Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between the role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers (PAI) in shaping the religious character of high school students throughout Serang City. The approach used is quantitative with survey methods. The research sample consisted of 300 respondents who were high school students in Serang City. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale which has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS program through the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and Spearman's rho correlation test. The research results showed that the data was not normally distributed with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), so the analysis continued using non-parametric statistics. The results of the Spearman correlation test show a correlation coefficient value of 0.017 with a significance value of 0.767 (>0.05). This shows that there is no significant relationship between the role of PAI teachers and students' religious character. Thus, the research hypothesis which states that there is a relationship between the two variables cannot be accepted. These findings indicate that the formation of students' religious character is not only influenced by the role of PAI teachers, but also by other factors such as family environment, peers, school culture, and the influence of social media.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed educational practices, including Islamic Religious Education (IRE). While AI offers substantial potential to enhance learning effectiveness through personalization, adaptive instruction, and data-driven assessment, its integration into IRE raises critical ethical and pedagogical concerns. This study aims to examine the implications of AI for Islamic Religious Education, with particular attention to the challenges of maintaining ethical values and pedagogical integrity in technology-mediated learning environments. Using a qualitative literature review approach, this study analyzes relevant theoretical and empirical studies on AI in education, Islamic pedagogy, and Islamic ethics. The findings indicate that although AI can support instructional efficiency and learner engagement, it is limited in addressing the affective and spiritual dimensions central to IRE. Ethical issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the authority of religious knowledge, along with pedagogical challenges related to moral formation and teacher–student interaction, remain significant. The study concludes that a human-centered and ethically grounded integration of AI is essential to ensure that technological innovation aligns with the moral and spiritual objectives of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of strengthening multimodal literacy and self-talk in learning research methodology as well as the interaction effect of these two variables. This research is a pre-test and post-test control group experimental design with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The research subjects were selected using the Cluster Random Sampling technique; one experimental group with 31 students given a multimodal learning approach and one control group with 33 students given a monomodal learning approach. Data in this study were collected using achievement tests and self-talk questionnaire. The experimental group received nine sessions of treatment involving multimodal literacy and self-talk reinforcement. For the control group, treatment was also given 9 times using monomodal media and without self-talk reinforcement. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk test and Levene test for pre-requisite test, and Two-Way ANOVA for hypothesis testing. The results show that there is no significant influence of the learning approach or self-talk reinforcement on research methodology competence; however, there was an interaction effect between the two variables. Thus, it is important to conduct research methodology learning that combines a multimodal learning approach using various techniques and media with self-talk reinforcement.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine instructional models that align with the principles of deep learning, specifically mindful learning, joyful learning, and meaningful learning. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to ensure transparency and methodological rigor. Literature was retrieved from Google Scholar, Scopus, ERIC, and SpringerLink, covering publications from 2020 to 2025. After duplicate removal and multi-stage screening, 35 empirical studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using thematic analysis through open, axial, and selective coding. Inter-rater reliability was established using Cohen’s Kappa (κ = 0.82), indicating substantial agreement. The findings reveal that meaningful learning is the most consistently supported dimension across instructional models, followed by joyful learning, while mindful learning remains less explicitly integrated. Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning emerged as the most comprehensive models, demonstrating alignment across all three dimensions by integrating authentic problem contexts, collaborative engagement, and reflective processes. In contrast, gamified and play-based approaches predominantly support joyful engagement but often lack structured reflective scaffolding. The review suggests that deep learning is most effectively fostered through pedagogical frameworks that intentionally integrate cognitive integration, emotional engagement, and metacognitive awareness. These findings provide a conceptual foundation for developing more balanced and holistic instructional designs aligned with contemporary deep learning principles.

Abstract

This study aims to develop character education teaching materials based on Lembak ethnic folklore. The research employed the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and user feedback. The evaluation process included product testing and assessments by students, practitioners, traditional leaders, and users of the developed materials. The findings identified 14 folktales (sagas) originating from Lembak regions, including Padang Ulak Tanding, Lubuklinggau, Musi Rawas, Musi Banyuasin, Lebong, and North Musi Rawas. Through analysis using a sociological literary approach, 17 out of 18 character education values were identified, supported by 260 relevant excerpts. The needs analysis—covering curriculum, teaching resources, student characteristics, and learning processes—indicated a strong demand for character education materials among both educators and students. Validation results from practitioners showed that the product was rated as excellent in terms of language, instructional content, media design, and cultural relevance. In conclusion, the Lembak ethnic-based character education materials are well aligned with the needs of both students and educators. This study contributes to students, practitioners, cultural observers, readers, and the wider community by promoting local literature as an effective medium for character education in both school and social contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of a learning environment through the Madrasah Ramah Anah (MRA, Child-Friendly Madrasah) program at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN, State Islamic Senior Highschool) Salatiga, identify the elements of the learning environment that have been formed, and explain their significance for deep learning and the Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta (KBC, Passionate Based-Curriculum). This study uses a qualitative field approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed thematically through coding, category grouping, and theme identification, with data validity ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. The research results indicate that the learning environment in the MRA program at MAN Salatiga is constructed through an operational institutional foundation, service and mentoring mechanisms, a humanistic culture of interaction, and an active, contextual, and reflective learning design. This construction forms a safe, relational, participatory, and meaningful learning environment, although the experience of safety and the courage to participate are not yet fully equitable among all students. This study found that the MRA program functions not only as an instrument for child protection but also as a socio-pedagogical foundation that enables deep learning and the values of the KBC to be realized in madrasah learning practices.
