Abstract

This study aims to obtain: project-based teaching materials with multimedia that have met the criteria for content, language, presentation, and graphic eligibility according to the National Education Standards Agency and student responses to aspects of the appearance, material, and benefits of project-based teaching materials on Alkena material. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) which has been modified as needed. This research was carried out in several stages, namely syllabus analysis according to the current curriculum, book and multimedia analysis by researchers, design and development of teaching materials and multimedia, validation of teaching materials by lecturers and teachers, validation of multimedia by lecturers, and then the teaching materials developed were responded by students. The average result of the validation by lecturers and teachers is 3.67 which means valid. The average result of multimedia validation is 3.77 which means valid. The average percentage level of student satisfaction with project-based teaching materials with multimedia that has been developed is 90.33%. So it can be concluded that project-based teaching materials with multimedia on alkenes are valid and do not need to be revised. Based on the high student response, it means that students like the multimedia teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) whether the increase in student learning outcomes taught by the Guided Inquiry model is higher than the increase in student learning outcomes taught by Conventional models; 2) whether the increase in the Science Process Skill (SPS)  of students who are taught with the Guided Inquiry model is higher than the increase in the student's SPS that is taught with Conventional models; 3) is there a significant correlation between learning outcomes and student SPS through the application of Guided Inquiry model. The population of this study is all students of class XI MIA 1 Binjai Public High School and Binjai 5 Public High School year 2017/1018. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique as many as two classes. The test instrument used is 40 multiple choice questions (cognitive), 10 essay questions (SPS). The non-test instruments used were observation sheets (affective, psychomotor) and questionnaire sheets. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an increase in learning outcomes, science process skills and there is a significant correlation in students who are taught by using the Guided Inquiry model higher than the increase in student learning outcomes using Conventional models.

