Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an essential role in shaping students' character and moral conduct. Through PAI learning, students are expected not only to understand the cognitive aspects of Islamic knowledge but also to internalize spiritual and moral values in their daily lives. Therefore, the success of PAI learning is measured not only by academic achievement but also by changes in students' attitudes and behavior that reflect their religious understanding. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of all 50 eighth-grade students, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through learning achievement tests administered before and after the treatment, as well as through observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 20. Descriptive analysis of students' scores before the implementation of the interactive learning method showed that the average pretest score was 51.90. After the application of the interactive learning method, the average posttest score increased to 87.80. These findings indicate that the interactive learning method has a positive and significant effect on improving the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in Islamic Religious Education at SMP IT Harapan Bangsa Tanjung Morawa. The increase in average scores from pretest to posttest confirms an improvement in students' understanding and mastery of the material following the implementation of the method

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in junior high schools (SMP) in Makassar City aims not only to improve student academic achievement but also to strengthen moral and spiritual values. Religious guidance is a crucial aspect of this curriculum, which is expected to shape students' character and noble morals. This study was conducted to determine the influence of the Independent Curriculum on the religious guidance patterns of junior high school students in Makassar City. This research used a survey method with a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach aims to test specific theories by examining the relationships between the variables studied. These variables are measured using research instruments, resulting in numerical data that can then be analyzed using statistical procedures. The sample in this study consisted of 30 junior high school teachers in Makassar City who were randomly selected using a random sampling method. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents and conducting documentation. The results showed that the significance value obtained was 0.002, which is smaller than the alpha of 0.05. This indicates that there is a significant influence between the Independent Curriculum (X) and religious guidance (Y) of students in Makassar City Junior High Schools. This test is strengthened by the F count result of 11.56, while the F table value for n: 30 is 2.27. Because the F count value is greater than the F table (11.56 > 2.27), it can be concluded that the Independent Curriculum has a significant influence on students' religious guidance.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the talaqqi method in the learning of kitab kuning at Madrasah Al Qismul ‘Ali Al Washliyah Medan and its implications for students' learning quality. The analysis focuses on the stages of talaqqi, the dynamics of teacher-student interaction, and its impact on students' comprehension of classical Islamic texts. Findings indicate that talaqqi significantly enhances students' ability to read unvowelled Arabic texts, identify basic nahwu-sharaf structures, and understand contextual meanings within kitab kuning. Repetitive reading and direct correction enable students to quickly improve phonetic accuracy and grammatical precision, resulting in more accurate comprehension of the texts. The method also strengthens academic discipline through structured practice and muroja'ah. However, implementation challenges remain, including varying student abilities, limited instructional time, and insufficient learning media. Overall, talaqqi provides strong pedagogical contributions to the effectiveness of kitab kuning learning and improves students' learning quality, although further adjustments are needed to ensure more equitable outcomes.

Abstract

The Umayyah Dynasty (661-750 AD) was a crucial period in the history of Islamic civilization marked by the expansion of territory from China to Andalusia, thus giving rise to an urgent need for a more structured and institutional education system. Amidst cultural intersections with Persian, Byzantine, and Greek civilizations, Islamic Education during the Umayyad Dynasty identified the emerging institutional forms and explained the driving factors behind these developments. This study uses a historical-descriptive method with a literature review approach. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Education during this period developed through a diversification of institutions, starting from Kuttab as a primary education, mosques as centers of secondary and higher education, badiah as an institution for preserving Arabic, to Bimaristan as a center for medical studies and the Literature Council as a scientific and cultural forum. The Umayyad Dynasty was thus a period of Islamic intellectual incubation that laid a solid foundation for the golden age of the Abbasid era, while also offering inspiration for the development of integrative and multidisciplinary contemporary Islamic Education.

Abstract

Understanding human nature is fundamental to developing effective education. However, Islamic educational philosophy and neuroscience are often treated as separate disciplines, resulting in a fragmented view of humans as educational subjects. This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic educational philosophy and neuroscience in understanding human nature within the educational context. A qualitative library research design with an integrative-philosophical approach was employed. Data were collected from books, scholarly journal articles, and other relevant literature, then analyzed using content analysis and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that the Islamic concept of fitrah corresponds with the neuroscience concept of neuroplasticity, emphasizing the dynamic potential of human development. Furthermore, integrating the concepts of 'aql, qalb, nafs, and ruh with neuroscientific perspectives provides a more comprehensive understanding of learners as biological, cognitive, moral, and spiritual beings. This integration also supports the development of holistic educational practices that balance intellectual, emotional, moral, and spiritual growth. The study concludes that integrating Islamic educational philosophy and neuroscience offers a comprehensive framework for strengthening contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought various conveniences to human life. However, it has simultaneously given rise to psychological and spiritual issues, particularly among the younger generation. The mental health crisis experienced by young people is increasingly becoming a matter of concern within the educational sphere. Various pressures—such as academic demands, the influence of social media, shifting social environments, and the erosion of spiritual values—contribute to rising stress, anxiety, identity crises, and diminished mental resilience. These conditions indicate that education should not merely focus on academic achievement but must also address character building, as well as the mental and spiritual well-being of students. This study aims to analyze the relevance of spirituality in Islamic education as a solution to the mental health crisis facing the digital generation. It examines Islamic educational thought emphasizing adab (proper conduct/etiquette), purification of the soul, the educator as a role model, and a transcendental orientation to cultivate individuals of noble character. Character education is implemented to enhance the quality of educational outcomes by fostering good personality traits in alignment with graduate competency standards. This study employs a qualitative approach, specifically library research, utilizing books, research journals, and supporting articles. The findings demonstrate that educational spirituality plays a strategic role in establishing an intellectual, emotional, and spiritual balance among students. Values such as adab, exemplary conduct, and transcendental awareness prove relevant in strengthening mental resilience, mitigating the negative impacts of digital culture, and fostering a deeper sense of meaning in life.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the study of the Qur'an and its interpretation by expanding access to knowledge through the internet, social media, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms. While these innovations facilitate the dissemination of Islamic scholarship, they also raise ethical concerns, including plagiarism, misinformation, algorithmic bias, and the decline of academic authority. This study aims to examine the concept of academic ethics in the digital era and its application in Qur'anic studies and interpretation. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods, this research employs philosophical, normative-ethical, and Islamic perspectives. Data were collected through documentary analysis of scholarly literature, digital sources, and religious social media content, and analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that academic ethics in the digital context requires the integration of honesty, transparency, responsibility, and scientific accountability with digital literacy. These principles are essential to ensure that technological advancement supports the integrity, credibility, and authenticity of Qur'anic scholarship while preventing the spread of misleading interpretations and maintaining public trust in academic research. Keywords:Scientific ethics, the Qur’an, the digital age
