AbstractThis paper attempts to demonstrate how James Joyce`s short story The sisters reflects notion of social and religion paralysis functions within the framework of cultural materialism at the beginning of the Twentieth century in Irish society. Religion is major concern of cultural studies. Religion as a cultural politics is a dominant factor in shaping mind as well in affecting the framework of literary text. Religion is one of the emerging issues in the modern era and forms the backbone of most literary works. Religion as a theme is seen to influence the operation of those who believe in it. It forms the functional framework that predetermines ones actions and behavior. Williams argues that each kind of activity in fact suffers, if it is wholly abstracted and separated. Politics, for example, has gravely suffered by its separation from ordinary relationships, and we have seen the same process in economics, science, religion and education. Williams defines Residual as some social or cultural practice which has been formed in the past, but it is still active and effective in the present cultural system like organized religion. A residual cultural element is usually at some distance from the effective dominant culture, but it is some part of it which is embedded in cultural system. The concept of emergent for Raymond Williams means the creation of new meaning and values, new cultural practices and new relationships within the dominant structure. It is important to distinguish between those emergent which are elements of new stage of the dominant culture and those which are actually other element or oppositional to dominant system. This study aims to argue that paralysis is a problem and a solution and that sometimes what appears to be an escape from paralysis merely reinforces its negative manifestation. Paralysis cannot be avoided. Rather, it is something that should be engaged and used to redefine individual and social states.

One product of technology that can be used to develop teaching materials for the learning process is interactive multimedia which is a combination of various media in the form of text, graphics, audio, and interactions that are used to convey information messages from sender to receiver equipped with a controller which can be operated by the user. Efforts can be made to make learning effective one of which is the use of multimedia in interactive learning. Tritech Vocational School which will be the target of research is Information Technology Vocational High School. This school has implemented a learning system that utilizes technology as a medium and aids in learning activities, but not all subject teachers apply the same thing. Indonesian language learning in particular still uses teaching books as a guide and the only source of learning. This is one of the causes of learning activities in Indonesian language subjects tend to be monotonous and boring, because learning activities are still teacher-centered, so there is no interaction with students. This method of research is development research (Research and Development) which is a study used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. This research develops Indonesian language teaching materials in interactive multimedia-based negotiating text material for grade 10th in Tritech Informatika vocational Highschool, Medan, North Sumatera, Indoneisa.

This paper focuses on strengths and weaknesses of the Cognitive Theory. Many theories have been proposed over the years to explain the developmental changes that people undergo over the course of their lives. These theories differ in the conceptions of human nature they adopt and in what they regard to be the basic causes and mechanisms of human motivation and behavior. Piaget's theory of cognitive development explains how a child constructs a mental model of the world. He disagreed with the idea that intelligence was a fixed trait, and regarded cognitive development as a process which occurs due to biological maturation and interaction with the environment. Cognitive learning theory is best used to guide learning when trying to build usefulness Knowledge structures, and clinical reasoning teaching. The theory suggests that Clinical exercise is crucial to the organization of Memory Knowledge and Recall Facilitation. This means teachers will be expected to be aware of prior clinical experiences of the learner before assessing the learner’s experience Powerful performance.

This paper examines the dynamics of gender-differentiated effects of economic resilience on rural livelihoods and infrastructure improvements of the Tonga people who predominantly resides in North Western Zimbabwe. The paper interrogates men and women’s empowerment as well as their roles of transforming their lives through engaging in various economic activities and infrastructural development in Mola, Nyaminyami District, Zimbabwe. This study uses a qualitative research approach which is backed by both primary and secondary data collection methods which are underpinned by mixed methods approach involving observation, focus group discussions with community members and in-depth interviews with community leaders and key stakeholders. The study proffers that while economic resilience affects both men and women, it disproportionately affects the amount of work women have to do which has a profound bearing on their ability to innovate and transform their obsolete infrastructure at their disposal. Hence, the study recommends ways to foreground gender mainstreaming in order to address emerging gender related challenges emanating from stereotyping and prejudice, stakeholder engagement and partnerships in revamping existing infrastructure.

It is an agreement of the ummah, that what Allah revealed in the Al-Qur'an and also what was conveyed by the Messenger of Allah in the Hadith are the basic sources of Islamic law. The two sources, of which there is an order (Amr), this Amr has various meanings such as obligatory, mustahab and others. In this study, the researcher attempted to describe the views of the scholars of jurisprudence in understanding the meaning of amar and its implications for one of the Islamic laws, and here the researcher took one case, namely the practice of worship during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Although most of the Ulama proposing fiqh are of the view that amr basically has a mandatory meaning unless there is a qarinah, in practice there are differences between them. In this study, the researcher used an analytic descriptive method in which after the researcher described the views of the Ulama with regard to the meaning of amr, the designation of the meaning of amar and the legal implications of practicing worship during the Covid-19 Pandemic, considering that at this time there were differences in worship practices that had never happened before Furthermore, the researcher provides some analysis of what the researchers understand based on the views of scholars and experts in this matter.
