Abstract

Unloading work at the port has a high risk. Thus, Occupational Health and Safety (K3) through risk assessment must always be considered so that it meets K3 standards so that the risk of work accidents can be reduced. This study aims to conduct a K3 risk assessment on unloading work using the HIRARC (hazard identification risk assessment control) method at the Ciwandan Port in Banten. This exploration is an assessment that concentrates on using a subjective methodology with the stages of a basic review, problem planning, and examination objectives, sharing information, managing HIRARC data, investigating the report, and making conclusions. The consequence of this study shows that the risk rating that can be identified is at least 2 Low, 7 High, and 8 Emergency from the aspect of working environment conditions, activities, and mental conditions of Ciwanden Banten Port workers. So it can be concluded that there are aspects of K3 that have a high risk and require higher attention. Therefore, further research is needed regarding risk control that can be provided based on a risk assessment from the word related to the Health and Safety (K3) technique HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) at the Port of Ciwandan in Banten.

Abstract

The technology that has been developed in recent years is the production of fusion welded plates between two different materials, for example, steel with other materials such as aluminum. Combining the two materials, aluminum and mild steel, will undoubtedly produce a material connection with good properties, for example, in a vehicle car frame. However, these two materials have different melting points, mild steel has a high melting point, and aluminum has a low melting point in the inner layer. This research aims to determine the welding results and the microstructure between aluminum plates and mild steel. The Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) welding process provides a potential method for joining dissimilar metals. In this study, various 4 mm thick aluminum alloys (Al 1100) were joined to 4 mm thick mild steel (SPHC) by CMT welding technology. It was concluded that combining aluminum alloys with mild steel using the cold metal transfer method was feasible. The optimum process variable for welding aluminum-mild steel dimensions 250 mm × 100 mm × 4 mm can be obtained with ER70S-6 wire, ArCO2 shielding gas, wire feed speed 13 m/min, and welding speed e8 mm/s.The tensile strength of the joint first increases and then decreases as the welding current increases, the highest tensile strength can reach 73.35 MPa.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for food was one of the problems faced by the government. The government urges the public to do independent food planting using polybag planting media as one solution to overcome this problem. However, single-use polybags can increase the amount of plastic waste, which is still unresolved. This study aims to design the value of the knockdown polybag product and gain strength from the knockdown product design. Knockdown Polybag product design using the VDI 2222 method (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure / German Engineers Association). This method helps facilitate designing products and learning for beginners and can optimize the productivity of designers to find the most optimal and efficient problems. After determining the method used, the next step is planning, conceptualizing, designing, and completing knockdown polybag products. The result of the design concept from the VDI 2222 method is an alternative overall function (AFK) 2 which has a square cross-section, is cones-shaped to facilitate plant transfer applications on agricultural land, and uses a hook locking model, which is flexible, and easy to assemble and disassemble. The product design of knockdown polybags has been obtained to meet the needs according to those on the market. Therefore, knockdown polybags can be produced and used to make planting more accessible and reduce costs for farmers.

Abstract

A sieve machine is used to separate groups of granules based on size. Most separation sieves on two groups of sifted/filtered grains move immediately, but the unfiltered grains are removed by the operator turning the sieve sideways or lifting the unfiltered material. In addition, the sifted material is usually poured directly on the sieve wire. This slows the sifting process, and the buildup can damage the sieve. On the other hand, sieve materials, such as corn rice products, require two sizes of sieve wire holes. Design, make, and study the function, "The Sieve Machine's two-channel Equipped with Directions for Rice Corn". The specification of the sieve machine is as follows; it has two sifting channels, the sieve filter can be replaced, a swing arm drives the filter, the dynamo operates on 3/4 hp, rotation 1400 rpm, the capacity for one stage is ± 44.8 kg/hour, the capacity for corn rice ± 22 kg/hour (it's time to change the sieve). The study of engine performance on several variables showed that the smaller the lightening angle, the capacity increases; it is inversely proportional to the length of the spring and rotation. At angle 50 sieve capacity is 23.3 kg/hour, with the length of the spring being 90.5 mm, and on the size of the spring becoming 100.5 mm, the sieva capacity of 24.6 kg/hour. For angle 150, the capacity is reduced by 20.4 kg/hour. At rotation 230 rpm, 50 angles, decreased capacity, only 20.3 kg/hour, spring length 90.5 mm

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of ship engine noise level on hearing function and work stress on ship engine technicians. The data collection process was carried out within 30 days, from 15 February 2021 to 15 March 2021. This study took a collation at the Merak port of Banten. The method used is a survey using research subjects, ship engine technicians, and the object of research is noise. This study uses primary data in engine maintenance design and the intensity of noise distribution on the ship's engine. The research sample was 2 units of machines with engine criteria aged 1 year and 6 years. The equipment used in this study is a sound level meter, an object to measure the noise that has been calibrated. This research uses the descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the noise value at full rpm was 70.3-104 dB (A) and 59.2-77.5 dB (A) when in a stationary state. Referring to the data, the age of the machine does not affect the noise level. As a preventive measure against something that can become an obstacle regarding noise on board, it is necessary to use ear protection devices such as ear protection devices called earplugs. Noise can be minimized by regularly lubricating the engine and installing silencers to prevent sound from spreading to other rooms so that it can reduce the risk due to noise that causes stress, headaches, high blood pressure and other diseases
