Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in overcoming class retention. This research used a case study method with a qualitative approach. The informants in the study were teachers and the deputy principal for curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Tempilang, West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Data collection techniques were conducted by interview, questionnaire distribution, observation, and documentation. This research data analysis technique used an interactive model analysis, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicated that implementing the Merdeka Curriculum could overcome the problem of class retention. The policy's success in avoiding class retention relied heavily on the realization of planning, implementation, and assessment that prioritized essential principles in the Merdeka Curriculum. Curriculum implementation had to be carried out by referring to various regulations, instructions, and guidelines for implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in terms of planning, implementing learning, and assessing. The success of the Merdeka Curriculum in overcoming class retention required the active role of all components of education, starting from teachers, principals, related institutions, parents, and students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of Balinese local wisdom, which is still being inserted into elementary school students learning in the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used library research by prioritizing integrity, the accuracy of sources, relationships, meaning and suitability with the research focus. The data collection technique for this research was to study documentation articles indexed by Sinta and Scopus related to Balinese local wisdom in the Merdeka Curriculum and analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of this study indicated that: (1) Local wisdom in Bali remained timeless and sustainable when applied to learning in elementary schools, despite curriculum changes occurring every five years, (2) Balinese local wisdom, such as Tri Hita Karana and ethnomatics, continued to be incorporated into the curriculum, (3) science and mathematics were identified as subjects in the Merdeka curriculum that could be integrated with Balinese local wisdom, (4) Civics and Indonesian were identified as areas where Balinese local wisdom was not sufficiently applied in the Merdeka curriculum, and (5) traditional games and values in Balinese folklore were found to be aspects of Balinese local wisdom that were not adequately integrated into elementary school learning.

The data analysis technique of this research was interactive analysis consisting of data reduction, data display, conclusion and verification. Results showed that each school's POAC stage of online learning implementation faced challenges. However, all stakeholders' synergy and active roles were deployed to overcome the challenge in each stage by providing teachers with the necessary equipment, training, and access to the internet for the learning process. Problems found during the process were learners' focus, material delivery methods that cause boredom, inadequate software, gadgets, and internet connection. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practicality, feasibility, and effectiveness of learning media as an augmented reality-based practicum guide application for students' conceptual understanding of voltaic cells. The application development used the Thiagarajan development method with the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), but it was sufficiently developed to be 3-D. A limited trial with seventeen Al-Falah Senior High School students was conducted in August 2021 on students who had been given voltaic cell material. Pretest-posttest sheets, validation-review sheets, and student response questionnaires were used as research instruments. The data analysis technique used quantitative description. Pretest and posttest results were analyzed based on normality, paired sample test, and N-gain. The results of this study indicated that the developed application could improve students' understanding of concepts. The application validation results obtained a content validation score of 94%, a construct validation score of 86%, a presentation-related validation score of 96%, and a language-related validation score of 90%, indicating that it was very valid. The application was practical because the average percentage of responses was 92%. Based on the t-test with a significance value of 5% that yielded the Sig value, the application was reported to be very effective. 0.00 0.05 (2-tailed) and an N-gain analysis score of 0.83 > 0.7.

Abstract

This research aims to explore junior high school students' creative thinking skill profile in science learning about alternative energy. This research was a quantitative descriptive essay test method. Respondents were 128 7th-grade junior high school students in Jember, East Java, Indonesia. The essay test consists of eight open-ended questions. Every indicator of creative thinking skill consists of two questions number. The Test score would be analyzed by IBM SPSS Statistic 23 using descriptive analyses, frequency analyses, one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, validity tests by Pearson correlation, reliability tests, linearity tests, and regression analyses. The results showed that the creative thinking skills of junior high school students were unsatisfactory. Creative thinking skills still need improvement in science learning. Some students had challenges finding and designing a unique creative work on alternative energy. The results of this study implied that creative thinking skills must improve by developing learning methods, strategies, activities, approaches, media, context, and interaction in the discussion process.
