Machining process is part of the production process where cutting process of work piece is done by using machine tools. Machine tools are used in the machining process includes lathe machines, milling machines, shaping machines, drilling machines and other machine tools. For a cylindrical work piece the cutting process can be done by using a lathe. Lathe process can make cylindrical objects, holes, taper and other forms. In the cutting process of work piece with a lathe machine are required high accuracy and precision especially for work piece such as shafts , pistons and objects that serve as a connecting other components. Work piece with high accuracy and precision can be obtained by use the reliable of machine tools, cutting condition, the selection of machining elements and material of cutting tools; operators have a skill for operation of machine tools. Cutting conditions such as mounting work pieces that are not center (run out) or overhang of work piece with strong pressure between head stock and tail stock can be resulting deflection. Run out and deflection happened can be cause the cutting force is not uniform. Therefore cause damage to the work piece and machine. Damage on the work piece can be seen from the quality of the cutting (surface roughness) and for machine on the case of chatter or vibration arising from the cutting force. In this paper we will focus to determine the effect of cutting tools material and run out of material on the surface roughness where as machining element used is the depth of cut and feeding. Work piece used is made of medium carbon steel.

One of the company's efforts in implementing the commitment to customer satisfaction is carried out through continuous improvement activities. All indicators are evaluated to determine the level of quality stability against process variations that will impact non-compliance with predetermined product specifications. One of the quality problems found in the tire manufacture industry is the out-percentage of tire uniformity, which suddenly increases, one of which is the value of static balance. This study analyses the process variation factors that occur to take corrective and preventive actions through a series of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Refers to the analysis result, it was found that there was a problem with the rubber film gauge variation at the manufacturing step of the steel breaker, one of the material components in the tire construction. Two main factors cause rubber film thickness variation: rubber sticky with roll calendar, Radial Run Out (RRO) Roll Calendar out standard, and viscosity compound variation with 12 root problems found. The results of the improvements that have been made can effectively improve rubber film thickness variation, increase the Cpk level of steel breaker material from 0.82 to 1.91 and reduce the out percentage ratio of static balance by 54.65%.

This study aimed to determine the level of mental workload and psychosocial factors of nurses at the executive level in in-patient rooms of a military hospital. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 41 nurses who served in the in-patient rooms. Measurement of mental workload was carried out using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration - Task-Load Index (Nasa-TLX) questionnaire. Measurement of psychosocial factors was carried out using the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ II) questionnaire. The results showed that the average value of the overall mental workload was in the high category. The value of psychosocial factors in the work environment shows good results on the majority of the rating scales. However, the hospital needed to pay attention to several factors, such as emotional demands, health perceptions, fatigue and stress and work pace. The results of this study also showed a strong and significant positive relationship between the dimensions of management's trust and performance with r=0.545(p=0.000). Thus, it is recommended that hospital management not only assess the performance of nurses, but also periodically assess mental workload and psychosocial factors in order to create a conducive work environment

Customer satisfaction is one of the main factors that must be considered by every company to compete in the global market. One way to increase customer satisfaction is to reduce defective products and reduce waste. This method is a continuous improvement that must be carried out by every manufacturing industry. The Musical Instrument Industry is one of the producers of electronic musical instruments such as pianos. The production process has occurred several problems such as low product quality and waste (ineffective processes, inappropriate layouts, overproduction, and poor production quality). The biggest problem with this company is the large number of products that are not following company standards, such as not achieving quality standards and production not achieving targets. To improve the quality of its production, companies need to make the production process streamlined so that it will create a more effective and efficient production line. A balance between effectiveness and efficiency can be made by reducing waste. Lean Six Sigma is an approach that focuses on improving quality and eliminating waste and sustainable strategy to improve product quality while reducing waste. The company's strategy to be able to compete in the global market must be able to improve product quality and eliminate waste. This study aims to improve product quality and analyze the effect of improving quality on waste. The method used is Lean Six Sigma with dynamo stages, namely pre-study, measurement, analysis, and implementation. The results showed that the quality of the product had increased. Quality improvement has a significant effect on waste.