Abstract

One of the subject matter of Chemistry in high school, loaded with concepts is Reaction Rate that be better taught through Guided Inquiry based on critical questions. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes learned through Guided Inquiry learning model based on critical questions is higher than Direct Instruction learning model. The study population was all students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin which amounted to three classes adds up to 35 to 40 students. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The selected sample is XI MIA 2 as an experimental class given the treatment of the guided inquiry model based on critical questions and XI MIA 1 as a control class treated with DI model. The results showed student learning outcomes in the experimental class at 86% and in the control class at 75% while student learning activities in the experimental class at 84.6% and in the control class at 72.7%. Hypothesis test results show tcount> ttable (8.4289> 1.668), meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is the results of student chemistry learning using the GI model based on critical questions higher than learning with DI model.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the differences and interactions of student learning outcomes with real laboratories and virtual laboratories using the Guided Inquiry model. This research uses an experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. Samples were taken by purposive sampling. Data collection using test techniques for cognitive achievement. The data analysis technique uses two-way ANAVA technique. The research results by media factors (A) known Fhit>Ftable (48.37>4.08) then Ho is rejected means that there are differences in student learning outcomes with real laboratories and virtual laboratories using Guided Inquiry models. In the initial ability factor (B) known Fhit>Ftable (14.61>4.08) then Ho is rejected means that there are differences in learning outcomes of students with high and low initial ability. In the interaction (AxB) it is known that Fhit>Ftable (33.9>4.08) then Ho is rejected, meaning there is an interaction between students with real laboratories and virtual laboratory with different initial abilities towards learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study uses Research and Development (R&D) research methods, namely developing problem-based chemistry teaching materials on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. Aims to determine the feasibility standard of chemistry teaching materials in accordance with the eligibility criteria for content, language, presentation, and graphics and see student responses to the developed teaching materials. The stages that were passed in the research started from syllabus analysis with 13 revised curriculum, book analysis, design and development of teaching materials, validation of expert teaching materials, and student responses to teaching materials resulting from the development so that problem-based teaching materials were composed of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials that appropriate and in accordance with BSNP criteria.Based on the validation results of teaching materials using a modified BSNP questionnaire, in this questionnaire the aspects assessed include aspects of content feasibility, language feasibility aspects, presentation feasibility aspects, and graphic feasibility aspects. Based on the results of standardization of problem-based modules on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution materials by Unimed chemistry lecturers and Chemistry Teachers, overall the average content feasibility obtained a result of 3.48 with valid criteria and no need for revision, for language eligibility the results obtained 3.59 with criteria valid and does not need revision, for the feasibility of the presentation, the result is 3.73 with valid criteria and does not need revision, and for the feasibility of the graphic, the result is 3.60 with valid criteria and does not need revision. This means that the average result is 3.60. Problem-based Modules on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions are valid and do not need to be revised. After the teaching materials are valid, it is recommended to conduct an assessment of students with the aim of seeing the percentage of students' satisfaction level with problem-based teaching materials developed based on aspects of appearance, material aspects, and benefits aspects. The results obtained from 30 respondents, namely the display aspect of 92.67%, the material aspect of 90.5%, and the benefit aspect of 88.17%. So that the average percentage level of student satisfaction with problem-based teaching materials that have been developed is 90.44%. This proves that students like problem-based teaching materials so that teaching materials can be used in chemistry learning as well as reading references for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in chemistry learning outcomes and students' creative thinking abilities, as well as the correlation between the two students who are taught using the PjBL learning model using Real Lab media and Virtual Lab. While students' creative thinking skills use observation sheets. The data obtained from the results of the study, namely: (1) To test the hypothesis of student learning outcomes obtained tcount = 2.15 while ttable = 1.998 (2) To test the hypothesis of creative thinking abilities students obtained tcount = 3.40 while ttable = 1.998 ( 3) To test the correlation of creative thinking abilities on student learning outcomes obtained rtable = 0.339 while r1 = 0.391 and r2 = 0.403 with contributions of = 15.26% and 16.27% in each class, the rest is influenced by other variables. So that the conclusion is drawn that there is a difference between learning outcomes and students 'creative thinking abilities that are learned using PjBL learning models by using Real Lab media and Virtual Lab media. There is a positive and significant correlation between students' creative thinking abilities and student learning outcomes in each experimental class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the worksheets student based on the BSNP criteria and to find out the responses of students to the designed worksheets. The method in this research uses the method of Research and Development (R&D) according to the Borg and Gall stages. The research subjects were worksheets based on guided inquiry learning models. The object of research is the thermochemical material. The results showed that the worksheets student that had been compiled had met the eligibility criteria according to the BSNP standards based on the content feasibility aspect, the presentation feasibility aspect, and the language feasibility aspect, which was obtained an average percentage of 88.55% with valid / feasible criteria and based on the feasibility aspect of graphic -the average percentage of 87.41% with valid / feasible criteria. As for the results of student responses to the designed worksheets is very high with an average percentage of 88.60%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of Android-based chemistry learning media developed based on BSNP standards and to determine student responses to ChemsDroid media. The model used in this research is a 4-D development method from 3 stages, namely: (1) define; (2) design; and (3) development. ChemsDroid android-based media development received an assessment from 3 expert lecturers (material experts and media experts), two chemistry teachers and research samples. The research population was all students of class XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan. The research sample was 1 class XII MIA using total sampling technique. The instrument used was a media feasibility questionnaire non-test instrument based on BSNP standards. Based on the results of data analysis, the Android-based chemistry learning media developed have met the eligibility standards of the BSNP with an average feasibility of 3.61 with very valid criteria and do not need to be revised. The results of student responses to ChemsDroid media obtained a total percentage of 97.71%, which means that students receive and respond to the media very well.

Abstract

 This study goals to determine the implementation of science-technology-society (STS) based on collaborative with mind mapping media to improve students' creative thinking on hidrocarbon material. The sampling technique used was using Pre-experimental Design (Nondesign) in the form of a one-group pre-test-post-test design in class XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class taught using a collaborative-based learning model using a mind map. media. The analysis technique used is the average difference test, the percentage increase in learning outcomes, normality test, and hypothesis testing. The results obtained from the average value of the pretest data before the treatment is given in the experimental class is 49.83 while post-test data after treatment in the experimental class is 77.66, the gain results also show a value of 0.543 which means it can meet the standard of determination value with creative abilities. developed are 2 indicators. students) was 69%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine whether there is a significant relationship between mathematical skills, physics skills on students' chemistry learning outcomes, as well as the relationship between mathematical skills and physics skills on chemistry learning outcomes. The sample in this study consisted of one class which was taken using a random sampling technique (lottery). The instrument used was a test instrument which consisted of 3 types, namely a math skills test, a physics skills test and a chemistry learning outcome test. Data analysis was performed using simple regression and multiple regression, as well as the correlation test and the coefficient of determination at the significant level α = 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between mathematical skills and students' chemistry learning outcomes, there was a significant relationship between physics skills and students' chemistry learning outcomes, then it was examined that there was a significant relationship between mathematical skills  and physics skills on students' chemistry learning outcomes. The contribution of mathematical skills and physics skills to student learning outcomes was 74.30%, meaning that 25.70% was the contribution of other factors.
