Abstract

The era of education that occurs in the 21st century places demands on students to ensure the ability to think creatively to solve various problems. Apart from that, the development of the industrial revolution 4.0 plays a role in the current generation in terms of technology and the internet. The aim of this research is to determine the validity of E-LAPD oriented Problem Based Learning (PBL) to train creative thinking skills on reaction rate material. This research uses an R&D model, one of which is ADDIE. The ADDIE development research model consists of 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate, but without carrying out the Implementation stage. This validation was carried out by 3 validators, namely 2 chemistry lecturers and 1 chemistry teacher at SMA Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya. The results of the analysis of aspect of content validity get a mode value of 4 with a valid category, while for aspect construct validity it gets a mode value of 5 with a very valid category, the results of the content and construct validity values get a mode score of  ≥ 3, so E- LPAD can be declared valid. So that E-LAPD media can be used in learning.

Abstract

Green chemistry is one of the elective courses in the Chemistry Education Study Program of FKIP Untan, which focuses on methods to reduce or eliminate the use of chemicals. Learning media has an important role in the learning process as a learning resource to support the learning process. This study aims to determine the feasibility of E-Supplement Biomordan from Cengkodok Leaf (Melastoma malabathricum). The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The data collection technique used was an indirect communication technique which was carried out by giving an assessment sheet in the form of a checklist to two experts. The assessment contains certain indicators that are assessed using a Likert scale assessment score. The results of the Green Chemistry e-supplement feasibility test obtained a result of 98% with a very feasible category so that it can be used in Green Chemistry courses.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of Evaluation of Prior Knowledge and Student Worksheets on Evaluation of Learning Outcomes and determine the difference in learning outcomes between high initial knowledge and low initial knowledge using the Project Based Learning model integrated with Generic Science Skills in Acid-Base material. This research has two independent variables, namely Initial Knowledge Evaluation and Learner Worksheet and one dependent variable, namely Evaluation of learning outcomes data. The population in this study were all class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Kabanjahe consisting of 6 classes. The sample in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique from 1 class, namely class. The instruments used are initial knowledge evaluation test instruments, learning outcome evaluation test instruments and Student Worksheets as well as non-test student observation sheets. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression tests and Independent Sample T-Test. The results of data analysis show that there is a significant influence between the value of Prior Knowledge and Student Worksheets on learning outcomes and there is a significant difference in the value of learning outcomes between students whose initial abilities are classified as high and students whose initial abilities are classified as low.

Abstract

Every student is enforced to master scientific literacy in everyday life because this literacy is relevant to students' ability to related issues about science and their ideas as citizens. This research aims to analyze students' HOTS literacy scores using the PBL model with the assistance of iSpring Presenter media on reaction rate material to the hypothesized value of 70 and to present the aspects of HOTS literacy that are experiencing the most progress. This research used a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. Based on test validation, 20 questions out of 22 valid questions were used (12 questions on the C4 aspect of reasoning, 6 questions on the C5 aspect of reasoning, and 2 questions on the C6 aspect of reasoning). Data analysis shows that the N-Gain value meets the high criteria, namely 70.03%. Hypothesis test analysis shows that ha is accepted or exceeds what was hypothesized (70), the tvalue is 6.96, and the ttable is 2.03 which is outside the ho acceptance area with a two-party test. As well as the results of the analysis of the HOTS aspect of literacy that was most developed in this research was the C5 aspect of reasoning with a percentage of 73.44%.

Abstract

Elective subject is the flagship program of Merdeka Curriculum..The elective subject program is based on students’ interest, talents, and aspirations. Therefore, students’ interest level in chemistry, as one of the options for elective subject program is a necessary to determined. This study aims to determine the level of student interest in choosing chemistry as an elective subject, so that teachers could find the best alternatives to increase students’ interest. The research was conducted with quantitative analysis methods and descriptive statistical approaches, using 139 students of grade 11th who have chosen chemistry as the elective subject. The level of students’ interest in chemistry is measured by students’ interest questionnaire. The questionnaire was adopted and developed by aspects of students’ interest: teachers’ role, students’ perception, students’ intrinsic motivation in learning, and meaningful learning of lesson. Content validation test using Aiken formula showed the questionnaire validity is very high, as value 1. Based on the analysis, the result stated that the level of students’ interest was included as high category with 76,11%. All aspects are categorized as high, aspects of the teacher's role in learning with 77.44%, students’ perceptions with 73.63%, students’ intrinsic motivation 78.99% and the meaningfulness of learning lesson with 74.37%.

Abstract

The use of teaching materials in schools is one of the supports in the learning process. Modules are teaching materials that students can use in learning. This research aims to 1) Determine the level of validity of the module being developed; 2) Knowing the increase in students' critical thinking abilities taught with the modules developed; 3) Knowing students' responses to the modules being developed. The research method is R&D with the 4D development model. Data collection techniques through BSNP questionnaires, student response questionnaires and N-Gain tests to improve critical thinking. The population was Holy Kids Bersinar Medan High School. Based on material and media expert validators, it shows that 84.7% of material experts, 83.75% of media experts, the modules developed have a validity level of "Very valid". The module was also successful in improving students' thinking abilities through pretest and posttest scores that were carried out and the n-gain was searched for and obtained a score of 0.83% in the "High" category. Student responses to the development of this module received score of 93.05 in the "Very Good" category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of POE-based chemistry modules has been successful in improving students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of evaluation of prior knowledge and student worksheets on students' high order thinking skill (HOTS) expressed in the form of learning outcome evaluation using an integrated guided inquiry learning model of generic science skills. The research design used is a dual paradigm with two independent variables, namely evaluation of prior knowledge with student worksheets, and one dependent variable, namely learning outcome evaluation. This research was carried out at SMA Negeri 14 Medan in the 2022/2023 academic year with the research population being all students in class XI Science and the sample in the research was class XI Science 3 which was obtained through a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research consisted of the evaluation of prior knowledge with learning outcome evaluation each have 30 questions and the student worksheets has 15 questions. The research results show that there is a significant influence between evaluation of prior knowledge and student worksheets on students' higher-order thinking skill. Apart from that, there are also differences in higher order thinking skill between students with low evaluation of prior knowledge and students with high evaluation of prior knowledge.
