Abstract

PT. XYZ is a trading company engaged in the multinational distribution of packaging products. To support the sustainability of its operations and performance, PT. XYZ is required to select vendors that can optimally meet its needs. However, in practice, the company does not yet have a standardized method or clear criteria for vendor selection, relying solely on price considerations. This condition may lead to inaccurate decision-making, which can negatively affect company performance. This study aims to evaluate the paper packaging vendor selection process at PT. XYZ using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results indicate that price is the most dominant criterion in the decision-making process, with a weight of 0.377. Among the five vendor alternatives analyzed, Vendor B was identified as the most suitable choice, with the highest priority weight of 0.232. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for the company in adopting a more structured and objective vendor selection process in the future.

Abstract

Surabaya is an earthquake-prone area due to its location on an active fault zone, namely the Kendeng Fault Zone. Hospitals play a crucial role during disasters; therefore, a strong structure is required to withstand various loads, including seismic loads. This study aims to compare the structural behavior of a hospital building using shear walls and a base isolation system with Lead Rubber Bearings (LRB). The comparison was carried out through modeling of both the existing structure and the modified structure using ETABS v.22 software. The results show that the structure with base isolation has smaller inter-story drifts and P-Delta effects, especially on the upper floors. The base isolation system is also more effective in damping seismic forces, maintaining structural stability, and enhancing building safety. Based on the analysis, the LRB base isolation system proves to deliver better structural performance compared to the shear wall system in resisting earthquake loads.

Abstract

Indonesia generated 4.14 million tons of plastic waste in 2021, making it the second-largest plastic waste contributor in the world. One type of plastic, Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), is particularly difficult to decompose and has negative environmental impacts. This study aims to analyze the use of PET waste in Asphalt Concrete–Binder Course (AC-BC) mixtures to improve pavement quality while reducing plastic waste. The method used involves analyzing the gradation of aggregate, asphalt, and PET waste mixtures based on the 2018 General Specifications of Bina Marga (Revision 2). PET waste was selected due to its high availability and durability. The results indicate that there is an ideal composition of aggregate, asphalt, and PET that meets the required gradation criteria. This study shows that PET waste can be utilized as a technically feasible asphalt mixture component and contributes to sustainable infrastructure development.

Abstract

A queuing system can enhance operational performance by reducing customer wait times and increasing overall satisfaction. Gas station SPBU 14.203.1131 experiences high daily traffic, particularly from motorcycle riders, leading to long queues and customer discomfort. This study aims to analyze the queuing system at the station and identify the key factors contributing to prolonged wait times. The data were collected through a six-day observation of customer arrival patterns at the Pertalite refueling lane. The queuing model applied in this study is the Multi-Channel Single-Phase (M/M/S) model. The analysis indicates that the current system, which utilizes two servers, is not yet optimal. During peak hours (08:00–09:00 WIB), the average number of customers in the system ranges from 1 to 2 motorcycles, with an average waiting time of 0.6 minutes. To enhance service quality and reduce queuing, it is recommended to add an additional server during peak periods. This measure is projected to reduce the average waiting time to 0.41 minutes. Additional recommendations include improving resource efficiency and ensuring the availability of adequate fuel dispensing infrastructure at the station.
