Abstract

Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) causes high morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in elderly patients. Establishing a diagnosis of CAP in elderly patients is a challenge for clinicians considering that the symptoms are not always typical and specific. The following is a case report of a 72-year-old woman with a diagnosis of CAP without any previous complaints of shortness of breath. There is an infiltrate on chest X-ray and symptoms of cough, productive sputum, fever, and leukocytosis confirm the diagnosis of CAP in this patient. The patient was given antibiotic levofloxacin 1 x 750 mg until Klebsiella pneumoniae was found in the sputum culture results.

Abstract

One of the defense systems possessed by the respiratory tract is mucociliary transport. In order for this system to work properly, coordination of 3 components is required, namely: the motile cila, the periciliar layer (PCL), and the mucus layer. The mucus layer will catch foreign particles that enter the respiratory tract. The motile cilia will push the mucus to keep moving towards the proximal airway until it finally reaches the oropharynx and is swallowed. Cilia movement is certainly influenced by PCL which is a medium for cilia to move. In some lung diseases, this component can be impaired so that the mucociliary transport process does not work effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to increase student learning activities in learning the speaking skills of grade X2 students of SMAN 1 Kalitidu after participating in learning with modeling techniques. This study uses a class action research (PTK) design which is defined as a form of reflective study carried out to improve the rationality of the actions taken and improve the conditions in which practice is carried out. This class action research uses two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Cycle I consists of (1) action plan, (2) action implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Through observations of student participation in modeling activities, this study shows that this approach successfully improves students' ability to understand, analyze, and compile analytical exposition texts effectively. Thus, modeling techniques can be a useful strategy in improving students' speaking skills in the context of analytical exposition texts in the school.

Abstract

Law enforcement against drug crimes is mostly done by law enforcement agencies, and offenders convicted by the courts serve sentences in prisons. Law enforcement is not a definitive action, but the implementation of a definitive action, namely the application of a right to an event, which can be likened to drawing a straight line between two points. Normative legal research is carried out to produce arguments, theories or new concepts as prescriptions in solving the problems faced. The substance of the narcotics law has not provided a clear picture of the application of the law to drug users who use drugs for themselves, who qualify as drug addicts and victims. Law enforcement against drug addicts and users according to Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics includes non-penal policy countermeasures, namely pre-emptive (counseling) and preventive (prevention) efforts. Penal policy countermeasures focus more on repressive actions (direct enforcement). Repressive (direct enforcement) carried out by the Police to provide a deterrent effect for perpetrators of drug crimes. There are 2 (two) obstacles faced by the Muna Resort Police Drug Unit, namely non-penal policy barriers and penal policy obstacles.
