Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of paper finger puppet learnt media on speaking skills in low class. The type of research used in this study is Quasi Experimental Design with the design of Nonquivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research was class IIIA and Class IIIB Baros Kencana Elementary School CBM Sukabumi City. Data collection was carried out by a test method consisted of pretest and posttest. Learnt conducted in the experimental class uses paper finger puppet learnt media, while the learnt done in the control class does not use  media. The calculation results show the experimental class has a higher average value of learnt outcomes compared to the control class. The average final grade of the experimental class is 79 while the control class is 63. In addition, the results of tested from the t-test of two independent samples show the results of sig. equal to 0,000 which means that the value is less than 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the use of paper finger puppets on the speaking skills of students in the low class.

Abstract

Based on the results of a literature study that has been carried out at the 5th Cibeureum Hilir Elementary School in the City of Sukabumi. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using series picture media puzzles on narrative essay writing skill in low class. This research method is using Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequvalent Control Group Design. sample is used by 40 low grade elementary school student. The result of analysis obtained by score of post test. There is a different on the average score between experiment class and control class that is equal to 77.00 and 68.25. This is has proven with T test of two independent sample and obtained sig. score (2-tailed) equal to 0.018. That sig. score are lower than 0.05 so that H0 was refused and H1 was accepted. The criteria on average score on experiment class and control class was differents significantly. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of using series picture media puzzles on narrative essay writing in low class.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application method of Shared Reading  to improve the reading ability in high basic students. The research method used was Classroom Action Research with a research design using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which were carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were grade IV students of SDN 1 Cikembar with 39 students, consisting of 17 male students and 22 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used a test technique in the form of pretest and posttest. While the non-test technique is in the form of observation, field notes and documentation. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The results of the pre-cycle study through the indicator test of the ability to read aloud, showed completeness of 26%. Then increasing in the first cycle reached completeness by 46%. Whereas in the second cycle, the results of the tests showed completeness reached 79%. This Classroom Action Research concludes that students ability to read aloud increases through Shared Reading methods in high school students in the elementary school year 2019.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the process of implementing learning and improve students' speaking skills through the implementation of show and tell methods. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and Taggart designs through 2 cycles ranging from planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research participants were class II B students of Pintukisi Elementary School, Sukabumi City, with 34 students. Techniques for collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The method of data analysis uses quantitative descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The indicator of success of this study is that at least 70% of the respondents reached the KKM score of 70. The results showed: (1) the process of implementing learning was good and a positive response was indicated by the average score of teacher performance in Cycle I: 60 II: 81 (Very good), Performance of students in cycle I: 62 (Good), and cycle II: 75 (good), (2) Show and tell methods can improve students' speaking skills. Improvement can be seen from the average value of students' speaking skills at pretest, which is 54 points to 68 points in the first cycle so that it increases by 14 points, with classical completeness of 32%. In the first cycle, it was 68 points to 81 points in the second cycle so that it increased by 13 points, with classical completeness of 91%. The achievement data above shows that show and tell methods are proven to be able to improve the quality of the learning process and students' speaking skills which are very significant.

Abstract

This study aims to describe improvement in students' discussion skills through the Group Investigation learning model in high class. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a research design using the Kemmis and Mc models. Taggart conducted two cycles. The research instruments used were discussion skills questionnaires, teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and observation skills discussion sheets. The results of the study show that the application of the Group Investigation learning model can improve students' high-level discussion skills. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained from the pre-cycle students with a value of 69%, increased in the first cycle with a value of 73%, and in the second cycle reached 81%. Thus the application of the Group Investigation learning model can improve the discussion skills of students in the high class.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of poetry reading skills through the Quantum Teaching learning model for students in high school elementary school and the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model to improve poetry reading skills in students in high school elementary school. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a research design using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which were carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. Participants in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 1 Cikembar as many as 36 students, consisting of 15 male students and 21 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used a test technique in the form of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. While the non-test technique is in the form of observation, field notes and documentation. The results of the pre-cycle study through the poetry reading skills indicator test showed completeness by 22%. Then increasing in the first cycle reached completeness of 64%. Whereas in the second cycle, the results of the tests showed completeness reached 84%. The overall increase with the calculation of the N-Gain formula scores 0.7 with the medium category. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) concludes that poetry reading skills are improved through the Quantum Teaching learning model for students in high school elementary school 2018/2019.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of team quiz learning strategies on the speaking skills of grade VI elementary school students in nonfiction text material. This type of research is quasi-experimental which is designed in the form of Nonequivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sample used is a saturated sample that is all students of class V.1 and class V.2 SDN Suryakencana CBM Sukabumi City. The instrument used was a test, the test was given at the pretest and posttest. The learning process in the experimental class uses the team quiz learning strategy while in the control class without using the team quiz learning strategy but using conventional learning strategies with the lecture method. The results of the research data analysis that has been tested for normality and homogeneity test are obtained from the posttest value. There are differences from the average value of the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class has a final average value of 77.00 and the control class students have a final average value of 67.44, so the experimental class and control class have a ratio of 9.56. This is evidenced by the results of testing the Independent Two Sample T Test showing significant results of 0,000 smaller than the significant level (0.05), meaning that there are significant differences in results between the experimental class posttest and the control class posttest. So it can be concluded that the team quiz learning strategy has an influence on the speaking skills of fifth grade elementary school students in the 2018/2019 academic year.

Abstract

          This study aims to describe the application and improvement of description writing skills through the guided writing method. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a research design using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which were carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning actions, implementing actions, observing actions and reflecting actions. The subjects of this study were grade 5B students at SDI Al-Azhar 7 in Sukabumi City, 23 students, consisting of 11 male students and 12 female students. This research was conducted on April 29 to May 14, 2019. The technique of data collection was done by interviews, observation, tests, and documentation. The instrument of data collection is done by teacher and student observation sheets, interview sheets and description writing skills tests. Data analysis techniques were carried out in descriptive quantitative techniques. Observation results of teacher performance in cycles I and II experienced an increase of 18 points which obtained an average value of 66 and 84, while the results of observation of activities of students in cycles I and II experienced an increase of 18 points which obtained an average value of 64 and 82. Results Pre-cycle research writes a description of obtaining completeness of 34,78%. Then increasing in the first cycle reached completeness 47,83%. In the second cycle it continued to increase to reach completeness 82,61%. The conclusion of this study shows that the description writing skills of class 5B students increased through the application of guided writing methods.

Abstract

This study is designed to describe the planning and implementation of a match learning model, and describes improvement in social skills through the Make a Match Learning model for students in high school elementary school. The research method used in the research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The fifth grade students were from Kebonjati Elementary School. Consisting of 21 male students and 21 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, field notes, and registration. Based on the data obtained from the results of the study, the teacher obtained an average value of 71 with an average value of 68 with a fairly active category in cycle 1. While in cycle 2 the average value of 73 in the active category. Fulfilling the social training indicator values ​​reached an average of 76 in the good category. The action of learning continues with the 2nd cycle. In cycle 2, the indicator of students' skills reaches an average of 82 with a very good category. From these results, we have drawn conclusions from successful research because the value of the skills is very good received from students. In order to improve social skills of students in SDN Kebonjati.
