Abstract

This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Medan on the Analysis of the Relationship Between Mathematical Ability and Chemical Analysis of Students' Chemistry Learning Outcomes in Chemical Equilibrium Material. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 7 Medan as many as 7 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The sample taken in this study was class XI MIPA 2. The instruments used consisted of: (1) mathematical ability test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions; (2) chemical analysis ability test instrument in the form of essay questions; (3) the test instrument for chemistry learning outcomes is in the form of multiple choice questions. The results of this study are: (1) there is a linear and significant relationship between mathematical ability and chemistry learning outcomes with a value of Sig(1-tailed) 0.000 <0.05; (2) there is a linear and significant relationship between analytical ability on chemistry learning outcomes with a Sig(1-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05; (3) there is a significant relationship between mathematical ability and chemical analysis ability on chemistry learning outcomes with a value of Sig(1-tailed) 0.000<0.05.

Abstract

This pre-experimental study aims to determine the effectiveness of the online Discovery Learning Model the Learning Outcomes of Students in Class at MAN Bantaeng on Oxidation Reduction Main Reaction Material. The research design used is a one-shot case study. The sample in this study were all the students in class X MIA 1 MAN which consisted of 22 students. Data was collected by presenting a post-test to the experimental class. This study uses descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that the average value of the learning outcomes was 82.8, the percentage of class completeness was 86.3%, the percentage of completeness indicators was 83.90%, the average of the student response was 75.5%, and the percentage of student activity was 73%. In testing the hypothesis using the Wilcoxon signed rank test with = 0.05, the probability < (0.001 < 0.05). With this, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning model improves the students’ learning outcomes of class X MIA 1 MAN Bantaeng on the reduction reaction material subject matter.Keywords: Effectiveness, Discovery Learning, reduction oxidation reaction

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media based on whiteboard animation on valid hydrocarbon compounds and determine student responses to the developed media. This research is research and development. The development procedure uses the ADDIE model. This research only consists of 4 stages: analysis, design, development, and implementasion. The research instruments are interview guidelines, validation sheets, and questionnaires. The study involved two experts, namely media experts and material experts. The material expert consists of 2 people, namely lecturers and educational practitioners in chemistry subjects. The subjects in this study were five students for small-scale research and 28 students for large-scale research. The results showed that the developed media was valid or feasible to use with the results of the validation of material experts I with an average of 3.92 with very valid criteria, validation of material experts II with an average of 3.83 with valid criteria, and media expert validation obtained an average of 3.67 with very valid criteria. The student response on the small-scale test is 91.25% very interesting, and the student's response on the large-scale test is 85.82% in the very interesting category.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the computation chemistry laboratory works module to analyze spectra UV-Visible of natural compounds in dye-sensitized solar cells. The research design is 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). The population is 80 students in the Chemistry Education Study Program, The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Studi, the University of Mataram Indonesia, who have completed the computation chemistry course. The sample in this research is 20 students taking to be respondents for the computation chemistry laboratory practical works module with a random sampling technique. The validity value studied by Aiken V of the laboratory module is V= 0,90 with the reliability R=0,98. It means the laboratory module has a highly valid category to be applied. The value of the practicality module gained from the students' responses is with average practicality of 91%. It means the module has a highly practical category. The module's effectiveness could be seen from the students' point with an average of 83.5, which shows that the module has a high effectiveness category. In conclusion, the computation chemistry laboratory works module that is being developed is highly valid, practical, and effective to be applied.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the form of the development of learning videos on the subject matter of oxidation reduction reactions (redox) with the help of wondershare filmora software so that they can become effective media in the learning process and to determine their feasibility. The procedure taken to produce the product is divided into 4 stages, namely: (1) determining the material to be developed, (2) carrying out design and development, (3) producing wondershare filmora software or packaging learning videos, and (4) conducting a formative evaluation and revise development product. The results of the assessment from material experts and media experts on the feasibility of this learning video have a very good category with an overall ideal percentage of 84,69% each in terms of the material presented and 90.5% in terms of the media displayed. The results of the peer reviewer test assessment of this learning video is 80,9% with a very good category. As for the results of the assessment of student responses to this learning, it is included in the very good category with an ideal percentage of 97.25% for small group trials and 98.75% for large group trials, respectively.  Keywords: Development, Learning Video, Wondershare Filmora, Oxidation Reduction Reaction

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a supplement of basic biochemical teaching materials based on local wisdom of medicinal plants of the Pasti Jaya village community on appropriate hormone materials. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to research procedures according to Borg & Gall which have been simplified by the Center for Policy Research and Educational Innovation (Puslitjaknov) team, namely analyzing developed products, developing initial products, validating and revising, conducting small-scale field trials and revisions, as well as large-scale field trials and final products. Due to time constraints, the stages in this study were limited to the third stage, so that these stages were adjusted to the needs of the research. The resulting product was validated by 9 experts for each aspect of language, material, and graphics. The data collection technique used a feasibility validation questionnaire measurement technique which showed the validation results of all aspects with a very feasible category, respectively 96.3%, 95%, and 93.7% so that it was concluded that the supplement of basic biochemistry teaching materials based on local wisdom of the Pasti village community Jaya on the hormone material developed deserves to be tested in further research.

