Abstract

The aim of this activity was  to training the manufacture of virgin coconut oil (VCO) with a without heating method to the community, especially the mother-housewife, resident of RT 12, Pematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu, Bengkulu. As for the specific targets to be achieved in this activity was for the women, especially mothers, resident of RT 12 has the ability to produce VCO at least for their family, so that can improve the health and well-being of their family. The method used in achieving this goal was by lecture, discussion and practice of making VCO so that these activities target communities to be better understand the method of making VCO and can practice it theirself at home respectively  Keywords: Virgin Coconut Oil, without heating method, public health

Abstract

This activity aims to provide knowledge to teacher of elementary school about learning of mathematic PAKEM by using tool kit of KPK and FPB box in district of Pondok Kelapa and the manufacture technique, to motivate the teacher in order to create an innovative and creative mathematic learning media for the students. The training used the various methods such as workshop, demonstration, question and answer, discussion, guiding duties, monitoring and evaluation. The audiences in this activity were the teachers of SD N 10 Pondok Kelapa and SD N 2 Pondok Kelapa Central Bengkulu. Before the activity, the teacher knowledge about mathematic PAKEM was relatively less that only 9,1% know it, After the activity the ability and skill of the teacher in making the teaching toolbox of  KPK and FPB is good (83%), They produced this props with good results and can be applied to mathematic subject. The teacher's motivation to participate in this training is good (positive responses of participants in questionnaire by 95%). Keywords: learning of mathematic PAKEM, KPK and FPB box, elementary school.

Abstract

IbM community service aims to help villagers to make coconut drying machine. This dryer can help people in the processing a crops product with high water content quality, hygienic, short time and are not dependent on climate or weather. This machine mechanism can help the farmers in processing coconut plantations product, especially in the process of drying the crop so that sale value of dried coconut is high and incomes become increase. In the previous drying method, the coconut is drying by the open system where as the method is dependent on natural and climatic conditions. This is very detrimental to the community because of losses in terms of drying time, the water quality and higyenis product is low and other unsecured cause dry oil prices to be low. By using a drying machine the drying time is shorter, water content and quality of drying can be controlled and hygiene will also be maintained. Increased levels of water quality and hygiene product drying will make the selling price of coconut increases. Increased selling prices will impact on people's incomes so that the welfare of society for the better copra producer. In addition to the increase in people's income, it is a national issue of poverty alleviation, employment generation and application of new technology-based products in the country will be met. This community service is done at the Village Pasar Pedati and Village Harapan District of Pondok Kelapa through training how to make the dryer machine so that people can make this tool in order to increase their income as both a producer of copra with maintained quality as well and the creator of this drying machine. From the results of devotion performed shows that the people be able to make the dryer machine with a drying time of wet coconut weighing 1.4 kg to 1 kg within 7 hours, the water content of 40% decreased to 28% and an average temperature of 65ºC. Keywords: dried coconut drier machine, solar energy

Abstract

The population of cattle and goats, in Tugu Rejo village, is poorly developed, characterized by lower calf cow production, prolonged calving/kidding interval. The main problem identified from Tugu Rejo Village is the lack of knowledge of farmers on breeding and feed management. The purpose of this activity was to improve farmer knowledge about reproductive and feeding management  through an extension and guidance to the farmers. The results of the activity can increase knowledge breeding management, about prevention of distocia, arrangement of cross breeding, prevention of inbreeding for goats. To improve the efficiency of breeding, breeders should be able to utilize breeding diagrams to regulate the mating system in livestock and feeding management during lactation. Keyword: management, reproductive, feed, livestock

Abstract

This community service aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of the fishermen community of Pantai Jakat Bengkulu city in using gas fuel converted from liquid fuel. The community service was conducted in the form of a traning. The activities involved the fishermen in installing the converter kit of a gas fuel; trying out the genset which used the gas fuel; and evaluating the performance of the genset. After the training, the participant were asked to give opinion about the possibility of using the converted gas in their day to day fishing activities. The results of the training showed that the fishermen have a positive responses toward the use of the gas fuel for the genset. However, they still have some worries toward the safety of using the converted gas fuel.  Keywords: Genset, Gas Fuel

