Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that is often found throughout the world and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Non-pharmacological approaches such as physical exercise, including resistance band exercises, can be effective in lowering blood pressure. However, the effectiveness of resistance band training in managing hypertension still requires further research. This article aims to assess the effectiveness of resistance band training in reducing blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. We conducted a systematic review of articles published in the period 2010-2023 using four main databases, namely PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library, for articles discussing the use of resistance band exercises in hypertensive individuals with the search keywords being hypertension and resistance band exercise and combining Boolean operators (or, and, not) to achieve a more complete search. Three independent reviewers analyzed the articles based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Through the initial search, 2,785 articles were found. Based on the PRISMA flowchart and after manual review, only 10 studies met the inclusion criteria and were identified for further analysis. The results of the review show that resistance band exercises performed regularly, especially for 8 weeks or more, can reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. This exercise was proven to be effective in reducing blood pressure, and this effect was more significant in the group that followed a regular exercise program. Significant changes in blood pressure were noted during an exercise program performed 2-3 times a week at moderate intensity. Resistance band training can be an effective non-pharmacological alternative in managing hypertension and has the potential to be part of the long-term management of hypertension. However, further research is needed to determine the optimal duration, intensity and frequency of exercise for maximum results.

Abstract

Health has a major role in improving the degree of community life, therefore all countries strive to organize the best possible health services. The purpose of the study was to analyze the responsibility of local governments for home care services at primary health care center. This research uses normative legal research methods with a conceptual approach. Reference primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The article was retrieved from a scientific journal databaseThe development of home care among the community is better if balanced with the quality of service. Apart from various obstacles in its implementation, the existence of home care is very important for today's society. Because the fundamental problem that is often experienced is the number of referrals to clinics from the local area that require clinical care. Before the existence of home care, individuals with health complaints needed to meet face-to-face at hospitals, polyclinics, and other welfare administration units. After home care was established, individuals who wanted to initiate medical services could simply call the hotline provided, making it more useful for the local area to gain access to healthcare. It is believed that home care will be the first stage of administrative data collection before referral to hospitals and clinics.

Abstract

Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) is a significant obstetric problem, characterised by rupture of the amniotic membrane before delivery, which has the potential to cause complications in maternal and infant health. Analyse the factors associated with the incidence of PROM in RSUD dr. Moewardi, Surakarta. This study used an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Inclusion criteria were medical records of pregnant women in September 2023 - August 2024. Exclusion criteria in the study were incomplete medical record data of pregnant women. A total of 200 medical records were divided into groups of 100 with PROM status and 100 with non-PROM status. Statistical analyses were performed using univariate and bivariate methods, including the chi-square test to determine significant associations. Factors that had a significant association with PROM included patient referral status (p=0.042), gestational age (p=0.014), parity (p=0.017), history of infection (p=0.001), and chronic diseases (p=0.024). Factors such as maternal age, education, occupation, marital status, and history of abortion showed no significant association with PROM. The incidence of PROM is influenced by certain factors related to the mother's condition and pregnancy, so prevention and early intervention strategies are needed for at-risk populations.

Abstract

Placental retention is a critical medical condition where the placenta fails to exit the uterus after childbirth, potentially causing severe bleeding and maternal death. It is identified when the placenta remains inside the uterus 30 minutes after delivery. This study examines factors influencing placental retention at Dr. Moewardi Regional General Hospital, Surakarta. Using a quantitative case-control design, this study compared 200 medical records: 100 with placental retention and 100 without, using a simple random sampling technique. Inclusion criteria were medical records from 2021 to 2024 detailing maternal age, parity, childbirth history, delivery type, uterine contractions, abortion history, and education, while incomplete records were excluded. The analysis of the data was conducted using the chi-square test, applying a significance threshold set at p less than 0.05. Results revealed significant relationships between childbirth history (p=0.000), delivery type (p=0.000), uterine contractions (p=0.000), and placental retention. However, maternal age (p=0.499), parity (p=1.000), abortion history (p=0.078), and education (p=0.091) showed no significant associations. These findings can guide future research using different methodologies.
