Abstract

Stream Cyber Café is one of the icafe in Medan, categorized as mid-high end due to its excellent services, facilities, and PC specifications for playing various online games. As a result, this icafe, founded by the STREAM UNIVERSE company, has a significant number of customers. The high number of customers often leads to a crowded and full environment, causing some customers to feel disappointed when they visit but cannot play because there are no available PCs. Therefore, this research aims to address the issues faced by internet cafe customers by designing a Prototype Internet Cafe Booking Application using the Design Thinking method. This prototype application will make it easier for internet cafe customers to check PC availability and book PCs using their smartphones. It will also provide valuable insights to the STREAM UNIVERSE company regarding an application that can enhance the quality of service at their icafe.

Abstract

Many do not know that heroes in Indonesia are not only men but women who also participate in the struggle and act as heroes in Indonesia. Female heroes are also very instrumental for Nusa and the Nation. Technology development is now increasingly advanced. For example, mobile phones are owned by every group, such as children, teenagers to the elderly. Mobile phones can also be used as entertainment media such as games that can increase children’s interest in learning who tend to like animated images and can increase knowledge, so education is not too saturated. This study aims to develop an educational game that can introduce national female heroes using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) method. This development method focuses on iteration and reflection, so continuous improvement can be made that focuses on feedback. Using a questionnaire, software testing techniques focused on functional specifications and usability testing on a Likert scale. Blackbox testing can provide an overview of the program combined state and perform functional testing. Likert scale questionnaire testing can produce as expected. The result of the research is an educational game introducing the heroine, which is expected to be used to introduce the national heroine to children and students.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to look at the effect of new learning approaches like project based learning (PBL) on the enthusiasm for studying of undergraduates at Universitas Negeri Medan. In the quasi-experimental design, the Times-Series Design with Control Group was used. The one-way ANOVA test was used to evaluate the data. The results demonstrated that the pretest and posttest motivation questionnaires in the control and experimental classes of the PBL paradigm differed. The mean of pretest motivation score for the experiment group was 3.50, by input score that varied from 3.00-3.97 and a standard deviation of 0.58. The mean of posttest motivation score for the experiment group was 3.83, by a score that ranged from 3.03-4.00 and a standard deviation of 0.61.

Abstract

Well - established family communication will give attachment and mutual need to form communication patterns . For children who live far from their parents, communication is relied on media intermediaries and quite a few experience a lack of communication effective . The urgency of this research is seen long- distance interpersonal communication patterns of parents and children especially for Communication Science students at Medan Area University class of 2022 who come from from outside Medan and its obstacles . This qualitative research method uses Focus Group Discussion which involves ten parents and ten child as a participant. The result is the long- distance interpersonal communication patterns of parents and children use secondary communication patterns that is via cellphone. Characteristics of interpersonal communication can be strengthen interpersonal relationships between parents and children especially in context parenting . Ten parent participants applied authoritative communication patterns , meanwhile authoritarian communication patterns , permissive communication patterns No found. However, communication is established tend to only fulfill material needs and focus more on the mother. The role of fathers is still minimal, what can be done impact on fatherless parenting. Obstacle factor long distance communication patterns viz internet connection , busy parents and children making communication limited. It is important for parents and children to maintain effective communication in order to benefit the not lost because distance physique .

Abstract

The birth rate of babies in Indonesia tends to increase every month, based on this fact, the population in Indonesia is increasing over time. One of the contributing factors is increasingly sophisticated technology, so that a country's birth rate can be accelerated, and if this event occurs continuously it will have an impact on population density which will occur notlonly inlIndonesia, butlalso throughoutylthelworld. Therefore, birth rate predictions are needed for planning and public policy in the fields of health and social welfare. One of them is using data mining techniques to predict the number of births in Medan City using the KNN method. KNN is a classification method based on the neighborhood value between training data and test data. Thelpredictioniresults will beicompared withlactual datalto measure thekaccuracy of predictions on birth data totaling 131 data. The accuracy results obtained were 83.9% with a total of 4,413 births and 8,485 pregnant women

Abstract

The classification process is also used in artificial intelligence (AI), which is intelligence created by a computer, so that it can mimic actions like humans in general and can capture events that occur in the surrounding environment. Seeing the very high development of the international coffee trade, it can be concluded that if there is a type of coffee that has the best quality, it will be sought after by coffee importing countries. Batik is cloth that is painted using canting and liquid wax to form motifs or patterns that have high artistic value. Batik has a variety of unique and distinctive patterns that reflect the region where the batik motif originates. One area that has batik motifs in Indonesia is batik in the North Coastal Region of Java Island. In this area, various batiks are produced according to the characteristics of the area itself. Regarding information related to the introduction of types of batik motifs, perhaps it comes from people who have batik skills and batik craftsmen who best understand batik as a whole, while the general public does not really know about batik motifs. Because batik has different motifs and batik motifs in some areas have motifs that are almost uniform but not the same. One of the technologies that can be used is deep learning. The purpose of this study is to propose a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Transfer Learning (TL) model to be implemented in an intelligent system for the process of image classification of coffee bean types. The method used in this study is the PSOCNN transfer learning model VGG16 From the results of tests carried out on 2 models, namely the CNN model, the PSOCNN transfer learning model VGG16. it was found that the highest accuracy was obtained when classifying batik motives images using the PSOCNN-transfer learning model VGG16, which was 83%. The level of accuracy that is increased when compared to the usual CNN model indicates that the use of transfer learning has a good effect on the level of accuracy obtained. Although an increase of 6% is significant, but with this increase it opens up opportunities to increase even higher by using other transfer learning models

Abstract

Educators have developed a model to facilitate the learning of various competencies and the assessment of student understanding. The methods applied include lectures, assignments to be completed at home, and written exams. Meanwhile, to develop non-technical competencies such as leadership skills, a more comprehensive approach is required. This article outlines the findings of a controlled study that implemented Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to teach these skills. The effectiveness of this method was measured using the Competing Value Framework (CVF) developed by Quinn in 2004. The research results indicate a significant statistical improvement in students' ability to set goals and identify and organize activities to achieve these goals. The included literature review also emphasizes the suitability of PBL in teaching both technical and non-technical competencies.

Abstract

This research presents a systematic review of cloud computing adoption trends from an organizational perspective. Leveraging a rigorous research methodology, we collect and analyze related literature studies to identify common patterns in organizations' adoption of cloud computing. The theoretical foundation covers the basic concepts of cloud computing and organizational technology adoption models, providing a framework for understanding these changes. Through an in-depth review, we uncover common trends in cloud computing adoption, such as the evolution of business models and attention to security and compliance aspects. Organizational factors, such as organizational structure and culture, play an essential role in the decision-making process regarding adopting these technologies. In addition, we explore the benefits and challenges that organizations face during the adoption process. The research also includes case studies or examples of successful cloud computing deployments, providing in-depth insights into how specific organizations overcame challenges and leveraged the benefits of the cloud. The findings pave the way for further discussion regarding practical implications for business stakeholders and future research directions. By investigating these essential elements, this research provides a comprehensive overview of cloud computing adoption trends and contributes to understanding how organizations can manage the transition to an ever-evolving technological environment.
