Abstract

Elements of street furniture are an integral part of other urban planning elements that give a city a special image and character that can enhance the identity of the city itself. The city of Gianyar is a commercial area, which is precisely along Jalan Ngurah Rai which is the center of trade, government and recreation. As a commercial area, so the physical quality is very important in this area. As a commercial city, this area has not fully improved and improved existing facilities and infrastructure, such as the arrangement of street furniture elements, which are one of the supporting elements of a public space. This can be achieved by designing street furniture that has good function and quality and is integrated with other street face elements to avoid environmental incoherence. The need for street furniture as a public open space facility is increasingly being felt and needed by the community, especially for pedestrians as a supporting element for friendly public spaces in Gianyar City to provide comfort for its users. The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. A qualitative approach is carried out in the process of observing and analyzing elements of street furniture and pedestrian comfort in the Ngurah Rai corridor, Gianyar. This research aims to create and improve city infrastructure that is comfortable and friendly for pedestrians of various groups, both in terms of access, aesthetics, security, and safety and comfort.

Abstract

The integration of natural elements into the built environment, commonly referred to as biophilic design, has garnered interest due to its capacity to improve well-being and foster sustainable lifestyles. Resorts, which serve as temporary retreats for individuals seeking relaxation and leisure, offer a range of amenities and the opportunity to engage with nature. This paper aims to investigate the implementation of biophilic design patterns within selected resorts. Given its rich heritage and abundant natural resources, Ibadan, Nigeria was selected as the study location for this study. The research employed a quantitative methodology, employing convenience sampling to ensure a representative sample from the population. Questionnaires were distributed using a census sampling technique. The results of this study demonstrate a substantial implementation of biophilic design strategies in the chosen resorts. It is strongly advised to incorporate biophilic design strategies right from the inception of the design process, rather than considering them as an afterthought.

Abstract

The participatory ergonomics approach is a process that involves people who aim to explore in depth the aspects that influence the problems faced in a group. Nurses are a professional group of health workers who have a high potential for experiencing musculoskeletal disorders as a result of manual activities. Nurse activities such as lifting, pushing and moving patients in an effort to provide nursing care require great energy. This research is an explorative study with a cross-sectional study design that aims to explore problems and conduct studies based on eight ergonomic aspects of providing nursing care. The research was conducted at RSU (General Hospital) Bangli with 30 respondents as implementing nurses who worked in services. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) is a method used to obtain information about ergonomic aspects that have the potential to cause complaints to nurses in providing nursing care. The instrument used in this research is the steps of the workshop implementation from Manuaba. Problem analysis is carried out then prioritized based on Urgent, Important and essential. Six (6) issues were raised in the discussion, including; work attitudes, work facilities, workload, nutrition, work environment, information conditions and social conditions. Based on the priority scale, the improvement of work attitudes is the top priority to be addressed and improvement suggestions in the form of socializing ergonomic work postures to nurses at RSUD (General Hospital) Bangli. This research was carried out up to the proposed improvement stage, so that in further research the implementation stage could be carried out in order that an evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed improvements could be carried out. Further research can be focused on proposed improvements for aspects that still have potential hazards apart from aspects of work attitude that have been discussed in this study.

Abstract

Abstract The increasing incidence and prevalence of cancer in the world is a global problem that requires definitive efforts to prevent it through community empowerment. The 2018 cancer incidence rate in the world is 14.1 million cases with a death rate of 8.2 million and this figure is expected to continue to increase every year. The prevalence of cancer in the province of Bali is 2.3%, this incidence continues to increase. Prevention and early detection of cancer will reduce both cancer morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this activity is to empower the community through the utilization of science and technology and telenursing in the prevention and early detection of cancer in Kedisan Village, Tegalallang, Gianyar. The method used is training and simulation of the use of virtual meeting media regarding the prevention and early detection of cancer in youth committee members and members. The results of the activity show that there is a significant difference in the knowledge of respondents before and after training and simulation with a value of p = 0.001, there is an increase in knowledge before and after training and simulation. This method can be a community empowerment method in preventing cancer, especially in the younger generation. Cancer prevention can be done by conducting cancer prevention training and simulations using various virtual methods Index Terms— prevention, early detection, cancer, telenursing

Abstract

Fluids and electrolytes are one of the basic human needs. Imbalance of fluids and electrolytes in the body can cause disturbances in various body systems. Nurses play a major role in fluid and electrolyte management of patients. Proper management will provide optimal results for the patient. This study aims to determine the correlation between nurses’ competence (knowledge, attitude, practice) and the ability to perform fluid- and electrolyte-related nursing diagnoses. This cross-sectional research analysed data collected using questionnaires from July to August 2021. The survey involved 65 nurses at Bangli Hospital, asking about socio-demographics, competence proxied by knowledge, attitude, and practice, and the ability to perform patients' fluid- and electrolyte-related diagnoses. Data were analysed using a Spearman Rank. The average value of knowledge was 16.46 (score 0-20), attitude 43.06 (score 10-50), practice 46.50 (score 10-50), and the average rating of the ability to perform diagnoses was 14.06 (score 5-20). The Spearman Rank test results show that knowledge correlates to the ability to perform diagnoses with a p-value of 0.57, attitude p= 0.04, r= 0, 251, and practice p= 0.75. The study results show a positive correlation between competence and the ability to perform diagnoses. Efforts are needed to improve nurses’ abilities in performing fluid- and electrolyte-related diagnoses.
