Abstract

The distribution of vegetables in Indonesia is still constrained by the guarantee of continuity between product quality, the minimum amount of supply, and the timeliness of delivery. Time is a very crucial factor in the distribution of vegetables because vegetables are commodities that experience a rapid decline in quality, so they must reach consumers at the right time. PT ABC is a company engaged in the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables. The problem faced by PT ABC in distribution activities lies in the delay in delivery. This delay problem can be minimized by optimizing the distribution network so that delivery delays do not occur again. The characteristic of the problem contained in this final project is Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogeneous Fleet and Time Window. The model that will be used to solve this problem is the Mixed Integer Linear Programming model with the main objective to minimize transportation costs and minimize delivery delays. Problem solving was carried out using the Python programming language and Gurobi Solve. The final result obtained is a reduction in the percentage of delays by 5% and a minimization of transportation costs by 4%.

Abstract

Currently, it is obvious that occupational health and safety culture in companies is on the rise including a focus on workers’ working postures. However, the implementation of these initiatives tends to be notably deficient, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This research aims to introduce a framework for evaluating workers’ working postures taking into account ergonomic factors and other influential factors. In this study, the developed evaluation model was applied to an SME producing kitchenware situated in Indonesia using rapid upper limb assessment (RULA), and the method was combined with multi criteria decision-making (MCDM). There were five criteria identified, namely RULA score (C1), the activity’s level of importance (C2), duration (C3), work station environmental condition (C4), and supportive equipment (C5). These five criteria were considered to evaluate five working postures on the production floor. The result indicated that based on the RULA score, five postures were categorized as high risk. Besides, by considering the criteria, working posture in assembly activity (posture 3) has the highest risk level which requires immediate corrective action. This research is applicable as the evaluation of work posture is assessed by considering ergonomic factors and the level of importance for each activity.

Abstract

Custom furniture product ordering and sales handling that is still operated manually that makes customers have to come to the company for every custom furniture ordering, where the accumulation of data resulting in loss. Custom furniture ordering information systems are designed to promote sales strategies and enhance online product ordering which facilitates the company and customers in ordering and selling purchases. The method used to design this research system is Rapid Application Development (RAD) which is the process of business modelling, data modelling and process modeling, modeling implementation, application building, and testing. Website-based custom furniture ordering information system design using HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL database programming languages, the purpose of the creation of this information system to facilitate customers who no longer have to come to the company to order, buy, view product information, as well as facilitate payment, and ordering and selling product data is organized in the system.

Abstract

Operational risk is the non-functioning of a system, human resources, technology, etc. which causes deviations due to non-conformity from what is expected. Many factors cause operational risks to occur. In this research, a case study of convection operational risks, there are risks that cause financial losses to the company. By analyzing risks, risk-causing factors, and mitigation techniques, the House of Risk method is used in this study to identify hazards in convection operations. There are 12 risk agents with 20 identified causes, resulting in 12 priority strategies, namely looking for closer suppliers, holding meetings with company operations/coordinating using language/actions that are easy to understand, creating appropriate K3 SOP, maintaining every tool used, placing orders. via telephone, carrying out selection with experts for each worker, assessing the reasons behind delays and putting new plans in place to schedule the delivery of goods, enforcing severe rules against those who break them, getting the company's diesel engines ready, creating a list of design drawings that have been submitted and those that haven't, Creating and altering design creation processes

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of using Aggregate Planning in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry. Through a literature review using national and international scientific journal articles from 2018-2023, this research identified three main approaches to aggregate planning: Level Strategy, Chase Strategy, and Mixed Strategy. Level Strategy maintains production levels at a constant level, using inventory as a buffer to deal with fluctuations in demand. Chase Strategy adjusts production directly to market demand, minimizing inventory and carrying costs. Mixed Strategy, a combination of Chase Strategy and Level Strategy, combines the flexibility of Chase Strategy with the stability of Level Strategy to optimize production and inventory costs. This research describes how MSMEs in the children's clothing industry implement these three strategies. In Level Strategy, production is kept at a constant level, using inventory as a buffer. In the Chase Strategy, production is matched directly to demand, reducing inventory and carrying costs. In Mixed Strategy, the combination of strategies allows flexible response to demand fluctuations, minimizing inventory costs. The calculation results show that using Mixed Strategy allows companies to optimize production, reduce inventory costs, and respond quickly to variations in market demand. The total costs during this period were the result of production costs, inventory costs, overtime costs, and worker salaries, reaching a total of IDR 124,900,000. This research provides insight into how MSMEs can utilize aggregate planning with various strategies to increase their operational efficiency and flexibility in facing market dynamics.

Abstract

The Post-harvest coffee bean selection plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal bean quality during production processes. Currently, this process is manually conducted in Indonesia. Implementing computer vision can enhance the objectivity of the sorting process through machine vision. An effective object detection system is essential to support a prototype coffee bean quality classification system based on NVIDIA Jetson Nano. The Hue Saturation Value (HSV) color filter method proves effective in detecting objects within a given image frame. Performance evaluation is conducted by assessing the alignment between workflow design and system operation. While the webcam-based object detection system successfully deployed, its effectively identifies coffee bean objects, it faces limitations in detecting smaller, dark-colored beans beyond the specified HSV color threshold. These limitations are attributed to the webcam's specifications, including its rolling shutter, which results in a 'jello effect' when dealing with moving objects.