Abstract

The application of HOTS for students is very urgent, considering the times with extraordinary challenges. The application of 21st century learning skills to improve students' HOTS requires the involvement of all parties in the educational environment, and not only at the concept level, but also in the form of real practice. This study aims to determine the students' HOTS ability in stoichiometry learning through the PjBL model in terms of chemical literacy abilities. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a 2x2 factorial design. The results of the research showed that there were differences in the HOTS abilities of students who were given the PjBL model compared to the direct learning model, there were differences in students' HOTS abilities in terms of students' chemical literacy abilities and there was no interaction between the learning model and students' chemical literacy skills on students' HOTS abilities.

Abstract

Chemistry is one of the most difficult subjects for most students. There are many factors that influence the success of students in learning chemistry, including mathematical abilities and students' initial abilities. This study aims to determine the relationship between mathematical ability and initial ability with students' chemistry learning outcomes. The sample of this study consisted of one class, namely class XI IPA 2 students who were taken by random sampling technique. Data analysis used simple regression test with variance test (variance fingerprint) and multiple regression, as well as correlation test and coefficient of determination at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that (1) there was a significant relationship between mathematical ability and student chemistry learning outcomes, with a contribution of 16%; (2) There is a significant relationship between initial ability and student chemistry learning outcomes, with a contribution of 33.64%; (3) There is a significant relationship between mathematical ability and initial ability simultaneously with student chemistry learning outcomes with a coefficient of determination of 51.27%.Ilmu kimia merupakan salah satu pelajaran tersulit bagi kebanyakan siswa. Ada banyak factor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan siswa dalam belajar kimia, diantaranya kemampuan matematika dan kemampuan awal siswa. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kemampuan matematika dan kemampuan awal dengan hasil belajar kimia siswa. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari satu kelas yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA 2 yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi sederhana dengan uji varians (sidik ragam) dan regresi ganda, serta uji korelasi dan koefisien determinasi pada taraf signifikasi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan matematika dengan hasil belajar kimia siswa, dengan kontribusi sebesar 16%; (2) Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan awal dengan hasil belajar kimia siswa, dengan kontribusi sebesar 33,64%; (3) Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan matematika dan kemampuan awal secara simultan dengan hasil belajar kimia siswa dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 51,27%.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the level of validation of the learning module on the acid-base subject developed based on PBL with a scientific approach, (2) knowing student learning outcomes on PBL-based learning modules with a scientific approach on the subject of acid-base, and (3) determine student responses to the PBL based learning module with a scientific approach. on the subject of acid-base. This study uses the method (R&D) with the application of the ADDIE model at each stage. Based on the research results, the product that has been developed is validated by 3 expert validators consisting of 2 lecturers and 1 chemistry teacher. The average result of the module analysis based on PBL with a scientific approach carried out by chemistry lecturers and teachers that has been developed is ± 3,26. Student learning outcomes increased to 75.43% with a maximum score of 100 and a minimum of 75 and the average of posttest of ± 86>KKM value of 75. Hypothesis testing using hypothesis testing resulted in tcount > ttable, namely 12.36>1,69. Based on the assessment of the percentage level of student response to the module that has been developed, it is 71,31 and is categorized as high enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui tingkat validasi modul pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran asam-basa yang dikembangkan berbasis PBL dengan pendekatan saintifik, (2) mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada modul pembelajaran berbasis PBM dengan pendekatan saintifik pada mata pelajaran asam-basa, dan (3) mengetahui respon siswa terhadap modul pembelajaran berbasis PBL dengan pendekatan saintifik. pada materi asam-basa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode (R&D) dengan penerapan model ADDIE pada setiap tahapannya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, produk yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh 3 validator ahli yang terdiri dari 2 orang dosen dan 1 orang guru kimia. Rata-rata hasil analisis modul berbasis PBL dengan pendekatan saintifik yang dilakukan oleh dosen dan guru kimia yang telah dikembangkan adalah ± 3,26 , sehingga modul ini sangat layak digunakan. Hasil belajar siswa meningkat menjadi 75,43% dengan nilai maksimal 100 dan minimal 75 serta rata-rata posttest ± 86 > nilai KKM 75. Pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu 12,36 > 1,69 , Sehingga penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima yaitu hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan modul yang telah dikembangkan lebih besar daripada KKM. Berdasarkan penilaian persentase respon siswa terhadap modul yang telah dikembangkan sebesar 71,31 dan dikategorikan cukup tinggi.

Abstract

HOTS is a lesson designed to prepare the 21st century generation. Each student's HOTS ability is certainly different, and this is certainly influenced by many factors. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation, self-confidence and initial ability with students' HOTS abilities. The sample of this study was 32 students of class XI MIPA 2 taken by random sampling technique. Data analysis used multiple linear simple regression test. The results showed that (1) there was a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and students' HOTS abilities, (2) there was a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and students' HOTS abilities; (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between initial ability and students' HOTS ability; and (4) there is a significant relationship between learning motivation, self-confidence and initial ability with students' HOTS abilities with a determination coefficient of 67.8%.HOTS merupakan pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk menyiapkan generasi abad 21. Kemampuan HOTS setiap siswa tentu berbeda-beda, dan hal tersebut tentunya dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan motivasi belajar, kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan awal dengan kemampuan HOTS siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 2 sebanyak 32 orang yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi sederhana linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan kemampuan HOTS siswa, (2) ada hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kepercayaan diri dengan kemampuan HOTS siswa; (3) ada hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan awal dengan kemampuan HOTS siswa; dan (4) ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar, kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan awal dengan kemampuan HOTS siswa dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 67,8%.
