Abstract

Awareness of family planning and reproductive health is essential to Indonesian society. This is because the maternal and infant mortality rates are still relatively high, especially in rural areas. This research then aims to look at innovations that can be carried out in midwifery practice to help increase awareness of family planning and reproductive health. This research will be carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach. This research method is a literature study. This research found that family-focused health education can help reduce unwanted pregnancy, domestic violence, and maternal and child mortality rates. In addition, the presence of psychological support can also help couples deal with stress and anxiety during pregnancy and childbirth. This psychological support can ultimately help the family mentally and physically. Finally, a collaboration that occurs between governments can help people who live in areas that are marginalized or difficult to reach. Through the implementation of these innovations, it is hoped that awareness of family planning and reproductive health can increase.

Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis (CKD-HD) frequently experience an increase in fluid volume, which is largely shown by interdialytic weight gain (IDWG). An increase in IDWG may cause the mean arterial pressure (MAP) during dialysis to increase. Chronic renal disease patients, it might worsen their condition and implies a change in intravascular. Patients must control their fluid intake, nevertheless, there are still a lot of patients who struggle with this. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between IDWG and pre-dialysis MAP in patients with chronic kidney disease. A descriptive correlation method with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The instruments were observation sheets to note the weight dan blood pressure, weight scales, and a sphygmomanometer. The purposive sampling method was used to select the respondents in this study. The respondents were 52 CKD-HD patients over the age of 18 who exercise at least twice a week and are not in intensive care. The data was collected at a hemodialysis unit. Statistical analysis used Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The results showed that most of the respondents had IDWG in the adequate category (78.8%) and pre-dialysis MAP in the optimal category (23.1%), p=0.003 (less than 0.05) and r=0,41. This study concluded that there was a relationship with moderate strength between IDWG and pre-dialysis MAP in patients with chronic kidney disease. Nurses are urged to strengthen monitoring of IDWG and pre-dialysis MAP, as well as monitoring of dietary compliance and patient fluid intake limitations, to identify potential issues in patients with chronic renal disease.

Abstract

ntroduction: Neonates undergoing treatment often experience pain and painful procedures. Proper pain management needs to be done considering various cases in neonates with different pain experiences and causes. This study aimed to review the effect of non-pharmacological pain interventions on neonates. Methods: A systematic review was conducted to investigate the effect of non-pharmacology pain management in neonates. Studies were obtained from Proquest, Clinical Key for Nursing, Science Direct, and EBSCO databases. This study was limited to Randomized Control Trial studies published between 2015 and 2022, using subject headings and synonyms as keywords: neonate, neonatal, newborn, pain management, non-pharmacology pain management, and pain level. Next, JBI (Joanna Brings Institute) was used to evaluate journal quality, and thematic analysis was used as the data analysis method. Results: The search identified 659 relevant studies, and 19 studies have met the criteria. Nineteen articles show that various effective non-pharmacological pain management in premature and term infants are a sweet solution, skin stimulation, positioning, audio stimulation, and olfactory stimulation. Twelve journals discuss comparisons between interventions, and six journals discuss positions like facilitated tacking, hammock, swaddling, holding, and nesting. Five journals discuss combined pain management. Most of the journals (12 journals) discuss breastmilk odor stimulation and breastfeeding. The study also proved that multiple pain management was more effective than one type of intervention. Conclusion: The case-tailored practice of pain management in neonates and selecting the right combination of pain management will help reduce pain and increase comfort.

Abstract

MFA is an emotional bond that develops between mother and fetus. Maternal-fetal attachment is based on cognitive representations such as thoughts, feelings, and behaviors representing a pregnant mother's affection for her fetus. Husband's support and anxiety are factors that influence the quality of MFA and birth outcomes. Objective: to analyze husband's support, anxiety level and MFA level. Method: Scoping review using the PRISMA Scr framework. Using the PICO Framework, the search strategy was searched using keywords in the Scopus, Ebsco, Pubmed, ScienceDirect and Proquest databases. Critical Assessment is done with JBI. Results: 14 articles were obtained that were screened using the PRISMA ScR framework, 50% came from developing countries and 50% from developed countries. Articles with cross-sectional research methods, cohort and longitudinal studies each 28.6% and case control studies 14.2%. JBI results from 14 articles resulted in a score of more than 50% so it was accepted. Conclusion: MFA is influenced by husband's support and anxiety which impacts birth outcomes and infant development. Efforts are needed to increase MFA through MFA training for pregnant women and constructive anxiety management.

Abstract

Adolescents and young adults with gynecology cancer are unique, especially in terms of their reproductive and sexual aspects. This systematic review aimed to identify reproductive problems in adolescent and young adult survivors of gynecology cancer. Articles from five databases were reviewed. PubMed, Taylor Francis, Scopus, Science Direct, and Proquest, which were published in 2012-2023, 15-39 years of age, who had gynecology cancer and had completed cancer treatment. Biased risk assessment using Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) tools. From the 1.167 articles, 12 were reviewed in this systematic review. Based on the results of the study, there were 4479 adolescent and young adult cancer survivors and 990 with gynecology cancer (cervical, ovarian, endometrial, pelvic, and vulva). The average age at diagnosis of cancer was 33,58 years old. Reproductive problems that occur in adolescents and young adults are sexual dysfunction, sexual activity, fertility, and psychosocial problems as a result of reproductive problems. Adolescent and young adult cancer survivors need information on reproductive issues and fertility maintenance after completing cancer treatment. Health professionals must focus on reproductive problems and counselling about long-term reproductive health among adolescent and young adult gynecology cancer survivors.Abstrak: Remaja dan dewasa awal dengan kanker ginekologi punya keunikan khususnya berkaitan dengan aspek seksual dan kesehatan reproduksi. Abstract

Patient safety issues during the Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies implemented to improve it. This paper aims to find out strategies in improving patient safety in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative research with case study methods or approaches (Case Studies) and observations. The results show that six patient safety goals have been implemented, but management support is needed to improve patient safety, especially in terms of optimizing service quality, regulatory policies, socialization, and staff training. Lack of officer awareness and commitment to incident reporting are obstacles to changing safety cultures. Strategy optimization is carried out by improving human resources and meeting patient perceptions of patient safety, such as services in accordance with procedures, handling speed, cleanliness of standardized rooms and infrastructure, and the availability of patient aids in hospitals. Optimization of the strategic plan is carried out by streamlining human resources (HR), patient perceptions of patient safety in hospitals including services that are in accordance with procedures, services based on handling speed, the presence of officers who are always on standby, responsive and competent attitudes, information about the flow of hospitals and clear patient referral systems,  cleanliness of standardized rooms and infrastructure, completeness of waiting room facilities, and the availability of patient aids in hospitals.
