive da'wah is a da'wah that is carried out in a gentle and warm way. Not all da'i can apply persuasive da'wah to their mad'unya. Some da'i still exist who preach using language that does not touch the heart. This paper aims to find out how persuasive preaching was carried out by the prophets Moses and Aaron against Fir'aun. This paper uses the countenance analysis method, which analyzes the meaning of Surah Thaha, verse 44, of the Qur'an using the theory of persuasive da'wah. The results showed that the Al-Quran Surah Thaha, verse 44, reveals the story of Prophet Moses and Prophet Aaron preaching to Pharaoh in a gentle way even though Pharaoh knew that he was a despotic king and disobeyed Allah. The term "qaulan layyina" has a meaning that is gentle, pleasant to hear, touches the heart, and reassures the mind. Prophet Moses and Prophet Aaron have done persuasive da'wah with several methods, namely: the association method, integration, payoff, fear-arousing, and icing methods. This was done in the hope that Pharaoh would be touched by his heart and fear Allah so that he would believe in

Abstract

Imam Abu Jaafar at-Thabari, may Allah have mercy on him, is the only well-known reference in the study of the interpretation of bil Ma'tsur because of his ability to interpret the Qur'an, guided mainly by the good narrations of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), his sahaba (may Allah be pleased with him), the tabiin, and tabi' tabiin, so that the scholars from generations to generations have made Imam Abu Jaafar at-Thabari the supreme teacher of the Mufassir. This qualitative research seeks to better understand Imam Abu Jaafar at-Thabari's thoughts by conducting library research and collecting data from various literatures. The results of the study prove that Imam Abu Jaafar at-Thabari and his interpretation book, Jami` al-Bayan: Verses of Qur’an Interpretation, can be a major foothold in the development of Al-Qur'an interpretation throughout the world. In terms of method, he prioritizes the interpretation of bil ma'tsur because it is more postulated and precise in uncovering the secrets of the contents of the Qur'an. It is a guide to solving various problems for people.

Abstract

The seven grades (Marataib al-Sab’ah) very closed associated with Muhammad Fadhl Allah al-Burhanpuri, an Indian Sufi scholar through his Tuhfah al-Mursalah ila Ruh al-Nabi. Written di Arabic Tuhfah al-Mursalah’s circled around India and also popularize in Mecca Madina and Malay word afterward.  Burhanpuri and Tuhfah al-Mursalah many times mention in numerous manuscripts written in Arab Jawi, which identified from his principles mostly from ‘alam jawi (Nusantara) around 16-17 century. Some of them Shams al-Din al-Sumatra’i, Hamzah al-Fansuri, Nur al-Din al-Raniry and ‘Abd al-Ra’uf al-Singkili. Afterward, these principles, identically Maratib al-Sab’ah in Malay world known as Martabat Tujuh. The main point suggested by Burhanpuri, an explaration toward Ibn ‘Arabi’s idea wahdah al-wujud. Abstract

Abdullah Saeed introduced the concept of contextual findings, which he termed contextualization, by establishing a structured and systematic framework of values. This framework consists of four key steps: first, preliminary considerations; second, initiating completion; third, understanding the text's meaning; and fourth, connecting the text to the present context. In light of this, researchers delved into the awareness of contextualization, focusing on verses from the book Fathul Qulub, based on instructors in the IMM Sukoharjo cadre program. The purpose of this study was to discern a contextualized comprehension of the verses from the Fathul Qulub book within the IMM Sukoharjo cadre program. This research employed a qualitative approach, conducting field research. The participants were intermediate instructors within the IMM Sukoharjo cadre program, and the object of the study was to find verses in the Fathul Qulub book. The findings of the study revealed that instructors' interpretations of the Fathul Qulub book's verses did not align with Abdullah Saeed's contextual interpretation steps. Instead, instructors tended to directly proceed to the fourth step without completing the necessary preceding steps. This meant skipping the crucial step of linking the text's interpretation to the current context, specifically in terms of the cadre or organization. Even at this fourth step, the contextualization was not fully in line with Abdullah Saeed's theory.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss black magic (sihir) from the perspective of Tafsir scholars. The method used in this article is literature review with a hermeneutic approach, also known as tafsir maudhu'i. With this method, the author conducts various steps, including collecting literature and verses with the theme of magic in the Quran, collecting hadiths with the theme of magic, and also using dictionaries as tools to find the etymological use for black magic. The results of this study show that the tafsir scholars have agreed on the sinful practice of black magic, so they suggest staying away from themselves, their families, and loved ones rather than this great slander and harm that has swallowed up many people. Even if we are rich and happy because of black magic, it really is not comparable to the poverty and suffering that will be accepted in the hereafter.

Abstract

The complete negation of misogynistic hadiths towards women is still not possible due to a textual and non-comprehensive understanding of the hadiths. This article aims to address this issue by presenting an analysis of Quraish Shihab's interpretation of the hadith regarding the creation of Eve from Adam's curved rib bone and differentiating his view from several other commentators. Using a literature review approach, this study shows that the term "curved rib bone" is not intended to disrespect women but merely as an illustration. Philosophically, the curved rib symbolizes women's inherent nature, which, when hardened, makes it difficult for men to straighten it out. This depiction aims to make men aware of and understand women's nature and to develop a wise attitude towards them. Quraish Shihab's ideas can be a recommendation for understanding hadiths with misogynistic nuances so that biases in understanding and actions towards women can be minimized effectively.

This means that hadith covers all aspects of activities that can be used as a reference, including education and the sciences that it encompasses. The problem in the world of education today is that teachers and students are forced to use a limited range of learning methods.
