Abstract

The balangeran tree (Shorea balangeran Korth. Burck) is a commercial species that grows well in peat swamps. Plant growth can be described through mathematical equations.  The research aims to determine the most appropriate harvest time for balangeran plants. The model was then tested for validation, accuracy and coefficient of determination. The results of the research show that the diameter growth model for balangeran plants is namely: y = - 6.94 + 7.26 x / (1+ 0.48 x + (-0.01) x2) with a coefficient of determination of  80%, The equation is valid and quite accurate.  Based on this equation, the harvest time for balangeran plants can be determined, namely 29 years, when the average diameter of balangeran plants reaches 30.97 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socioeconomic conditions of farmers in the Alam Lestari Community Forest (HKm), Jangkok Resort, West Rinjani Forest Management Unit (KPH). The approach used is qualitative descriptive, with purposive sampling to select 71 respondents from two Forest Farmer Groups (KTH). The analyzed variables include farmers' social characteristics, livelihood diversity, income, and poverty levels. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive methods. The results show that most farmers have a low education level, their primary occupation is farming, and they cultivate less than 0.5 hectares of land. The main income sources are non-timber forest products (NTFPs) such as durian, coffee, and cocoa. Poverty level analysis based on World Bank standards indicates that most farmers live above the poverty line and are considered prosperous. Socially, farmers' participation in HKm management is relatively high, especially in physical activities such as communal work. However, access to cooperative institutions remains low due to a lack of trust. This study concludes that HKm management contributes to improving farmers' economic conditions, although challenges related to land access and institutional participation need to be addressed for program sustainability.

Abstract

This research uses corncob waste and wood dust as raw materials. The amount of corn cob waste and sawdust is quite large, thus supporting the availability of raw materials. The biomass waste used in this research is corn cob waste and wood dust. The composition of corn cob fiber is 23.74% lignin, 65.96% cellulose, and 10.82% hemicellulose. Wood powder contains hemicellulose between 27.51 - 35.88%, a-cellulose between 43.15-48.73%, lignin between 22.73-33.60%. High lignin content has the potential to produce high calorific value. This research aims to determine the physical properties of corn cob and wood powder biomass waste briquettes, determine the quality standards for corn cob charcoal and wood powder briquettes based on the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard and compare the values with standards from Japan, America and England and determine the feasibility based on the results of testing the physical properties of charcoal briquettes. The research method used was an experimental method with a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and three replications. Based on the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard, corncob charcoal briquettes meet the standard, while the calorific value for sawdust does not meet the standard. The ANOVA test results showed that the treatment had a significant effect on ash content, calorific value, bound carbon content, volatile matter content and had no significant effect on water content. Corn cob charcoal briquettes are suitable for use as charcoal briquette fuel because all physical properties meet SNI standards.

Abstract

The Mandalika Special Economic Zone was developed to encourage regional economic growth, especially Central Lombok Regency, where most of the area is dry land. However, the Human Development Index for this area remains the second lowest in NTB and the poor population remains high, mainly due to low productivity and income from dry land farming. The largest dry land is in Pujut District which is the seat of the Mandalika SEZ. This research aims to analyze the poverty level of food crop farmers in the buffer villages of Mandalika SEZ. The type of research was descriptive, data collection using survey techniques in Sengkol Village, Rembitan Village and Sukadana Village and 45 farmer respondents. The results of the study revealed that the per capita income of food crop farmers was IDR 4,592,057.14/capita/year; equivalent to 352.26 kg of rice/capita/year or equivalent to US$ 0.79/capita/day so that it is classified as poor based on the Sajogyo Poverty Criteria and the World Bank Criteria. The per capita income level is only 15% of the Central Lombok Regency Minimum Wage Standards .

Abstract

Bale Mangrove is one of the tourist attractions on East Lombok's coast that emphasizes ecotourism. The number of tourist visits at this location has increased significantly in 2023. This study was conducted to measure the level of tourist comfort at Bale Mangrove Ecotourism, based on temperature and humidity or Temperature Humidity Index (THI), and identify factors that can influence tourist interest in revisiting this area. Studies related to tourist comfort on tour are critical because they can affect tourist satisfaction with the tourist destinations visited and their intention to visit again. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, with the location selection based on the consideration that Bale Mangrove ecotourism is a relatively new destination, increasingly popular, and the number of visitors is increasing. Measurements were made in two ways, namely (1) direct measurement of air temperature and humidity conditions at mangrove locations with different density types (Meeting, Medium, Rare), and the results obtained then calculated the THI value; (2) based on the results of tourist perceptions related to existing conditions in Bale Mangrove Ecotourism. Analysis was carried out using a Likert scale to identify factors using linear regression. The results showed that the average daily temperature ranged from 27.4 ° C to 28.9 ° C, daily humidity ranged from 62% to 82%, and THI values of 25.9 to 27.4, which can be categorized as less comfortable. Based on the research results, the thermal comfort aspect shows a comfortable category with a percentage of 75%, accessibility parameters with a percentage of 75%, amenity with a percentage of 61%, and interest in visiting with a percentage of 74%. Regression analysis shows that temperature, humidity index, and perceived comfort simultaneously affect visiting interest.

Abstract

Non-timber forest products (NTFPs) are resources derived from forests other than timber, including plant-based products such as rattan, candlenuts, honey, bamboo, seeds, leaves, medicinal plants, and others, as well as animal-based products like wildlife and their parts (horns, skins, etc.). Forest management must prioritize benefiting local communities while maintaining ecological considerations. In Indonesia, NTFPs are estimated to account for 90% of the total economic value generated by forest ecosystems. However, in practice, the potential of NTFPs has not significantly contributed to improving the economy of communities around forest areas.NTFPs are often undervalued and treated merely as secondary forest products, partly due to the wide variety of NTFP types. This study uses a descriptive method. The findings conclude that NTFPs are a critical component in achieving sustainable forest management. Collaboration between the government, private sector, and communities is essential for the development of NTFPs. NTFP development must be rooted in the knowledge and practices of local communities. Identifying and mapping the potential of NTFPs forms the basis for planning their development and management strategies in alignment with forest conservation goals. The development of NTFPs should be based on local wisdom to preserve forest sustainability and strengthen local culture, ensuring that NTFPs become sustainable products

Abstract

Green Open Space can be interpreted as a space that maximises the length of the path or what is called a grove. Green open space serves to balance the ecological conditions in an area so that there is a balance between the ecosystem and the development of development in the modern era. In line with this, the government also regulates RTH and makes regulations contained in a regulation and implements programmes aimed at fulfilling the proportion of RTH in the Regency / City, especially in Green Open Space (RTH) as a support for community comfort. Based on Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning mandates that each city must have a minimum Green Open Space (RTH) of 30%, where the city area must be in the form of RTH consisting of 20% public RTH and 10% private RTH. This research aims to find out, describe, and analyse the implementation of the green open space arrangement policy in Giri Menang City Park. This research was conducted in Giri Menang City Park, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. This research uses purposive sampling technique for determining respondents and snowball sampling for selecting respondents. The variables used here are based on William N Dunn's theory and analysed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the policy implementation of the Giri Menang City Park was reviewed based on William Dunn's theory using 6 criteria, namely effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy and responsiveness, which were included in the high category while equity and accuracy were in the medium category.
