Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder characterized by behavioral issues like aggression, starts before age 3 and is linked to lead buildup. Poor sleep quality in ASD is due to circadian disruptions. Ongoing therapy is needed, and cupping therapy, releasing toxins like lead and affecting sleep quality via Nitric Oxide, is a complementary option. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of cupping therapy on sleep quality in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Methods: Observational correlative analysis with a prospective cohort study approach, the research sample was patients suffering from ASD in the city of Medan in 2023. Results: Based on the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test, the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 (p-value <0.05) which means there is a significant difference in aggressive behavior and sleep quality before and after being given cupping therapy in ASD sufferers. Conclusion: There is an effect of cupping therapy on aggressive behavior and sleep quality of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) sufferers in the city of Medan in 2023.

Abstract

The technique of deep breathing relaxation can reduce the intensity of pain and improve pulmonary ventilation and increase blood oxygenation so the young man can adapt to pain during dysmenorrhea. This study aimed to examine the association between deep breathing relaxation techniques and the level of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls at SMPN 6 Samarinda City. Quasi experimental with one group pre-test and post-test model. The non-probability sampling was applied with 40 respondents. Wilcoxon test was used to analyse data in this study. there was a significant association between deep breathing relaxation techniques and the level of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls at SMPN 6 Samarinda City (p=0,0001). The deep breathing relaxation technique has an effect on the level of pain and can be used as one of the pain adaption techniques.

Abstract

Microplastic is formed from plastic waste that enters water and decomposes over a certain period of time through chemical, physical, and biology processes that then change the plastic waste into plastic particles with micro sizing that is known as microplastics. This research is quantitative descriptive research that aims to determine the morphology, size, and color of microplastics on the samples that were collected from Lematang River then particles that are already trapped on the membrane filters are then observed under a microscope. Identification of microplastic forms in samples at the Lematang River using a trinocular microscope. The forms of microplastics found in the samples are categorized into 5 forms, which are film, fiber, foam, fragment, and pellet.

Abstract

Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), a valuable source of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, tannin, and terpenoids. These compounds provide significant benefits to the skin, due to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. The chemical composition of these leaves has been demonstrated to enhance dermal hydration and provide protection against environmental stressors. By balancing Moringa with other natural ingredients such as coconut, olive, and palm oil, the efficacy of skincare formulation can be optimized, resulting in improved texture, stability, and consumer appeal. This research aims to optimize the soap's effectiveness by enhancing its properties, such as cleansing, moisturizing, and antimicrobial functions, using the unique characteristics of Moringa oleifera. The initial step involved of an ethanol extract of Moringa leaves, which was then subjected to analysis using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The analysis revealed that Moringa leaves contain eight key compounds, including 2.4(1H,3H)-pyrimidineodione, glycerol, 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-, 4,3-allyl-6-methoxyphenol, epoxylinalool, 1H-pyrrole, 2-(2,4,6-heptatrienyl), tetradecanoics acid, and hexadecanoic acid. The aforementioned compounds were used to formulate a soap base containing Moringa leaves. The resulting soap exhibit a pleasant fragrance, a dense texture, yellow slightly white in color, and a pH of 10, as confirmed by organoleptic and pH test. The recent focus resulting in the development of Moringa-based skincare product that are not only effective but also eco-friendly. Present study represents a promising approach to natural solution that cater to diverse skin types and consumer preferences.

Abstract

The main problem experienced by babies born with low birth weight is due to the immaturity of the baby's organs as a whole. Infants who are unable to maintain body temperature due to lack of subcutaneous fat will experience hypothermia. Kangaroo mother care is an innovation with an approach between mother and baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of KMC on increasing the body temperature of infants with LBW. Method: This research uses a quantitative method, Quasy Experiment design with One-group pretest and post test. Results: The results of temperature measurements after the kangaroo method intervention have increased in 30 respondents or all respondents and the ρ-value= 0.000 <0.05 from the table shows the Asymp. Sig 0.000 <0.05 which means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Conclusions : Kangaroo Mother Care is done only once in low birth weight babies, there is a difference in body temperature before and after being given Kangaroo Mother Care which is done for 1 hour (60 minutes).

