Abstract

The design of production facilities greatly affects the company's performance because a poor layout can lead to inefficient material flow, increased production costs, and delays in product completion. A good layout in the manufacturing industry is important to maximize area usage and create a smooth flow of materials. Factory layout problems, such as long material movement distances between departments, can affect productivity and profitability. This study aims to minimize material handling costs by determining the best layout. The steps taken include calculating material transfer distances and handling costs in the initial layout, as well as proposing a new layout using the 5S method. After data processing, the initial layout distance previously had a distance of 31.49 m on the proposed layout to 27.63 m and the OHM of the previous initial layout was Rp. 19,213,161.63 per month on the proposed layout to Rp. 16,984,714.11 per month. The results show improvement, with a reduction in material transfer distance and lower monthly handling costs in the proposed layout.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of the Work Environment and Work Motivation on the Performance of SD Alam Baiturrahman Bontang Teachers. The type of research used in this study is quantitative. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The population in this study were SD Alam Baiturrahman Bontang Teachers, the number of samples in this study was 30 teachers. Based on the results of hypothesis testing in this study, the Work Environment variable does not affect the Performance of SD Alam Baiturrahman Bontang Teachers, while the Work Motivation variable affects the Performance of SD Alam Baiturrahman Bontang Teachers. Simultaneously or together, the Work Environment and Work Motivation variables affect the Performance of SD Alam Baiturrahman Bontang Teachers. The determination coefficient (R2) value is 0.406 or 40.6%. This shows that the work environment and work motivation are able to explain 40.6% of teacher performance. While the remaining 59.4% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to measure customer satisfaction with hotel service quality using the SERVQUAL method. Gap analysis was conducted across five service dimensions: tangibles (0.0002), empathy (0.013), reliability (0.016), responsiveness (-0.093), and assurance (-0.008), with an average gap of -0.014. Furthermore, the study employed the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method to assess which attributes should be maintained and which require improvement. Based on the IPA method, the Cartesian diagram indicates that attributes prioritized for improvement in Quadrant I include: the size and security of the parking area (AS4) at -0.018, employees providing prompt and accurate service to customers (RES1) at -0.012, the speed of maintenance and repair services by employees (RES2) at -0.029, and the cleanliness of hotel rooms (TA5) at -0.09. Proposed improvements include expanding and installing a roof over the parking area, evaluating the service system, and conducting regular training for employees, particularly housekeeping staff, to ensure optimal room cleanliness.

Abstract

Productivity is one of the components that must be owned by a company to achieve its goals. This study was conducted at Shodiq Tempe Factory which has constraints in maximizing input to achieve optimal output. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of factory productivity using the American Productivity Center (APC) method. The results of the lowest productivity index calculation were in period 4, which was -1.737%. Then some input productivity that decreased were labor input in period 2 (-23.062%), material input in period 4 (0.623%), and energy input in period 4 (-12.367%). Based on the analysis of the productivity calculation, improvements were made to the decline in productivity using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method. From the RCA analysis, several causes were obtained, namely lack of worker discipline, weak supervision, work fatigue, the addition of unnecessary workers, rising soybean prices, poor quality raw materials, contamination of raw materials, energy waste due to the use of electrical equipment and machines that were not properly controlled.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is engaged in the manufacturing industry. In the work process, especially in the warehouse section with a fairly fast intensity in supplying production, a proper and safe work process is required. In the work process in the warehouse, there are problems conveyed by the operator regarding the pain felt in the arms and waist during the work process. The pain experienced includes Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), which is pain felt by the muscles, this study aims to determine the level of risk of body posture during work using the Rapid Upper Lamb Assessment method, what factors cause this to happen. The results of the analysis using RULA and improvements, obtained unsafe work postures due to inappropriate tools and causing pain to the operator, with improvements to the work tools used, the pain experienced by workers subsided and disappeared during the work process

Abstract

This study examines the disruption of the coffee supply chain due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the world. During the Covid-19 pandemic, demand and delivery disruptions occurred at PT Toduri Kopi. This study aims to identify the disruption risks in the supply chain during the pandemic and analyze the impact of ripple effects on supply chain performance in PT Toduri Kopi. Discrete event simulation (DES) is used to simulate ripple effect problems in the supply chain. AnyLogistix was chosen to help analyze the disruption before and during a pandemic and its impact on supply chain performance. The results of this simulation show that there is a decrease in demand by 25%, a decrease in profit by 49.5%, a decrease in revenue by 40.9% and a total cost of 7.59%.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has driven the adoption of technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding. Augmented Reality (AR) is one such rapidly growing technology, offering immersive and visual learning experiences through 3D objects. When combined with digital flipbooks, AR creates flexiblity, particularly suitable for elementary students. AR flipbooks are seen as promising tools, blending interactive visuals with the familiar digital book. However, their effectiveness must be evaluated from the user’s perspective, especially students as end-users. This study aims to assess the usability of AR flipbooks using the USE instrument (Usefulness, Ease of Use, Ease of Learning, Satisfaction). A descriptive quantitative method was applied to 13 students from SDN 10 Tanjungpinang Kota. The results revealed that usefulness and ease of learning significantly influenced student satisfaction. These findings suggest that the more beneficial and easy-to-understand the media is perceived by students, the higher their satisfaction in using AR flipbook learning tools.