Abstract

The concept of Sustainable Food House (KRPL) is a farming concept that mobilizes farmer groups to provide daily food needs or produce it for market. Partner Group Two is a group of Panorama women farmers who have succeeded in running KRPL but in observation of Unihaz Service Team of Panorama women farmer group which is implementing this program still use conventional farming concept by using chemical fertilizer. The results of the devotion program has provided an understanding of the importance of organic cultivation, especially Lettuce plant and then followed by cultivation of organic lettuce cultivation by using bokhasi organic fertilizer from Mitra One. One partner group is a group of women farmers who live in oil palm plantations and since 2014 has been accompanied to become producers of agricultural waste bokhasi of rural chicken waste and palm plantation waste. Both agricultural wastes, which is the main raw material for making bokhasi, is available sustainably in their area of residence, so it can become a business opportunity. The dedication program that has been implemented is the consolidation program as a producer of bokhasi, packaging improvement, bokhasi product sales, bokhasi house improvement and KRPL concept adobsi from partner two. The purpose of IbM program for Mitra Satu has been successfully supplied bokhasi especially to partner two and can adopt KRPL technology which has been implemented by Mita Dua. The objective of IbM program for Mitra Dua has been to successfully carry out organic cultivation on vegetable crops, especially organic slaves that are environmentally friendly and healthier for consumers. The ultimate goal of both programs is to successfully produce healthy organic farm products for consumers by utilizing agricultural waste into the main raw material of bokhasi so that it becomes a productive economic business opportunity for both partners. Keywords: organic cultivation, bokhasi, KRPL, productive economy

Abstract

The training and introduction of MAPLE is aimed to improving SMA Negeri 8 Kota Bengkulu students' logic and analysis ability to solve math problems. The steps taken are to prepare syllabus and MAPLE training material module that can be used as reference in the implementation of coaching, then carry out training for one month. From the pre-test and post-test results it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from the learning result before and after knowing and using MAPLE. The average post-test score is much greater when compared with the student's pre-test score. Paired sample testing gives a t-value of 24,079 with p-value 0.000. It can be concluded that the average pre-test and post-test values are significantly different. This means that the introduction and training of MAPLE in SMA Negeri 8 gives a real influence on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: MAPLE Training, Mathematics

Abstract

Community Service Activities for Residual Diversification of Processed Products Home Industry Syrup Kalamansi in Bengkulu Tengah has been completed. This activity aims to reduce the residual volume of unused Kalamansi syrup yields, the production of high value essential oils and various essential and economically valuable essential oil-based citrus oil products. In this activity we have conducted training on the way of extraction of essential oil from citrus peel residue and crude fiber (dregs) leftover of Kalamansi syrup using direct steam distillation method, followed by training of various essential oil based health products in form of aromatherapy roll oil, and Antiseptic liquid soap. From the results of the activities that have been done, the essential oil from the residue of Kalamansi syrup made of clear liquid smelling orange Kalamansi. It has also been produced several products made from active essential oil of orange Kalamansi such as wind oil roll on, liquid bath soap, lotion and liquid washing soap. The four products have a typical citrus scent Kalamansi, but need to be refined formula to produce a quality product and selling value. Keywords: Citrus Kalamansi, Steam Distillation, essential oils, wind aromatheraphy oil.

Abstract

Community service activity aims to introduce and teach counting method of finger (jarimatika) as an alternative method of counting to complete the multiplication operation on the fourth grade students at SD Negeri 79 Kota Bengkulu. Counting method can be used to improve student learning outcomes in completing multiplication operations. This method can provide visualization of counting process, cheer up the child, not burdening the memory of the brain, and the tool is always taken. In addition, this method will make learning activities more fun so that the students become eager in learning. Based on the results of the dedication activities undertaken, it can be concluded that this activity is able to provide knowledge and skills to students of Class IV SDN 79 Kota Bengkulu about jarimatika method. Almost all students are very enthusiastic and interested in following this guidance activity although this jarimatika method is relatively new to them. In addition, this activity can improve students learning motivation and improve students’ numeracy skills especially in multiplication operations. Keywords: Counting, Jarimatika, Mathematics
