Abstract

This article examines the crisis of student spirituality in the digital era through a critical reading of cognitive dominance in Islamic Religious Education learning. The study was compiled from the fact that increasing access to religious knowledge does not always go hand in hand with the formation of students’ inner awareness. The research uses a qualitative study based on literature studies with a critical conceptual analysis of the works of Paulo Freire, Thomas Lickona, and Al-Ghazali, accompanied by journal articles that discuss religious learning, character education, critical pedagogy, and student spirituality. The analysis was carried out through the identification of theoretical categories, comparative reading of the latest literature, and then interpretive synthesis. The results of the study show that the dominance of learning based on material mastery produces inequality between moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Students know religious values verbally, but affective attachment to these values develops unevenly. The digital space expands access to religious materials, but knowledge is often received in fragments. Freire pointed out that one-way learning relationships still persist in religious learning. Lickona explained that moral knowledge has not automatically turned into moral action. Al-Ghazali emphasized that knowledge must move to the territory of tazkiyat al-nafs. This article offers a synthesis of reflective pedagogy as a direction for the renewal of religious learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of GMNI Banyuwangi members regarding Sukarno’s views on women’s contributions to the struggle for the Republic of Indonesia. Data collection was conducted through literature review, interviews, observation, and documentation. In-depth interviews were conducted with 11 informants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of the chairperson of the Banyuwangi GMNI DPC, the deputy head of the Sarinah division of the Banyuwangi GMNI DPC, the political bureau of the Banyuwangi GMNI DPC, the cadre development bureau of the DPK KIP, the deputy head of the DPK KIP, a member of the DPK Engineering, the chairperson of the DPK ISIP, a member of the DPK Law, the secretary of the DPK FPP, and the deputy head of the political division of the DPK FPP. These interviews were conducted to explore the informants’ subjective interpretations of Sukarno’s thoughts on Sarinah and women’s contributions to the struggle for the Republic of Indonesia. Observations were conducted to examine organizational dynamics and patterns of cadre interaction during Sarinah discussion activities. Documentation included archives and internal GMNI documents. The research findings indicate that the majority of GMNI Banyuwangi members view women as an essential element of the struggle, equal to men, likened to two flapping wings that mutually support one another. The depth of understanding regarding Sukarno’s thoughts on Sarinah remains varied, influenced by the limited critical reading skills of GMNI Banyuwangi members. Sukarno is perceived as a revolutionary thinker who demanded full women’s participation to achieve comprehensive independence. In general, these findings indicate a gap between Sukarno’s normative ideas and organizational practices, making the strengthening of gender-sensitive leadership development essential to actualizing Sarinah’s values and enriching today’s nationalist student movement.

Abstract

Technology integration is currently becoming crucial in learning. One emerging technology is MathCityMap (MCM), which integrates technology with mathematics learning. This study highlights MCM based on geography, the abilities studied, frequently used topics, and research areas, with an emphasis on cognitive and affective domain. This study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study using the PRISMA method to filter the articles analyzed. The study inclusion criteria consisted of empirical articles, aligned with the research questions, published in scientific journals between 2020 and 2025. Of the 295 articles obtained from Scopus, Eric, Semantic Scholar, Open Alex, Crossref, and Google Scholar, then a review was conducted. After a quality review, 25 articles were included in the analysis. The analysis results obtained that currently most research is conducted in Germany as the country of origin of MCM, while in Indonesia, Yogyakarta has become the most frequent area. What makes MCM interesting is that it includes two research abilities: 10 different cognitive aspects and 3 affective aspects. The topic trend is Geometry (18 articles), and MCM practices are shown to be more common in school settings (15 articles) compared to outside school settings (10 articles). Finally, the findings of this study reveal that MCM mostly focus on cognitive domain while affective domain seem still lack of study. MCM is apparently able to stimulate students' cognitive and affective abilities. Additional findings indicate that geographically, research using MCM is acceptable in various regions and countries, thus potentially becoming a new face of global mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies for developing leadership competencies at the senior level within INAP Timor-Leste, using the theoretical framework of competency development and human resource development. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving informants from policy-making, implementation, and evaluation bodies responsible for the development of leadership competencies for senior-level civil servants at INAP Timor-Leste and the Civil Service Commission of Timor-Leste. The findings indicate that the development of leadership competencies for senior-level civil servants has not been optimal. This is due to development designs still relying on outdated needs analyses that no longer address current demands, continued dependence on an old curriculum, limitations in resources (trainers, facilities and infrastructure, as well as technological and digital infrastructure), weak leadership commitment in policy implementation, and learning methods that remain largely confined to classical approaches. Additionally, there is a policy gap concerning the regulation of leadership competency development, particularly related to Decreto Lei do Governo No. 7/2024, the first amendment to Decreto Lei do Governo No. 7/2024. Therefore, strategies to optimize leadership competency development at the senior level in INAP include conducting updated needs analyses to design demand-based programs, strengthening resources (trainers, facilities, infrastructure, and digital technology), developing more varied learning methods, and reinforcing policies governing leadership competency development.

Abstract

The development of social enterprises as socially oriented business entities reflects a paradigm shift in understanding corporate purpose, from a purely profit-oriented approach toward the integration of economic and social objectives. However, this development has not been adequately supported by a comprehensive legal framework within the Indonesian legal system. This study aims to examine the limitations of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) regulations within the framework of Limited Liability Companies in accommodating social enterprises, as well as to analyze the implications of legal gaps on their existence. This research employs normative legal research using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that CSR cannot be equated with social enterprises, as it merely functions as an additional obligation and is not inherently embedded in the company’s core objectives. Furthermore, the absence of legal mechanisms ensuring the continuity of social missions makes social enterprises in the form of limited liability companies vulnerable to shifts in orientation driven by shareholders’ decisions. The legal vacuum is also reflected in the absence of specific regulations recognizing social enterprises as distinct legal entities, resulting in only administrative acknowledgment without sufficient legal certainty. Therefore, legal reform is necessary to comprehensively accommodate the unique characteristics of social enterprises, either through the establishment of a new legal entity or the development of a specialized variant within existing corporate structures. This study is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of corporate law and practically to policymakers in formulating more adaptive regulations.

Abstract

The era of globalization has fundamentally transformed modern society, creating greater cross-national interdependence and increasing the need for cross-cultural understanding. This article examines the concept of global citizenship and its role in fostering social cohesion within increasingly pluralistic societies. Using a comprehensive literature review approach, the study analyzes the definition of global citizenship, the characteristics of global and pluralistic societies, and the role of citizens in responding to contemporary social challenges. The findings indicate that Global Citizenship Education (GCE) serves as a strategic instrument for developing the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes required for active participation in an interconnected world. The study identifies several key challenges in implementing GCE, including curriculum integration, educator capacity, local cultural resistance, unequal access to educational resources, and difficulties in assessing learning outcomes. As a contribution to the existing literature, this article offers an integrated analytical framework that connects global citizenship, pluralism, implementation challenges, and educational strategies within a single discussion, providing a more comprehensive understanding of GCE in contemporary contexts. Strategic recommendations include curriculum development, teacher professionalization, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the effective use of educational technology. The study concludes that GCE represents a long-term investment in preparing future generations to become responsible global citizens capable of contributing to a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world.
