Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of da'wah communication carried out by Lazismu Makassar in an effort to increase muzakki participation and loyalty. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this study identifies forms of communication (da'wah bi al-lisan, bi al-qalam, and bi al-hal), media strategies (offline and digital), as well as supporting and inhibiting factors that affect the effectiveness of philanthropic da'wah. The findings show that the integration of persuasive, humanist, and transparent approaches, combined with the use of digital media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, successfully builds emotional closeness and public trust. Personal communication through WhatsApp has proven to be the most effective channel in maintaining muzakki loyalty. The main supporting factors include the support of the Muhammadiyah network, a structured management system, real empowerment programs, and adaptive digital literacy. On the other hand, the low public understanding of zakat obligations and the preference for direct distribution to mustahik are still structural obstacles. This research enriches the treasures of contemporary da'wah communication theory by integrating the perspective of relationship marketing, social identity theory, and the principles of da'wah bil hikmah. The practical implications emphasize the need to strengthen zakat literacy, optimize social impact-based storytelling, and standardize measurable digital communication to strengthen the sustainability of Islamic philanthropy in the urban era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze elementary school quality management based on National Assessment results in three different institutional contexts in Dobo, Aru Islands Regency. The research employed a qualitative multi-site study at SD Naskat Yos Sudarso 1 Dobo, SD Negeri 7 Dobo, and SD Kristen 1 Dobo. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, open observation, and document study involving principals, teachers, school operators, and supervisors. The data were analyzed using reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, followed by cross-site analysis. The findings show that all three schools have implemented quality management through planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up, but with different levels of effectiveness. SD Naskat Yos Sudarso 1 Dobo demonstrated a more systematic data-based planning process through the use of Education Report Card data in school programs, supported by literacy habituation, reading corners, literacy competitions, and the GASING method for numeracy. SD Kristen 1 Dobo showed initial efforts to use National Assessment data, although monitoring and follow-up were not yet consistent. SD Negeri 7 Dobo still faced major challenges in integrating assessment data into school planning and instructional improvement. The study concludes that successful quality management based on National Assessment is strongly influenced by data-driven principal leadership, teacher involvement in reflective culture, and consistent evaluation and follow-up mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of teacher competency standards in creating effective learning at SMP Alhilaal Kamal, Kairatu Barat District, Seram Bagian Barat Regency. The research used a qualitative survey approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the implementation of teacher competencies has not been optimal. Pedagogical competence was reflected in teachers' awareness of classroom management, student characteristics, lesson planning, and learning evaluation, but learning devices and classroom practices were not consistently prepared and implemented. Professional competence was indicated by teachers' efforts to master subject matter and learning strategies, although preparation, media use, and self-development still needed improvement. Personality competence was reflected in expectations that teachers should be disciplined, responsible, mature, and exemplary, yet consistency in classroom control and student guidance remained weak. Social competence appeared in communication with students, colleagues, and parents, but collaboration among teachers and parental involvement were still limited. The inhibiting factors included limited teacher knowledge, motivation, commitment, experience, cooperation, facilities, and parental support. Supporting factors included school leadership, teacher willingness to improve, and the availability of basic learning facilities. The study concludes that effective learning requires continuous principal supervision, planned teacher competency development, stronger collaboration, and systematic evaluation of teacher performance.

Abstract

History learning in Indonesia remains dominated by centralistic national narratives, marginalizing students' local historical experiences. This condition contributes to underdeveloped historical consciousness, particularly in its critical and genetic dimensions as theorized by Jörn Rüsen. This article aims to construct an argumentative framework explaining the role of local history contextualization as a conceptual bridge between national narrative abstractions and students' empirical realities. The study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) using narrative synthesis based on Popay et al.'s (2006) framework, analyzing a corpus of 15 articles retrieved from Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ (2010–2025). The synthesis yields four main themes: (1) the dominance of national narratives and the reproduction of banking education; (2) local history as a pedagogical instrument beyond supplementary learning resources; (3) students' historical consciousness development within Rüsen's typology; and (4) contextualization as a conceptual bridge between Freire's critical pedagogy and Rüsen's historical consciousness. Findings indicate that local history-based learning can propel students from traditional and exemplary consciousness toward critical and genetic types, while repositioning them from passive recipients to active historical subjects. Nevertheless, the success of such contextualization requires structural support, including curriculum flexibility and the adequate provision of locally grounded learning materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) learning on prayer practices through the study of classical Islamic texts at Majelis Ta’lim Khairunnisa Medan Amplas. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design to explore the learning processes, methods, and their impacts on participants’ religious practices. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that fiqh learning is conducted systematically through the study of Kifayatul Akhyar, integrating both textual and contextual approaches. The learning process combines lecture, demonstration, and discussion methods, which effectively enhance participants’ understanding and practical skills in performing prayer. Demonstration-based learning plays a significant role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Furthermore, the use of classical Islamic texts (turats) remains relevant in non-formal education; however, its effectiveness largely depends on the teacher’s ability to contextualize the material. Supporting factors include teacher competence, participants’ enthusiasm, and a conducive religious environment, while inhibiting factors involve limited time, diverse participant backgrounds, and lack of learning media. This study concludes that non-formal Islamic education institutions, such as majelis ta’lim, play a strategic role in improving religious literacy and shaping religious behavior. The study contributes theoretically to Islamic education studies and practically offers insights into developing effective fiqh learning models in non-formal settings.

