Batam City has a high potential in the tourism sector and attract tourists for natural tours, shopping tours, culinary tours, sports tours ,etc. In addition, Batam City is a destination for local people outside Batam to find work, because of many manufacturers (local or foreign companies) have established in Batam. The developments triggered a significant increase in population. As the effect of population growth, development in Batam city is also growing. It has a major impact on the reduction of green space. Many buildings have been created only focusing on their strategic location and the beauty of their exterior design. Therefore, the next development in Batam city must be controlled, so that there is a balance with the environment and doesn’t cause the new problem in the future. In other side, young people nowadays, who are in productive age, demand comfort and practical life. Staying in a hotel (for work or vacation) is a new desire for them to adapt to their modern lifestyle. To meet the demands of modern life and to overcome the potential problems that will arise in the future, the need to realize an environmentally friendly hotel is a must. Biophilic is a concept strategy modified by the addition of green plants as a guide to balancing biotic life in the environment. Biophilic design has embodied an auspicious momentum in human’s relationship with nature. The Implementation of a biophilic hotel design is awaited and will encourage the environment by using the same concept in the future

The development of a city cannot be separated from the availability of city facilities and infrastructure to fulfill people's needs. One very important aspect is the aspect of education, in which the development of these educational facilities is not only the domain of the government in its implementation, recently there have been many private roles that have made breakthroughs in the education sector. This research collects data accumulatively based on the level of education starting from elementary, junior high to high school, without disaggregating education data. The quantitative method used in this research uses data sources from the Statistics Agency of Sukabumi Regency. The data is processed and tested in advance related to the correlation between related variables, the results of the correlation test will show whether there is a significant relationship between the rate of population growth and the number of students and the fulfillment of the carrying capacity of existing schools. If the test results find a significant correlation, it will be followed by a projection of the carrying capacity needs of educational facilities for the next 10 years. It is hoped that the results of this study will become a reference for increasing the capacity and quality of educational facilities in the future. From the research results it was found that there was a significant relationship between population growth and the number of students and the carrying capacity of educational facilities. Based on this research, it is possible to calculate the estimated need for school facilities for the next 10 years which can be used as a basis for planning and developing educational facilities in Sukabumi district.

Bogor is an area that accommodates the needs of the capital city of Jakarta (Wilza et al., 2021), this high population rate has contributed to dense settlements to facilitate their lives and activities, for people who have financial limitations choose an alternative to building their homes on the railroad tracks (Prihatiningsih Rahmawati, 2018). The railway line is supposed to function as a 10-meter-wide vacant land where 6 meters of this border is supposed to be used to reduce noise pollution by using a noise barrier to achieve a standardized noise level in settlements of 55Db(A) ( Department of Public Works, 2005). The outdoor acoustic environment is a diversity that is managed and enhanced, to control noise from the environment (Brown, 2010). With the Descriptive Analysis method on Jalan Haur Jaya, Bogor City. Noise data was taken with the SANFIX type WT85B Sound Level Meter instrument with a measurement time of 24 hours carried out 4 times at 4 measurement points. Soundscape is a solution to improve the quality of living comfort by applying the right arrangement of plants to reduce noise pollution, shade, absorb air pollution, windbreaker and view barrier (Syahindra et al., 2014) in this settlement obtained Leq 100.2 dBA, with the applied plant composition able to reduce noise by 48.25 dBA, this settlement meets the standard of residential noise.

Autism or commonly referred to as autism spectrum disorder often occurs in children at an early age. Not only that, the symptoms of autism result in the failure of the brain's nervous system and sensory bodies as well as the intellectual decline in individuals who experience it. Sensory malfunctions in the body eventually form 2 characters with different responses to stimuli in a certain environment, namely, hyposensitivity and hypersensitivity. 1 in 500 children in Indonesia is known to have this disorder, so it becomes an issue that is not only developing in the country but has an effect on the world. With a significant increase in the number of autism cases, the need for space will increase. Architects as a profession involved in design play an important role in creating a conducive space for children with autism. However, the space must be adjusted based on the characteristics of autism, so that it can function well for them. This research was conducted by evaluating spaces that have different levels of stimulation in the Batam City Autism Service Center, then developing them. This study also uses a behavioral architectural approach by reviewing the characteristics of people with autism, so that the room can provide comfort for them. The research method used is a qualitative-descriptive form and analyzes the room based on existing criteria. The results of the research are a multifunctional low-stimulus room and a high-stimulus room that can adapt based on variations in activity.

Pasaman is one of the districts in the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The district capital is located in Lubuk sikaping, which is dominated by the Minangkabau ethnic group. Minangkabau is one of the tribes that is famous for its culture, language, special food, traditional houses, and various branches of art. However, over time, this art has begun to be abandoned. The entry of foreign culture is one of the factors that affect the decline in public interest in Pasaman Regency towards Minangkabau culture. In Pasaman itself there are still a small group of cultural circles who are still trying to preserve Minangkabau culture which the Pasaman local government is currently paying attention to, such as holding inter-nagari festivals. From this it can be seen that there are still people who care about Minangkabau culture in Pasaman, to preserve this culture it is necessary to have a Pasaman culture center as a forum that is able to regenerate public interest in Minangkabau culture, a gathering place for culturalists and art connoisseurs to continue to preserve culture. The Minangkabau architectural concept approach aims to give the nuances of Minangkabau customs, strengthen the image as a means of preservation and promotion of art and culture and its unique form will attract visitors to come and show the regional context through symbols as a characteristic of Minangkabau in Pasaman.

Lighting is one of the most critical components that support human life and other living creature. Poor illumination can impede users’ ability to use a building or space effectively. Library is one of the places that require good light spread so that users feel comfortable when doing activities in it. The Batam City public library is a library located on the fourth floor of the Batam City joint office. This library only has four small apertures in the form of windows for a 13.2 meter x 9 meter area, therefore sunlight cannot distribute evenly. Therefore, one solution to ensure that the library room has a suitable distribution of light is to employ artificial lighting. According to a questionnaire distributed to visitors and staff of Batam City public libraries, 82.4% of respondents believed that lighting in Batam City public libraries was still inadequate. This study used data from direct field observations, interviews with staff and library visitors, questionnaire distribution, and literature review. This research uses quantitative methods by calculating light intensity through the simulation of dialux software. Simulations were carried out in the catalogue room and the library reading room. Changing the colour of the wall surface, the furniture arrangement and the lights' placement are some experiments done to provide a good distribution of light. This study aims to evaluate and obtain lighting simulation results for the public library in Batam City that adheres to the SNI standard (300 LUX).