Abstract

Emesis gravidarum (EG) is a common complaint of first-trimester pregnancy. EG shows nausea accompanied by vomiting, which usually occurs in the morning. EG can cause decreased appetite, vomiting, up to weight loss, risk of dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance. The psychology of pregnant women with EG will also be disturbed because of nausea and vomiting experienced. That's why EG events must be taken seriously. Limitations of the use of drugs during pregnancy must be considered. Alternative therapies such as lavender aromatherapy can be an alternative non-pharmacological therapy for pregnant women in the first trimester. Lavender aromatherapy can produce a strong refreshing Fragrance, affecting the hypothalamus's nerves to reduce nausea and vomiting. Research objective: to determine the application of lavender aromatherapy to reduce nausea intensity in first-trimester pregnant women in the Simpang Periuk Health Center Working Area, Lubuklinggau City, in 2024. Research Methods: This research is descriptive research with a case study approach. This study was conducted from April 18 to April 23, 2024. The subjects of this study were 2 pregnant women in the first-trimester with nausea category of mild to moderate nausea and vomiting, with measurement of the nausea scale before and after the intervention, using the Pregnancy Unique Quantification Of Emesis assessment. (PUQE). Both subjects were given 3-5 drops of lavender aromatherapy, using a diffuser, inhaled for 5-30 minutes for three days in the intervention. Results: after giving lavender aromatherapy therapy, both subjects showed a decrease in the PUQE score, from moderate to mild nausea and vomiting. Conclusion: Interventation lavender aromatherapy effectively reduces nausea in first-trimester pregnant women, with several influencing factors including; pregnancy history, parity, occupation, and age.

Abstract

Pain is the most common complaint found in perioperative patients, so optimal pain management is needed. Proper pain management can be done if the officer is able to know the intensity of pain felt by the patient and what factors are related. The aim of this study was to determine the pain intensity of post-CS patients with spinal anesthesia.This quantitative correlation study with a cross-sectional approach will be conducted involving 87 respondents based on the Slovin Formula. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling to determine the selected sample. This study will use univariate data analysis techniques (frequency distribution and percentage), and bivariate data analysis (chi-square test). The results of the data analysis showed that the majority of patients had postoperative pain intensity on a scale of <2 as many as 52 people (60%). Age factors, gravida status, BMI, preoperative analgesics, and preoperative pain intensity have p-values> 0.05, namely 0.623, 0.137, 0.341, 0.570, 0.620. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between age, BMI, pre-operative pain intensity, and pre-operative analgesic administration with post-operative pain intensity in CS patients with spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Anesthesia technicians in providing health services should be guided by the code of ethics of anesthesia technicians. This can certainly have a positive impact on health services and patients of course. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and ethical principles of anesthesia. The anesthesia team is said to have a high risk of committing deviations in providing services.The impact that can arise if anesthesiologists do not apply ethical principlesnamely patient satisfaction can be reduced towards the services provided, due to the suboptimal performance of anesthesiologists. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and the application of ethical principles of anesthesiologists in Bali. This study used a correlational analytical approach with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 141 respondents taken using probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling types. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using statistical inference. The questionnaire used was a standard questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.6. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and the application of ethical principles of anesthesiologists in respondents, which found a p-value of <0.001.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious health issue affecting children's growth and development, particularly in areas with limited access to nutritional and health information, such as Biak Regency in Papua Province. This study aims to measure the impact of regional language leaflets on increasing mothers’ knowledge of stunting. The use of local language is expected to strengthen mothers' understanding of the causes, impacts, and prevention of stunting, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of health communication at the community level. This quantitative pre-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design with 20 mothers from Samau Village, selected through total sampling. Data collection used a validated and reliable stunting knowledge questionnaire with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.908. The results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Findings indicated that most respondents were aged 20-35, had high school education, were housewives, and had multiple children. Before the intervention, 95% had limited knowledge about stunting, but after the intervention, 75% demonstrated good understanding. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded a p-value of 0.000, confirming the effectiveness of using local language leaflets to improve stunting awareness.

Abstract

Research shows that Moringa extract possesses anti-fertility effects on the reproductive systems of male and female rats. This study investigates Moringa's active chemical compounds and their impact on reproductive parameters such as sperm concentration, motility, morphology, and seminiferous tubule diameter, along with hormone levels (progesterone, LH, FSH), estrogenic activity, and the estrous cycle. The research, a literature review, compiles findings from quality international (Scopus) and national (SINTA) journals, Translation and proofreading: there are 8 articles that meet the research inclusion criteria, selected within a range from the year 2010 to 2024. Key active compounds identified in Moringa include alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids (kaempferol and quercetin), and benzyl isothiocyanate, all of which demonstrate anti-fertility effects. These compounds were observed to reduce sperm concentration, motility, and morphology, and to decrease seminiferous tubule diameter in males, while also impacting hormone levels and the estrous cycle in females. The findings support Moringa’s potential as an anti-fertility agent, highlighting its impact across various reproductive parameters in both genders.
