Abstract

This study aims to examine the normative construction of ujrah (wage) within ijarah bi al-amal according to Shafi'i jurisprudence and to analyze the extent to which contemporary labor-based service transactions align with or depart from its doctrinal standards. Employing a qualitative library research approach with descriptive-analytical method, this study draws upon classical Shafi'i juristic texts and peer-reviewed contemporary scholarship as its primary data sources, analyzed through content analysis and comparative juristic method with source triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal two principal conclusions. First, Shafi'i jurisprudence constructs ujrah as a dynamic protective normative system, not merely a set of formal validity conditions, grounded in contractual clarity (ma'lum), prohibition of uncertainty (gharar), and the principle of istihqaq al-ujrah bi al-'amal, with ujrah al-mithl serving as a built-in corrective mechanism against wage deprivation. Second, contemporary ujrah applications demonstrate partial doctrinal alignment, mediated through the adaptive invocation of 'urf jari and cultural internalization of Shafi'i norms, enabling transactional success even without formal institutional oversight. These findings contribute new theoretical insights to Islamic labor contract scholarship and carry direct implications for advancing SDG 8 on Decent Work and SDG 1 on poverty reduction within Muslim-majority labor markets.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of social identity through the character of Dom in Jakarta vs Everybody (2020) using John Fiske's semiotic framework. The film portrays urban life through the experiences of a migrant youth confronted with economic hardship, social alienation, and unequal power relations in Jakarta. Employing a qualitative interpretive approach, the study analyzes four key scenes depicting bodily control, involvement in criminal social networks, criminal activities in urban public spaces, and the protagonist's identity crisis. The analysis is conducted at the levels of reality, representation, and ideology. The findings indicate that Dom's social identity is constructed as a marginalized identity that is continuously negotiated within the pressures of urban life. Visual and narrative elements reveal how economic precarity, power relations, and the urban social environment shape the protagonist's engagement in exploitative social relationships as a survival strategy. The film further represents urban criminality not merely as individual deviance but as a consequence of broader social inequalities. These findings suggest that film serves as a cultural medium through which meanings of marginalization, social identity, and survival in contemporary urban contexts are constructed.

Abstract

This research aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring and control system for watering and fertilizing oil palm seedlings using the ESP32 microcontroller. The system was developed to overcome the weaknesses of manual watering methods which still rely on estimated soil conditions so that they are less efficient and risk inhibiting seedling growth. The system utilizes a soil moisture sensor to detect soil moisture and a DHT22 sensor to monitor temperature and air humidity in real-time. The data from the sensor readings is sent through the internet network and displayed on the Telegram application as a medium for remote monitoring and control. The system was tested for 14 days under morning and evening watering conditions with Quality of Service (QoS) analysis using throughput, delay, packet loss, and jitter parameters. The results of the study show that the system successfully works automatically and is able to monitor the environmental conditions of the seedlings in real-time. The average value of the QoS index in morning watering was 2.46 with a quality percentage of 61.50%, while afternoon watering was 2.39 with a quality percentage of 59.75%, both of which are in the medium category. The packet loss parameter shows excellent performance with packet loss close to zero, while delay and jitter are in the good to good category. However, the throughput parameters are still relatively low, so it is necessary to improve network quality for system optimization. Overall, the system is designed to support the monitoring and control process of watering oil palm seedlings automatically with a fairly stable data communication quality.

Abstract

Mathematical connection skills and learning interest are two important aspects in mathematics learning that influence student learning success. Low mathematical connection skills cause students to experience difficulties in connecting mathematical concepts and relating them to everyday life. In addition, low learning interest impacts a lack of student engagement during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Discovery Learning assisted by Canva and Wordwall on students' mathematical connection skills and learning interest through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The articles analyzed were obtained through Google Scholar and accredited national journals using the 2019–2024 period. The article selection process used the PRISMA stages which include identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. A total of 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria were systematically analyzed. The results of the study indicate that Discovery Learning is effective in improving mathematical connection skills through the processes of exploration, information processing, verification, and generalization of concepts. Canva plays a role in facilitating the visualization of mathematical concepts in an interesting and systematic manner, thereby helping students' conceptual understanding. Meanwhile, Wordwall functions as an interactive practice medium that increases students' active participation, motivation, and learning interest. The integration of Discovery Learning, Canva, and Wordwall creates constructive, interactive, and meaningful mathematics learning, thereby improving the quality of learning both cognitively and affectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic status and motor maturity on futsal athletes performance through the mediation of self-efficacy. The research design employed a quantitative cross-sectional approach using a census method on 30 male athletes from SMK Cinta Kasih Tzu Chi. Data analysis utilized mediation regression based on the Hayes PROCESS Macro Model 4 with bootstrapping procedure 5,000 times to ensure the accuracy of astimates in a small sample size. Instrument reliability was confirmed through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.89 (self-efficacy) and an the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) of 0.91 (performance). The analysis results showed that economic status did not have significant direct effect on performance (β=0.082; p=0.651) but exerts a significant indirect effect through self-efficacy (full mediation; IE=0.231; 95% CI [0.054; 0.487]). Motor maturity significantly affects performance both directly (β=0.389; p=0.004) and indirectly through self-efficacy (partial mediation; IE=0.175; 95% CI [0.031; 0.389]). The overall model exhibits high predictive power (R²=0.658). These findings confirm that self-efficacy is an essential cognitive mechanism capable of mitigating limitations in socioeconomic and biological capital to achieve tangible performance in futsal.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is a fundamental competence in 21st-century education that enables students to reason logically, construct mathematical arguments, solve problems, and express ideas through verbal, written, and symbolic representations. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine the impact of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on students’ mathematical communication ability. The review analyzed five empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025, selected through a systematic screening process based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria from major academic databases. The findings consistently indicate that RME improves mathematical communication ability by promoting contextual problem solving, multiple representations, collaborative discussion, and active student engagement. The principles of reality, level, intertwinement, activity, interactivity, and guidance collectively support students in explaining mathematical ideas and constructing meaningful arguments. In addition, several studies reported positive effects on learning outcomes, learning independence, and metacognitive reflection. However, the limited number of studies explicitly focusing on the relationship between RME and mathematical communication ability restricts the generalizability of the evidence. This review contributes to mathematics education by providing a synthesized understanding of current research trends and highlighting RME as a promising pedagogical approach for strengthening students’ mathematical communication ability while identifying directions for future research across broader educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of nazhir human resource capacity on the effectiveness of productive waqf land management in Sepempang Village and to identify which capacity dimension carries the most dominant contribution. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, with data collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire administered to nazhir members and relevant stakeholders using a total sampling technique. Data analysis utilized simple linear regression preceded by classical assumption tests, with hypothesis testing conducted via t-test at a 95% confidence level. The results indicate that nazhir human resource capacity exerts a significant and positive influence on the effectiveness of productive waqf land management, with a t-count of 7.43 exceeding the t-table value and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.71, meaning 71% of management effectiveness variance is explained by nazhir human resource capacity. Among the three dimensions examined, managerial competency emerged as the most dominant contributor, followed by skills and knowledge. These findings confirm that village-level nazhir functioning as competent managerial agents are capable of realizing waqf land's productive potential, with direct implications for SDG 1, SDG 8, and SDG 10 through the generation of sustained community welfare outcomes derived from professionally managed waqf assets.
