Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ perspectives on the relevance of learning ushul nahwu in the modern era. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with data collection methods through interviews and questionnaires involving all students who had taken the course. The results showed that most students considered ushul nahwu theoretically important, especially for prospective Arabic language teachers, but they felt the ushul nahwu material needed to be revised to be more relevant to modern needs. Although most students recognized the benefits of ushul nahwu in understanding Arabic grammar, only a small number felt that the course provided practical benefits in their Arabic language skills. Some students have difficulty understanding the concepts of ushul nahwu and applying them in Arabic language learning. Overall, the results indicate the need for a review of the ushul nahwu curriculum to better suit the needs of Arabic language learning in the modern era, with an emphasis on practical aspects and relevance to the times.

Abstract

The philosophy of language and mind plays an important role in language learning, especially in the context of Arabic language learning. However, more in-depth research is needed to understand the implications of these philosophical concepts in Arabic language learning. This study aims to investigate the implications of the philosophy of language and mind in the context of Arabic language learning. The research method used is library research, which involves a review of literature related to philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and Arabic language learning. Analysis of the literature shows that philosophy-based approaches can be an important basis in learning development, including curriculum development, learning methods, and teacher and student skills. The implications of the findings highlight the importance of adopting a philosophy-based approach to Arabic language learning by designing curriculum and teaching methods that take into account the close relationship between language and mind.

Abstract

The implementation of Nahwu's qawaid learning through David Ausubel's cognitive theory at MA Muallimin Muallimat Sunan Drajat Lamongan considering both supporting and inhibiting factors. This article aims to understand how Nahwu's qawaid learning is implemented using David Ausubel's cognitive theory at MA Muallimin Muallimat Sunan Drajat Lamongan and the factors influencing its implementation. Using a qualitative case study method, data was collected from madrasa heads, Nahwu and Study Text teachers, students, and related documents. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's techniques and triangulation for validity. The research found that Nahwu qawaid learning aligns with Ausubel's cognitive theory principles, including advance organizer, progressive differentiation, superordinate learning, and integrative reconciliation. Supporting factors include Study Text subjects for direct practice, skilled teachers, and the use of the Turats book. Inhibiting factors are varying student abilities and focus challenges due to numerous subjects and activities.

Abstract

The need to address the limited Arabic reading materials used by students at Madrasah Aliyah al-Bairuny is what prompted this research on comic book production. Creating and evaluating comic books as a means to improve reading skills was the main objective of this project. This study was developmental research using the five-stage ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The study used observations, questionnaires, and tests to collect data. Educators with expertise in materials and media evaluated the feasibility of the product, and 25 tenth-grade students provided feedback. Experts deemed the comic highly valid for Arabic learning with an 87.5% rating, while students responded very positively, giving it a score of 82.16%. This comic has also been proven to improve Arabic reading skills based on the results of n-gain score test with an average value of 77.26% or in effective category. Based on the various assessment results that have been mentioned, it can be concluded that the comic is suitable and effective teaching material to be used as a 10th grade Arabic learning book.
