Jurnal TUNAS adalah jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh LPPM STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar yang Tujuan dari publikasi jurnal ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran konseptual atau ide dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pengabdian masyarakat. Jurnal TUNAS: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, berisi berbagai kegiatan dalam menangani dan mengelola berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan masalah yang ada di masyarakat. Implementasi kegiatan layanan juga melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat dan mitra. Kegiatan pelayanan diorganisasikan menjadi kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Silakan baca panduan ini dengan seksama. Penulis yang ingin menyerahkan naskah mereka ke redaksi Jurna TUNAS: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat harus mematuhi pedoman penulisan. Jika naskah yang dikirimkan tidak sesuai dengan pedoman atau ditulis dalam format yang berbeda, naskah tersebut akan DITOLAK oleh editor sebelum ditinjau lebih lanjut. Para editor hanya akan menerima naskah yang memenuhi format yang ditugaskan. Jurnal TUNAS terbit 2 kali setahun. Pengiriman artikel tidak dipungut biaya, kemudian artikel yang diterima akan diterbitkan secara online dan dapat diakses secara gratis.

Abstract

Leadership in an organization's is an important factor in an organization's success toward a set goal. To answer and solve the various problems that occur in organizational leadership in vocational high school (SMK) Satrya Budi 2 Perdagangan requires specifically a training program. This,training useful provides a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of leadership. Student council leaders are required to learn to understand the basics of leadership so that later in the day leading their members can have a disciplined and responsible attitude in achieving organizational goals. In addition, this program is implemented to form shaping personality character and hone soft skills that which will be useful to them after graduate and entering the workforce. The results of this devotional activity are expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the basics of leadership. And with this leadership training is expected to be able to base or underlying students, especially student council members, about/by understanding the leadership knowledge and fostering the spirit of leadership on him in the future.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology today is very much felt by all groups, both from the government, health, education, and so on. Especially with the impact of the current pandemic, we must be able to use technology to be able to complete work according to our respective fields of work. The existence of rules to comply with health protocols in the field of education has resulted in the implementation of teaching being done online. Online teaching has an impact on teachers and students in schools in implementing learning. The utilization of technology can be used as a solution in the implementation of the teaching to be effective. However, there are still many teachers who have not been able to take advantage of it, due to the lack of information about it. For that, we need applications that can be used to manage and facilitate teaching to be more effective, such as the Google Classroom and Zoom applications. Google Classroom and Zoom are very easy to access as learning media because these applications are not paid or free and can be accessed via a laptop or smartphone via Google Playstore. Community service activities took place at Gemilang Berastagi Private Elementary School, Karo Regency for many teachers who still did not know about the use of Google Classroom and Zoom applications. The material provided is in the form of creating an account for the Google Classroom and Zoom applications, then explaining the features, as well as how to use each of the Google Classroom and Zoom applications. Thus, teachers at Gemilang Private Elementary School can understand how to use and utilize the features found in Google Classroom and Zoom as online learning and teaching media during the current pandemic.

MS. Word is one of many application that is widely used by people in writing paper using computers. According to its function, many features in MS. Word could be used in manipulating words in various form. From all features that are available in MS. Word, there are some features that are rarely known or used by people. On this basis, we, the Universitas Harapan Medan Devotion Service Team conducted socialization activities on Optimization of Using MS. Word in Writing Paper.

Abstract

Maimun Palace is a deli royal heritage palace which was led by Sultan Al-Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah in 1973. Maimun Palace is a tourist destination not only because of its old age but also its unique interior design that combines elements of deli cultural heritage.  Currently Maimun Palace has become a tourist destination for both local and foreign tourists.  As one of the most important aspects of tourism, youth tourism needs to be equipped with vocabulary skills in English.  This training aims to train and improve the English vocabulary skills of tourist youth, and to make the interaction of youth between foreign tourists and local communities so that the community and youths must be able to understand vocabulary so that they can carry out communication in English.  .  Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to increase the ability of English vocabulary for teenagers to support tourism activities, understand some vocabulary in the tourist environment to optimize the basic English skills possessed by teenagers and practitioners in communicating both orally and in writing.  The method used in this training is learning to increase the number of vocabulary in communicative language concepts.

