Abstract

Completing His work is the duty of every believer who serves God with the main task of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God. The fact is that there are still believers who serve God without having the right understanding and motivation, one of which is only to pursue material things. As a result, many believers specifically those who are called to be servants of God resign or quit the ministry for worldly reasons. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning, methods, and authority in 'finishing God's work' according to John 4: 34 so that believers who are called as servants of God have the right understanding and view and are able to implement it in real life. The method used is a qualitative method that focuses on a literature review. The results of the study are: First, the meaning of completing His work is a perfect act that has been carried out by the Lord Jesus, but continues, so that Jesus wants His work to be done by every believer with confidence and sincerity. Second, the way to accomplish His work is to do His will, by bringing souls to God. Third, the authority to complete His work only from God who sent.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in Christianity that reject the implementation of fasting, differences in the concept of implementing fasting, a less firm basis in understanding fasting in the Christian concept, and wrong motives in carrying out fasting. Through qualitative research methods and descriptive analysis through literature studies, specifically the text of the Book of Joel 2:12-17. The results of the analysis show that Joel 2:12-17 calls for fasting with the first principle: following the word of God because God is merciful and merciful, God is long-suffering and abundant in faithfulness. Second, turn to God with all your heart, cry and moan. Third, tear the heart and Fourth humble yourself. Thus there is a restoration of the relationship between man and God and a focus on God's will, all of which straighten out the wrong practice of fasting.

Abstract

Authority is always attached to a leader, including church leaders. However, the problem is that there are some leaders who abuse authority for their own interests. There are also other leaders who cannot use an authority in determining doctrinal and ethical matters. Therefore, this study aims to explain the authority of the disciples to bind and release the law in Matthew 16:19 and its implications for today's church leaders. This research method is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach based on a literature study. The results of the study show that the authority was given by God to expand His kingdom on earth so church leaders must use this gift for His glory and improve the quality of the congregation that God has entrusted to him.

Abstract

Sin is an attitude that destroys human life (Ps. 32: 3-4; 51: 4, 7). Since the fall of the first man in the garden of Eden, all humans have been under the bondage of sin (Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12-14). Over time, all attempts at repair fail and one error leads to another (Isa. 64:6; Rom. 3:10-12). Various issues regarding the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit as an unpardonable sin have caused anxiety in the hearts of believers because they think they have committed the sin without realizing it. This study uses the descriptive method of literature as the method used to describe or present the results based on a literature review as well as by extracting hermeneutics and exegesis of texts in the synoptic gospels. The purpose of this study is, first, to describe the notion of blaspheming the Holy Spirit as an unpardonable sin, using appropriate and biblical principles. Second, compare the results of the interpretation with several interpretations that contrast with the statements of the Bible in other parts that take all sin seriously (Rom. 6:23). Third, every believer has a complete understanding of the meanings of sin, so that they can seriously live in Christ.

Abstract

True doctrine contains real energy and events as a character-spirit changer of listeners. When the doctrine taught is not put into practice by the preacher then the doctrine is not real or virtual, because it does not impartation and is powerless to change. This study aims to describe the meaning of virtual doctrine based on a study of Matthew 23:13-33 and its impact on the development of the Christian faith. The research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study and interpretation of the biblical text. Data were also obtained through direct observation and interviews in the field. The results of the study conclude that the phenomenon of virtual doctrine can have a fatal impact on the development of the congregation's faith. Therefore, spiritual leaders need to reflect and change themselves so that they are able to live the teachings they convey and in the end can become living examples.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to review the views of supralapsarianism and infralapsarianism which are two views within the Reformed theology camp. These two views are often misunderstood, supralapsarianism is often seen as making God a sin-maker and God acting unjustly. On the other hand, infralapsarianism is accused of falling on Arminianism. This article is an attempt to clarify the misunderstanding of these two views. The method used in this article is a literature review in the presentation of argumentative main ideas. The results of this study indicate that both supralapsarianism and infralapsarianism cannot be said to be absolute antitheses, but there are also differences that supralapsarianism focuses on the ideal and theological, while infralapsarianism focuses on the historical structure of Bible teachings.

Abstract

The problem of this research is that there is a phenomenon that children need an exemplary father in fostering their faith, so that they experience a personal encounter with God in Jesus Christ, believe in Him, and obey His word. This article uses literature study. The results reveal that the child's introduction to God is the responsibility of the father as the head of the family as well as the spiritual leader for all members of the family. Fathers nurture children spiritually so that they have a close relationship with God, experience new life in Jesus Christ and be able to overcome temptations and still rely on Jesus Christ in the midst of the restlessness of the world. Active involvement in spiritual development will have a positive impact on children's lives so that children enjoy their growth and development in a healthy and meaningful way. Children can also record a father figure leadership model for the child's self-development. And in the future the child will be able to carry on this impact in his life, in particular becoming a potential model father for his son.
