Abstract

Muhammadiyah as one of the Indonesian Islamic community organizations has evolved into an organization for the Indonesian education movement. This can be seen from the number of educational establishments that include the word Muhammadiyah in the name of the institution. Almost all over Indonesia there are Muhammadiyah schools. This social phenomenon raises several questions. Why are Muhammadiyah schools spread throughout Indonesia? What is the purpose of Muhammadiyah in building these schools?. This question is the problem formulation of this research. The purpose of this study is to determine the aims and objectives of the Muhammadiyah organization to become the pioneer of the Indonesian education movement during the colonial period to the reformation period. The method we use in this research is the historical method which includes the study of literature, records the actual data on the number of Muhammadiyah and non-Muhammadiyah schools, and compares and analyzes the data as the results and conclusions of this study. The conclusion obtained from this research is that Muhammadiyah has played an active role in educating the nation's life as the goal of the Indonesian nation, both during the colonial and post-proclamation periods with all of his policies. Muhammadiyah has become the motor for updating Indonesian education as an expression of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan towards the education sector during the colonial period. Muhammadiyah wants to provide a new perspective that education is holistic integrative, not in a partial dichotomous area, which can contribute to the development and progress of the nation.

Abstract

Human life is very rich in emotional experiences. It's just that there are very strong impulses, some are very faint so that his expression was not visible. Emotional expressions we will recognize at every age level from babies to adults, both boys or women. For example, a child laughs with joy when his father bounces his body in the air or we see a child a one year old crying because his toy was taken by her brother. For a child, this emotional state is easier to express through his physical condition. For example a child will go straight cry when he feels sick or uncomfortable. However, if a child is asked “how he feels” or “why he is feel sick? ”, the child will find it difficult to express his feelings in verbal language. According to Plato, potentially (fitrah) humans are born as social creatures (zoon politicon). Syamsuddin reveals that "socialization is a learning process to become social beings", whereas according to Loree "socialization is a process in where individuals (especially) children train their own sensitivity to social stimuli, especially pressures and demands life (the group) and learn to get along with behaving, like other people in their social environment. Muhibin says that social development is the process of forming social self (personal in society), namely personal in family, culture, nation, and so on. As for Hurlock argues that social development is an acquisition ability to behave in accordance with social demands. "Socialization is the ability to behave in accordance with norms, values or expectations social".

The data analysis technique used in this study is t. Before being calculated using the t test, the data of the research results were tested prerequisites i.e. normality test and homogeneity test. Based on the calculation result, the significance data is 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05 or 0.000<0.05. T test result also shows that the t count result is -15,591and the table t is 1.77093 with the correlation index is 0.100 or t count>t table.
