Abstract

From the mid-19th century until now Christians are confused and troubled by the movements and teachings of the Witnesses who have undermined the Superiority of Christ. In particular when they interpret the word prototokos in Colossians 1:15 which is very different, even contrary to Christian understanding and beliefs in general. The results of this study found that there are differences in the basic and background interpretations used by Jehovah's Witnesses with the basis and background for the interpretation of Christians in general of the word prōtotokos in Colossians 1:15. Jehovah's Witnesses use the word qanah (קנח) from Proverbs 8: 22,25 as the basis and background for the interpretation of the word prōtotokos in Colossians 1:15.

Abstract

The context of understanding the humanity and innocence of Jesus gave rise a theological controversy. The reason is, the all-perfect God who became human in Jesus Christ is difficult to maintain because He is a limited figure and is considered to have made mistakes. For example Jesus' ignorance regarding the person who touched His robe (Mark 5:30-32 and Luke 8 :45), Jesus' ignorance of what will happen in the last days (Mark 13:27-32), Jesus' mistake in calling Zechariah son of Berechiah (Matthew 23:35; 2 Chronicles 24:20) and the wrong behavior of Jesus who was angry in the Temple (Matthew 21:12-16; Luke 19:45-46; John 2:15-16). The purpose of this study is to provide a biblical description in an apologetic frame as a form of a refutation of these assumptions. This study uses a qualitative method with an apologetic approach. An understanding of the person of Jesus needs to be seen comprehensively with the context that binds it. The assumptions about Jesus' guilt and ignorance are not substantially based on a comprehensive and credible interpretation.

Abstract

The holiness of a priest is an important review in this paper based on the study of the text in the book entitled Six Books on the Priesthood written by John Chrysostom. A book dealing with the priesthood. The holiness of life is not only seen from one aspect, but there are three things that must be considered both in the position as a representative of Christ, in shepherding, and spiritual growth through spiritual discipline. That is why an Imam has a very noble job despite many difficulties and temptations. Only the priest is qualified to bring offerings to God on a holy (intermediary) altar. The priest is not only responsible for his status as a representative of Christ (church confirmation) but must lead Christ's sheep to salvation even if his own life is at stake. Grace and mercy as well as an intimate relationship with God will further purify the heart, soul, and mind of a priest so that through the spiritual discipline he does (prayer and repentance) more and more reflect Christ in his life, including his pastorate.

Many people are facing problems with money, including Christian Leaders. Problems appear when a pastor serves others in order to gain prosperity. This attitude caused his teachings by emphasizing a successful life. Wealthy tend to be a standard of success. Surely the prosperity Gospel is false because Jesus Christ taught His believers to gain spiritual wealth in Heaven by giving priority to the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:19-34). This lack of attitude occurred among the pastors of the Synod of the Bible’s Truthful Voice Church (abbreviated as GSKI). Therefore, this article aims to seek the correlation between the GSKI pastors' perception of the concept of gaining treasure in Heaven consider to the Kingdom of God. The results showed that the attitude of seeking treasure in heaven is a pattern of life that is formed by the pastor motive who gives priority to serving God, the kingdom of God, and His righteousness simultaneously. Abstract

The coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) pandemic has had a huge impact on human life. This study highlights how the theological response to the impact caused by covid-19, both in the context of religious and economic rituals. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of the description in this article suggest that the covid-19 pandemic has caused all global communities and various aspects to be seriously affected by this outbreak, In this outbreak, the world economy has slumped, many people have died due to covid-19, and the space for religious rituals has been restricted. In the context of Christian theology, this pandemic can be indicated as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy as John's prophecy in the book of Revelation. Theologically, this plague is a punishment for humans who are willing to exploit nature. This epidemic is also a form of God's warning in the midst of increasingly corrupted human morality, which eases sinful acts without heeding the truth of God's word. This study concludes that the theological response to the covid-19 pandemic is to be more vigilant spiritually and build a life that glorifies God.
