Abstract

The development of information technology in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 cannot be denied. The development demands an increase in the capability and competence of Human Resources. This study aims to build a decision support system for submitting a lecturer's academic functional position with Quality Function Deployment (QFD) so that the system is following the needs and desires of the lecturer regarding the submission of academic functional positions. The system is expected to be accessed independently by lecturers so that lecturers do not experience difficulties in calculating credit scores. The approach to managing system requirements with QFD will encourage and lead to the effectiveness of the voice of the customer (VoC) as the basis for customer satisfaction. VoC helps identify the gap between the interests and needs of customers. This shows the order of priority in designing a website for the management of functional positions for lecturers is the aspects of (1) information, (2) convenience, (3) appearance, (4) design, (5) service, and (6) security.

Abstract

In the current business activities characterized by technological integration, the role of salespeople remains crucial as the frontline in enhancing product sales. Due to their contribution, it is imperative for companies to evaluate their performance. This research proposes an evaluation model for salespersons using a multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. Two MCDM methods, namely fuzzy AHP and EDAS, are employed to determine the weight of evaluation criteria and rank 13 salespersons in a grocery store situated in an Indonesian traditional market. This study considers seven criteria: revenue (C1), honesty (C2), communication skills (C3), empathy (C4), extensive relationships (C5), work motivation (C6), and responsibility and discipline (C7). Using fuzzy AHP, criteria C2, C6, and C3 are identified as the main priority. Subsequently, the criteria weights are integrated into the EDAS calculation to rank the 13 salespersons. Salesmen SP2, SP3, and SP6 emerge as the top performers. This research provides an applicable evaluation model for decision-makers in the store, enabling them to assess their salespeople not solely based on quantitative output but also considering other criteria that may have a lasting impact. Keywords: EDAS, evaluation performance, fuzzy AHP, salespeople

Abstract

In the production process of EQ Spacing products at PT Sinar Semesta, it was discovered that there were eight types of defects which resulted in product defects exceeding company standards. The aim of this research is to carry out a series of analyzes and actions focused on controlling product quality and identifying various aspects that require improvement during the production process. The types of defects with the highest percentage include uneven surfaces at 35.3%, porous at 24.9%, and chipped at 19.3%. Using the Multivariate Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (MEWMA) approach with a weight of 4.05, shifts were found in periods 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 of the MEWMA graph, with a DPMO value of 24268 and a sigma of 3.5. This analysis demonstrates that in order to prevent excessive defects, production process performance must be improved. PT Sinar Semesta must suggest modifications based on the 5W+1H approach in order to lower the quantity of flaws in bag products. The goal of this quality improvement is to get closer to zero defects and a very low failure rate. It is intended that by doing this, the final product will be superior and satisfy the company's quality requirements.

Abstract

Currently, it is obvious that occupational health and safety culture in companies is on the rise including a focus on workers’ working postures. However, the implementation of these initiatives tends to be notably deficient, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This research aims to introduce a framework for evaluating workers’ working postures taking into account ergonomic factors and other influential factors. In this study, the developed evaluation model was applied to an SME producing kitchenware situated in Indonesia using rapid upper limb assessment (RULA), and the method was combined with multi criteria decision-making (MCDM). There were five criteria identified, namely RULA score (C1), the activity’s level of importance (C2), duration (C3), work station environmental condition (C4), and supportive equipment (C5). These five criteria were considered to evaluate five working postures on the production floor. The result indicated that based on the RULA score, five postures were categorized as high risk. Besides, by considering the criteria, working posture in assembly activity (posture 3) has the highest risk level which requires immediate corrective action. This research is applicable as the evaluation of work posture is assessed by considering ergonomic factors and the level of importance for each activity.