Abstract

Principal managerial leadership is a decisive factor in improving learning quality, particularly in Indonesia's disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas, where schools face limited facilities, teacher shortages, unstable internet access, and complex community conditions. This study aims to analyze the role of principals as managers in planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling learning at SMP Santo Paulus Saumlaki and SMP Negeri 2 Tanimbar Selatan. A qualitative multi-site design was applied. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with principals, teachers, school staff, and committee representatives; direct observation of school activities; and documentation of school programs, supervision records, learning schedules, and planning documents. Data were analyzed using reduction, display, conclusion drawing, and cross-site comparison. Credibility was strengthened through source triangulation, method triangulation, and member checking. The findings show that the principal of SMP Santo Paulus applied an adaptive-collegial managerial pattern supported by teacher solidarity, flexible planning, and humanistic supervision. Meanwhile, the principal of SMP Negeri 2 Tanimbar Selatan applied a transformational-structured pattern supported by formal programs, standardized supervision, and broader community networks. Both models improved learning management, although they faced different constraints. SMP Santo Paulus struggled with limited documentation, facilities, and standardized supervision, while SMP Negeri 2 faced bureaucratic constraints, teacher participation polarization, and student literacy problems. This study contributes to educational management by showing that principal managerial effectiveness in 3T schools depends on contextual adaptation, not a single universal leadership model.

Abstract

This research examines legal protection for child victims of sexual abuse in the jurisdiction of the Mandailing Natal Police Department (Polres Mandailing Natal). The main focus of the research is to explore how legal procedures are implemented by the police in handling cases of child sexual abuse and to what extent legal protection is provided to the victims from juridical, social, and psychological perspectives. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive case study approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document study. The informants in this research consist of officers from the Women and Children Protection Unit (UPPA), legal advocates, and psychologists. The findings indicate that legal protection for child victims of sexual abuse at Polres Madina is based on applicable legal provisions, including the Child Protection Law and the Criminal Code, and is complemented by child-friendly procedures during the investigation process. However, the implementation still faces several challenges, such as limited human resources, suboptimal inter-agency coordination, and low public legal awareness. Other obstacles include socio-cultural factors that often hinder the reporting process and protection of victims. The conclusion of this study states that although legal protection for child victims of sexual abuse at Polres Madina has been procedurally implemented, its effectiveness still needs improvement. The study recommends enhancing the capacity of law enforcement officers, providing integrated services for victims, and strengthening legal education for the public to create a more responsive and just child protection system.

Abstract

This research implementation of the Restorative Justice approach in handling domestic violence (KDRT) cases in the Polres Toba jurisdiction. Restorative Justice is a conflict resolution method that emphasizes the restoration of relationships between victims, perpetrators, families, and the community, as an alternative to the formal court process, which tends to be repressive. The research method used is field research with a descriptive case study approach, involving observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The research informants include police officers, particularly from the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA), related legal institutions, victims, and perpetrators. The results show that Restorative Justice in Polres Toba has been successfully implemented by leveraging local wisdom values such as deliberation (musyawarah), the role of traditional leaders, and mutual cooperation (gotong royong), which support a dialogical and participatory mediation and conflict resolution process. This process involves mediation stages facilitated by officers, active involvement of families, and internal regulatory support that provides the legal basis for the implementation of restorative justice. However, the application of Restorative Justice still faces challenges such as limited resources, lack of public understanding, and conflicts between customary values and victim protection. The study concludes that Restorative Justice is an effective alternative for resolving domestic violence cases in Polres Toba by providing fair and humane solutions. This research recommends increasing socialization efforts, training for officers, and strengthening inter-agency coordination to optimize the implementation of Restorative Justice in the future.
