Abstract

In the era of globalization, communication technology is developing rapidly. This started with the discovery of the first technology that had an influence on human life. These technological advances have changed little by little the lifestyle and behavior of our society. The internet continues to develop until finally it gives birth to new media which refers to emphasizing cultural forms and contexts in computers. In Indonesia, the development of information and communication technology is growing rapidly. The role of society is very large in technological development. Technology shapes individuals in various ways of thinking, behaving in society and ultimately technology directs humans to move from one century to another. Technological developments have brought major changes to human behavior, both in the political, social, economic and even cultural fields. In this case, researchers try to determine the formation of public information and the massification of information as a result of technological developments which ultimately give rise to new media. This research analyzes using the theory of Socio-Cultural Change. Communication and technology are one of the factors that influence socio-cultural change. Social change has three dimensions, namely: structural, cultural and interactional. First, the structural dimension refers to changes in the structure of society. Second, the cultural dimension refers to cultural changes in society. Third, the interactional dimension refers to changes in social relations in society. The research results show that humans use the concept of new technology to refer to the emergence of a technology that has an important impact on social life. Technology becomes an instrument to achieve goals. In the end, the existence of technology is used as a tool to achieve the goals of human life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cultural and religious meaning contained in an icon in the district and city of Pekalongan. This study is a study using a descriptive qualitative method with a socio-historical approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study, the author shows that the icon in Pekalongan Regency is a three-dimensional Al-Qur'an and the icon in Pekalongan City is the Archipelago Gate. The existence of these icons is influenced by the religious conditions of the community in each region. The district is represented that the community is Santri, so the term Santri City is known in Pekalongan Regency. While the city, represents that the community is a batik businessman, so the term Batik City is known in Pekalongan City. Therefore, these two icons greatly shape each of Pekalongan's cultural identities, namely batik, painting, and the religious cultural identity of santri studying the Koran. Therefore, these two icons not only function as physical representations of the city and district, but also as religious symbolism and cultural identity that reflects the richness and diversity of the Pekalongan community.

Abstract

The role of social media for teenagers is related to psychological impacts, including mental health problems. As a social media platform that is popular to used, Instagram has become an educational platform for its users, one of which is as a medium for mental health education. One of the psychoeducational accounts that uses Instagram social media as a means to build awareness of the importance of mental health is Studio Jiwa. The use of social media in the health sector has shown the urgency in providing accurate and up-to-date health information. The thoughts of religious figures also have the potential to provide valuable insight into mental health. One of them is the thoughts of Abu Zayd Al-Balkhi in his work Mashâlih al-Abdân wa al-Anfus. This research aims to answer the problem formulation of how to analyze the content of @studiodjiwa Instagram content according to Philipp Mayring's Qualitative Content Analysis theory and the dominant message indicators in @studiodjiwa Instagram content. The research uses a qualitative approach. The technique used to obtain the data needed in this research is by observing and documenting. Then, to analyze Studio Jiwa's content, Philipp Mayring's qualitative content analysis theory was used. The results of the research show that there are 7 contents from 14 November 2023 to 11 April 2024, of which 5 contents are included in the indicator category for maintaining Al-Balkhi's mental health internally, and 2 contents maintain health externally. Meanwhile, the dominant message indicator in @studiodjiwa Instagram content is an indicator of maintaining mental health internally.

Abstract

This research looks at how Papuan students' self-concept creates motivation for themselves to be confident in initiating intercultural communication for the first time. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods with data sources divided into two, namely primary and secondary data sources. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews and secondary data were obtained through researchers' readings. The informants selected were Papuan students who were selected based on purposive sampling techniques. From the results of the research obtained, Papuan students lack trust and lack motivation to carry out intercultural interaction and communication for the first time. Although intercultural communication for the first time has difficulties, thanks to positive indications of self-concept, they are able to reduce and be able to create motivation for themselves to be confident in starting interactions with friends and people around them who have different cultural backgrounds with them.

Abstract

The gender issue in Indonesia remains a major concern to this day, especially among women's activists who advocate for the importance of gender equality. Efforts to achieve this equality have been carried out through women's empowerment, which is done through various training and seminars on gender. Da'wah communication has six principles, one of which is Qaulan Maysura (words that are easy to understand) as mentioned in Surah Al-Isra’ verse 28. The live broadcast of the lecture titled "Feminism in the Islamic Perspective" on the Instagram account @nuonlinejatim, presented by Ning Uswah Syauqi, provides the understanding that Islam has long addressed gender equality through related verses in the Qur'an. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with discourse analysis proposed by Norman Fairclough. Discourse analysis consists of three dimensions: text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. The da’wah communication by Ning Uswah Syauqi, based on the analysis, falls into the Qaulan Maysura category, with the material presented based on Qur'anic verses and credible sources, incorporating simple examples so that the material can be easily understood by the audience (mad’u).

Abstract

Indonesia, which is rich in cultural and religious diversity, makes religious tolerance an important pillar to strengthen national unity. This diversity is not only reflected in people's daily lives, but is also an interesting topic that can be explored through various media, including digital media. This research is qualitative research that takes concrete examples from Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel, especially the LogIn podcast, as a means of understanding how religious tolerance is manifested in the content presented to the public. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the LogIn podcast in promoting and strengthening interreligious tolerance in Indonesia. The focus of this research is on content analysis, audience response and interaction, as well as the social impact produced by podcasts in the context of religious diversity in Indonesia. The research results show that presenting LogIn content with an inclusive da'wah approach and inter-religious dialogue is effective in reducing racism and intolerance. This inclusive da'wah refers to efforts to open a space for discussion that respects the views of various religions without prioritizing one particular party. This initiative supports the formation of a more harmonious society and respects the principle of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, which is the foundation of harmony in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Qur'an as the main source of Islamic communication science studies has verses that teach communicators and communicants in communicating. The Qur'an teaches how communicators build relationships with Allah and human kind, known as hablumminallah and hablumminannas. The success of communication is determined by how the communicator conveys the message. The delivery of the message must have ethics so that communication can take place properly. This research is a literature review that examines surah al-Qashash verses 14-19. In sura al- al-Qashash verses 14-19 Allah swt describes the story of Prophet Moses as in gaining prophetic wisdom. Verses that contain the ethics of Islamic communication with oneself, with Allah ta'ala and with man. This is where surah al-Qashash verses 14-19 become one of the foundations of the study of Islamic communication in ethics or morals.
