Abstract

Paul, Apostle relates the Good News to the wisdom of God that is understood by humans who give themselves to believe in Jesus. However, the presence of the powerful Sophists with the teaching of worldly wisdom and relying on the power of the word of wisdom (sophia logou), has obscured the true meaning of God's wisdom. This study aims to explore the influence of the Sophists in the life of the Corinthian church which caused Paul to explain the true meaning of wisdom. Knowing the background of the wisdom problem in Corinth will give you a complete picture of the wisdom of God that Paul preached. This study applies historical research methods to find out the origin and influence of the Sophists' teachings. The results show that the sophia logou owned by the Sophists has obscured the meaning of the cross of Christ which is the wisdom of God. The wisdom that Paul means in the letter to the Corinthians is the openness of one's mind to believe in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross which has implications for congregational unity and survival in the face of problems or struggles.

Abstract

The 2019 Coronavirus pandemic (covid-19) has damaged the order of human life as usual, including the world of education. In the world of education before the pandemic, parents completely handed over the responsibility of teaching to teachers in schools. But the COVID-19 pandemic has turned it into the responsibility of teaching left to parents. The problem is, many parents are not ready to teach because they are not equipped with teacher education. As a result, parents are forced to teach with minimal knowledge so that the actions of parents often become victims of this unpreparedness. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been some parents who abuse their children because they are difficult to teach. Moving on from this case, the researcher is interested in providing solutions to the struggles of parents when accompanying children learn by using a qualitative approach by looking at the phenomena that occurred during the covid 19 pandemic. Based on the author's research, the right model for assisting parents in learning is teaching with repetitive, patient, and creative.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is the example of spiritual leaders when shepherding the congregation. Some of the factors that make the pastor not an example are repentance, character, and minimal human resources. This study applies a qualitative method. The researcher uses the Bible as the main source, also uses literature from several sources of books and journals, to get a clear picture of the example of spiritual leaders based on Philippians 2:1-8, which will later be implemented in the leadership of the pastoral congregation of the Pentecostal Church in Tanah Papua (GPDP). Special Mimika Classics. The results of the study show that in Christian leadership, the pastor as the leader of the local congregation can influence the people he leads. Philippians 2:1-8 is Paul's writing that teaches about the example of Jesus Christ as a spiritual leader, which can be seen from principles, ministry, and personality.

Abstract

The wisdom of Israel is linked to its mission. Another unique thing is that wisdom which is usually associated with divine power, intellect, spirituality, practical skills, and the meaning of life apparently is also associated with missions for all nations. Israel as God's chosen nation with a royal priesthood carries out a noble task to fulfill His promise to Abraham that his descendants will be a blessing to all tribes. In carrying out these responsibilities, Israel needed wisdom. Through exegesis studies of Deuteronomy 4: 5-8 and supported by literature studies, it can be found that the wisdom of Israel was implemented in obedience to the law of God. From this obedience, the nations will see the quality of their lives, hear their preaching about the LORD and His decrees, and recognize that Israel is a special nation until finally they are expected to give praise to God and even follow Him. This review also reveals the fact that the mission carried out by Israel is either centripetal or centrifugal. The results of this study can also be applied in the missionary task of believers today.

Abstract

The church conducts entrepreneurship for the congregation and the community as one of the fulfillment of cultural mandates. One form of church social service is congregational entrepreneurship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of the pandemic has made it difficult for the congregation to meet the needs of daily life. Therefore, the church as an institutionalized individual and community is responsible for carrying out concrete social services through entrepreneurship. This research is a theological response for the church to address the pandemic conditions specifically related to entrepreneurship. This paper uses the literature study method and theological reflection approach. The results of this study are the formation and increase of entrepreneurship managed by congregations and churches in the COVID-19 pandemic area.

Abstract

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) in the past was something deviant, but nowadays it has become a trend that is even considered natural by many people. This of course has a sociological impact. There is a view that says that the behavior of LGBT people is a biological natural behavior, so it needs to be accepted as something that cannot be changed. Some theories agree that LGBT behavior is influenced by environmental, parenting, and economic factors so that there are pros and cons for LGBT people. This study aims to see the sociological influence of the LGBT community by using a literature review. The results of the study show that LGBT is contrary to the truth of God's creation, namely the clear separation of sex, namely male and female. Also, this is contrary to the design of marriage that God built, namely heterosexuality and monogamy.

Abstract

The view of God which is reasoned logically and rationally brings the concept of God as an experience and not a transcendent person. Therefore, any form of immanence theology cannot be accepted as biblical teaching. Through a literature study approach, it is concluded that the existence of a transcendent and immanent God can counter the principles of immanence theology. God is present and actively participates in the world to give believers rest in the knowledge that no place or situation is too far away to be under God's protective hands. And moreover, God is present supernaturally and transcendentally far beyond human reason and logic, both in the form of religiosity that is built and one's relationship with the world.

Abstract

This research presents the missiological role of the mothers of the GKE Kanaan Palangka Raya congregation. The role of mothers in church ministry during the Covid-19 pandemic is needed, because of the involvement and loyalty of mothers in serving. To discuss the subject of this study, researchers used qualitative methods. This method is strengthened by literature review and documentation data in the field. The results reveal the practical role of the maternal missionary in mission service at GKE Kanaan. The role is that mothers become a fundraiser section in order to support the mission service at the PI Post built by the GKE Kanaan congregation. Then the mothers of the Canaanite church testified to the community by doing social services to distribute sembako to the lesser people. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic as it is today. To encourage and enhance the role of the mothers of the GKE Kanaan congregation in the ministry of mission, supported by the coaching factor of the church and the commitment of loyalty possessed by the mothers themselves. Loyalty includes the value of witnessing, fellowship, and serving God.

Abstract

Understanding the term Messiah in the biblical understanding of the apostle Matthew. In response to the world's understanding of the Messiah is the figure awaited by the Jews as a powerful liberator to free from suffering under the Roman empire. The image of the Messiah is also seen by Asians as a very merciful figure. Through a descriptive analysis method to literature study, research explains the understanding of the Messiah derived from the understanding of the Jewish people, before the coming of Jesus Christ as the embodiment of the OT prophecy regarding the Messiah who was sent to come to earth as the Savior of His people. The results of this study indicate that faith in Jesus Christ is getting stronger and evangelism has a focus on declaring Jesus as the Messiah.

Abstract

The meaning of the kingdom of God is often discussed by scholars of theology who reveal that the kingdom of God is something that will come or is happening now. This article provides an understanding for readers that knowing the Kingdom of God as a believer's life priority based on the Gospel of Matthew 6:33 is not something mystical. The kingdom of God can only be known, known, and obtained by knowing God in Christ as its foundation. This study uses the exegesis method with a word analysis approach from the original text, which is to find the spiritual meaning behind the original text. The results of this study found that the kingdom of God is the totality of the lives of believers who do not only focus on physical needs that cause more worry. So that this article provides an understanding that changes the mindset of believers about the kingdom of God in today's world, namely living to seek God and seeking true justice is to put on Christ.
