Abstract

Ecolinguistics is a study dealing the physical and social ecological context where language operates, and in turn, how language and discourse affect the environment and ecology. This research tried to determine the kinds of fauna found in constructing umpasa, the functions of the fauna lexicons as the lingual units in constructing the umpasa and the philosophical value which is represented by the lexicons of fauna in umpasa. Umpasa is a Batak Toba poem consisting of two, three, four lines or more conveyed by the people having higher position in the Batak kinship system. This research applied the qualitative descriptive with content analysis approach. The object of the data was the umpasa containing lexicons of fauna which were collected by observing method and note taking techniques. All the data obtained were then analyzed by content analysis approach. The first result of this research shows that the fauna found in umpasa are birds (olive-winged bulbul, sparrows, turtledoves), snakes, fish, buffaloes, cows, mice, insect , while the second result are that syntactically, the lexicons of fauna constructing the umpasa stand as subject, subject with implicit verb and object (direct and indirect object). The third result represents that the lexicons of fauna found in umpasa actually distribute some of philosophical value, such as value of environmental philosopy, value of transportation philosophy, value of cultural and traditional philosophy, value of consumption philosophy, value of high social status in the society, and value of health philosophy.

Abstract

The results of initial observations in class XI MIPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Bangsal showed more than 50% of students were not complete in learning the reaction rate material. The low learning outcomes are due to the application of learning methods that are not suitable, students are passive in learning, there is no assessment of assignments. The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of learning outcomes for class XI MIPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Bangsal through the application of scientific-based problem solving methods. To improve student learning outcomes on the reaction rate material, a class action research was conducted which consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results and discussion, it can be seen that learning using problem solving provides convenience for teachers in learning, makes learning student-centered, completes learning outcomes, and can teach and train students' character behaviors. The implementation of the lesson plans was categorized as good with an average score of 3.09 in the first cycle and 3.27 in the second cycle. Student activity reached 85.26% in the first cycle and increased to 92.22%. In the aspect of scientific behavior, both cycles show that they are in the good category. Mastery learning outcomes also showed an increase, from 74.3% in the first cycle to 94.3% in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to determine student learning outcomes on matrix material through the application of the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model at SMK Negeri 1 Dlanggu Mojokerto class XI MM 2 semester 1 of the 2019/2020 school year. This research is classroom action research (CAR) which was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Dlanggu Mojokerto class XI MM 2 semester 1 of the 2019/2020 school year, from August to October 2019. The research was carried out through 2 cycles with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of the double loop problem solving learning model can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the increase in mastery learning outcomes from the first cycle to 86.11% then increased in the second cycle to 91.66%. In addition, the application of the double loop problem solving learning model in class XI MM 2 SMK Negeri 1 Dlanggu in semester 1 of the 2019/2020 academic year in Physical Education lessons with the main matrix material can increase student activity, implementation of lesson plans and student scientific behavior. And the average student learning outcomes also increased rapidly from the first cycle of 81.12 increased to 86 in the second cycle.

Abstract

Specifically, based on observations and initial reflections, it is shown that class XI MIPA 3 at SMA Negeri Bangsal is a class with low learning motivation. In these classes, students tend to pay less attention to lessons, the learning outcomes obtained also do not meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria. The results of the previous material test completeness only reached 66.67% or only 22 students out of 33 students completed. Based on this, research was carried out with the aim of knowing the improvement of student learning outcomes in mechanical wave material through discovery learning learning models at SMA Negeri 1 Bangsal Mojokerto Class XI MIPA 3 semester 2 of the 2017/2018 academic year. This research is a classroom action research conducted in March – April 2018 involving 33 students of class XI MIPA 3 academic year 2017/2018. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 (four) stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Based on the results of research and reflection, it can be concluded that the implementation of the discovery learning model is more effective. The implementation of discovery learning learning models can also improve and complete student learning outcomes, this is evidenced by the increase in classical completeness from 84.85% in the first cycle to 90.9% in the second cycle. In addition, through the discovery learning model, student activities become more active, and are able to familiarize scientific behavior.

Abstract

The results of the initial observations showed that the learning outcomes of students' internet access materials in class XI IPS 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Puri with completeness were only 62.1%. The low learning outcomes are due to the application of learning models that are not suitable, students are passive in learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of learning outcomes for class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Puri through the application of the Student facilitator and explaining (SFE) learning model. This classroom action research consists of two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were students of SMA Negeri 1 Puri class XI IPS 1 for the 2018/2019 academic year which consisted of 32 students. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that learning using the Student Facilitator and explaining (SFE) learning model provides convenience for teachers in learning, makes learning student-centered, completes learning outcomes, and can teach and practice student character behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of learning quality, activeness and student learning outcomes in the application of problem solving learning in class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Puri. This research is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of two cycles with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. This research was conducted in class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Puri in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year involving 30 students. The results showed that problem solving learning made it easier for teachers to carry out learning so that learning became quality, which was marked by an increase in the assessment of the implementation of learning, from 2.6 (good) to 3.8 (very good) in the second cycle and student activities also showed students were very active, as evidenced by the increase in student activity from 86.67% in the first cycle to 93.33% in the second cycle. In addition, problem solving learning makes it easy for students to master competencies. This is evidenced by an increase in student learning outcomes, namely an increase in mastery learning outcomes from 72.22% in the first cycle to 88.89% (completed).

Abstract

Ideally, the learning process should be carried out by fully involving the activities of students, but what happens is that learning is more dominated by educators so that student learning outcomes are limited. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and Taggart models which was carried out in two cycles with two meetings per cycle, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were all 36 students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Puri. Data collection methods are documentation, observation, tests, and field notes. The results show that the application of the discovery learning method can improve the quality and learning outcomes of students, this is shown from the data on the implementation of lesson plans reaching 100% in both cycles and student activities in the active category, scientific behavior in the good category, as well as positive student responses and an increase completeness of student learning outcomes in each cycle, namely cycle I (66.67%), cycle II (86.11%).