Abstract

An interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks something or someone that is used to get a response, answer, or information from someone or about something. This training is an activity that is intended to provide understanding and ability to young people at the Maimon Palace tourist attraction to form and use interrogative sentences used in English. One of the verbal communication skills is expected to be used in daily life by the participants of this training activity, so that the knowledge gained from this training can be applied directly in various environments. The method used in this training is the lecture and question and answer method. This is done to facilitate the delivery of material and also interact with participants. The expected target of this training is that participants understand interrogative sentences, verbal communication and how to form interrogative sentences which are used as a means of verbal communication in English.

Abstract

The development of the times can not be separated from the name Information Technology. Information Technology is very important for us, especially for the Company and for students who now have to master the information technology. Being equipped with expertise in the field of information technology will certainly help students in the future both in terms of learning at their school and in the world of work later if they after graduating from school will apply for jobs at the company. Abstract

Advances in information technology that are growing more rapidly have an impact on business competition in the information sector. The development of information technology has given rise to various types of activities based on digital devices supported by information technology, such as Multimedia, which now completely dominates all communication media that we often use. It can be seen, starting from mobile phones which have now become popular smartphones or smart phones through the Android and Apple operating systems, desktop applications to advertising media already using multimedia technology. Multimedia itself is in a computer environment and implies that the media is under the computer. Multimedia computers need to support more than one type of media based, among others: text, images, video, animation and audio. The purpose of this is that a computer can manipulate text and image data that are converted into multimedia data, so that it becomes a multimedia-based computer. To increase students' interest in learning by using interactive learning media, especially students at Private Vocational High School (SMK) PAB 8 Sampali Medan, this community service was carried out. As a result, the students' interest in learning has increased and they have started to get used to using interactive learning media.

Abstract

English is an international language that everyone must understand to be a part of today's globalized world. This Community Service aims to improve English language skills for early childhood at the Bumi Nusantara Orphanage in Medan. The stages in this activity are (1) providing English language material which is done by introducing objects that are seen daily in early childhood at the Bumi Nusantara Orphanage in Medan, (2) accompanying the provision of English vocabulary to improve the English language skills, (3) Evaluating activities through criticism and suggestions on the usefulness and sustainability of activities. The output of this community service is being able to pronounce and produce the right intonation of spoken English orally.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a source of promotion for a local UMKM online through a website. Not only promotion through social media, marketing through website media is also expected to be able to advance UMKM business in ordering various small and large parties. The UMKM that will be developed through the creation of this website is the Home Industry Polo Stato, which manufactures various types of men’s bags. This Home Industry requires promotional media that must be further improved because it still uses promotional media in the form of social media such as Whatsapp, and Facebook to through information sources from person to person. The application of the CMS WordPress application to UMKM can increase sales and expand the range of promotions and can also be used for promotional media on Polo Stato.

Abstract

Applications for making presentations have actually existed since the launch of a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based operating system, namely Windows. The operating system packages and office application packages issued by Microsoft Corporation do not have significant weaknesses, only the high prices for each package. One of these reasons is the trend of using pirated software to develop, especially in Indonesia. In addition to violating the law, the use of pirated applications can cause work delays, especially administrative work. Microsoft Powerpoint applications that are used today are paid software. So why don't we use free or free applications to support our daily work activities? The application referred to here is an application for presentations, namely WPS Presentation, which is an open-source license agreement that makes it easy for us to get the software package. Thus the question arises, why don't we migrate to WPS presentations to help us design, build, and package our projects to make them more attractive. Many reasons that users put forward in terms of company staff are that they are used to the old one, and don't want to bother using the new one anymore.
