Abstract

CV Arsita Jaya is a company engaged in the production of wooden pallets playing a crucial role in the supply chain of various industries, including manufacturing, logistics, and export. Wooden pallets are used as a base for storage and transportation of goods to ensure stability and facilitate loading and unloading processes. Therefore, effectiveness and efficiency in wooden pallet production are essential factors in supporting smooth distribution. However, the company faces challenges in workplace management such as disorganized production areas, inefficient layout, and long tool search times which directly impact employee productivity and production capacity. To address these challenges, this study implements the PDCA cycle approach and the Kaizen 5S method to improve workplace organization and efficiency. The results indicate that the implementation of these methods successfully reduced tool search time by 39.24% and improved the 5S evaluation score from inadequate to highly satisfactory. Additionally, the socialization of the 5S method enhanced employees’ understanding as reflected in the increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. This efficiency improvement demonstrates that the implementation of PDCA and Kaizen 5S not only creates a cleaner and more organized work environment but also contributes to increased productivity and the company's competitiveness in the supply chain industry.

Abstract

Quality scandals in the automotive industry have had a significant impact on new product development projects. This study examines the concept of team resilience in new product development projects within the automotive industry as a response to the effects of quality scandals. Based on the notion that every project must be prepared to face threats, whether anticipated or unexpected, the concept of resilience emerges as a solution to help organizations survive and recover from setbacks. Although new product development projects in the automotive industry are project-based organizations, studies on team resilience remain limited. Therefore, this research aims to develop a conceptual framework for team resilience applicable to new product development projects in the automotive industry. The framework is based on the latest team resilience theories and is modified by integrating relevant contextual factors, thereby facilitating the empirical testing of key variables at both the individual and project levels. Variables were selected through a review of previous empirical studies that highlighted dominant variables and adjusted to reflect real-world conditions. This study is expected to contribute significantly to understanding the implementation of team resilience and to support project success. It also opens opportunities for innovative strategies to significantly enhance competitiveness in the automotive sector.

Abstract

Manufacturing is an integral part of the production or material innovation process to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of company productivity. PT PT. XYZ is a company that utilizes plastic waste to be processed into paving block products. The problem is that the company does not reach the production target. PT PT. XYZ can improve performance in meeting market targets. The purpose of this research is to use the concept of lean manufacturing to identify activities that cause waste. The methods used are Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Value Stream Analysis Tool (VALSAT). One of the analysis tools used is Process Activity Mapping (PAM) with a total weight of 139.9. In addition, this research identifies activities that can be categorized as value-added (VA), non-value-added (NVA), and non-value-added required (NNVA). The results obtained from this research can reduce cycle time from 517.53 minutes to 457.53 minutes. Evaluation of improvements using the 5W1H method describes the details of what problems occur in the production process starting from humans, machines, materials, methods, and the environment. Later the cause of the production process is described in 5W1H then by taking action for improvement.

Abstract

ML UBP is a laboratory that supports students' needs in the Manufacturing Process practicum course. The aim of this research is to determine the level of satisfaction and dimensions that are priorities for improvement in UBP ML services and to determine whether there is a relationship between student perceptions and student expectations for the services provided. The methods used are ServQual and correlation regression. The method for determining the number of samples in this study used the Slovin technique with a sample of 61 respondents. In this study the data was analyzed using the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 23 software. Based on the results of the analysis using the ServQual method to determine the results of service quality (Q) value for the Reliability dimension (0.856) , Responsiveness dimension (0.867), Assurance dimension (0.869), Empathy dimension (0.883) and Tangible dimension (0.891). The average value of all attributes is (0.873) which is still below 1, which means consumer satisfaction has not been met. then the dimension that is a priority for improvement is the Reliability dimension. And based on the Linear Regression Test, service quality does not affect student satisfaction with service.

Abstract

PT Uni Alloyindo Prima is one of the industrial companies engaged in the manufacture of four-wheeled wheels with an average defect percentage of 1.5% where the company has a defect standard of 1%. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that cause defects in the painting production process and determine how to minimize the occurrence of defects. In this study the method used is Six Sigma, the Six Sigma method has five main steps, namely define, measure, analyze, improve and control. The results showed that the dominant root causes of porosity defects in the painting production process are lack of checking on raw materials (materials), Pin-Hole defects are less careful when doing work (humans), lathe defects and grebes lack of maintenance on machines or work tools. After calculating the Sigma value after the improvement process is carried out, it reaches 4.63 from the one before the improvement is only 4.43.

Abstract

PT. STE produces small bracket parts for four-wheeled vehicles. In July – September 2024, transport hook products are experiencing a significant increase in demand compared to other products. It is known that in the production process of this transport hook there are still obstacles or activities that do not add value to the company. Therefore identification of waste is carried out in order to minimize the occurrence of this waste. The purpose of this research is to identify and minimize waste in the spot welding production process and determine the takt time in the hook transport production process. The method used is Value Stream Mapping (VSM. The results of the current state value stream mapping analysis before making improvements in the form of minimizing things that do not provide added value to the hook transport production process get a cycle efficiency process value of 74%, while in the expected future state value stream mapping analysis efforts are made to minimize waste and improve value added activity by obtaining a cycle efficiency process value of 94% or increase of 20% and the results of the analysis by calculating the take time in the spot welding production process is equal to 52.85 seconds, this means that in carrying out the hook transport production process it takes 52.85 seconds/product to be able to fulfill requests from consumers
