Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze how the three national news television stations, MetroTV, KompasTV, and TVOne, tend to construct the news reality about Islamic organizations of Islamic Defenders Front in the period 2016-2017. The research method focuses on gathering, analyzing media content (framing studies), and mixing quantitative and qualitative data in one study or series of studies. The main premise is the use of mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, by providing an understanding of better research problems because it uses two approaches at once. The main instrument in this research was the researchers themselves who collected data through websites from three selected television media, in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and carried out relevant documentation studies related to objects of the research such as literature, BlogSpot, internet (online), e- journals, and reports of similar research results that are considered relevant. The results of this research show that the three news television stations studied, there were MetroTV, KompasTV, and TVOne has carried out construction on all the news that entered the newsroom, including news about the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). Constructivist approaches assess that partiality and certain values cannot be eliminated from media coverage. Ethics, moral choice, and journalist and media alignments are the integral parts of news production. Ethics and morals in many ways mean partiality to one group or partiality to certain values. And it is generally based on certain beliefs as well. In addition, there were framing models that tended to be carried out by MetroTV, KompasTV, and TVOne. The framing model that tends to be carried out by the three news television media also tends to be different. From the models, the message and meaning are different from the audience or television viewers.

Abstract

This research is intended as a reference for the learning system of social researchers in the Faculty of Social Sciences Political Science (FISIP), especially the Public Administration Study Program (IAP) so that they are better in learning. Monotonous conditions and the low arrest of students in important subjects such as the Social Research Method (MPS) make researchers interested in offering a new learning method by the name of a peer tutor who prefers activeness between smart students and those who are less smart to get together actively discuss and prepare course material offered. The results showed that the Peer Tutor learning method has succeeded in increasing student mastery to a better level if it cannot be said to be maximized through increasing student participation in learning and mastery of MPS material. This can be shown by the increased activity of students in terms of group work and discussions between groups conducted and the value of the pretest and posttest taken. Students have the spirit of dancing and perfecting the material given by lecturers, discussing preparing the best powerpoints, they also have the courage to ask and answer questions, discuss and work together with fellow group members to make powerpoints and present in front of the class. Increased mastery of MPS material can be seen from the ability to answer questions at the time of discussion and the acquisition of students' values before being given action after being given. The increase occurred also from cycle one to cycle two. In addition, these peer tutors provide activeness to students from preparing material in limited discussions in their respective groups and after getting the opportunity to present their work and help other groups defend their arguments in inter-group discussions. This method can be used as an alternative mastery of MPS material for future IAP students. Finally the researcher would like to thank all those who have helped with this research process.

Abstract

This research presents the latest information on the analysis of Islamic law on the practice of fulfilling the rights of wives and children in the household among the Tablighi Jama'ah. This research is presented in a qualitative form with the approach of sociology of law (Islamic law). This study uses Islamic law (mashlahat theory) as an analysis tool in analyzing research data. In the end, this study concluded that the rights and obligations of husband and wife and children in the household among the Tablighi Jama'ah were actually subject to and did not differ from the provisions of Law No. 1 of 1974, KHI and so from the opinion of Imam Shafi'i, although in reality related to the Tablighi Jama'ah policy, especially when selecting members who want to leave the khuruj still needs to be improved so that there are no more members of the jama'ah who are mentally incapable, especially financially making khuruj, so this does not impact on the non-implementation of the obligations of the husband in the household and the poor image of preaching khuruj in the midst of society, especially the city of Medan.

Abstract

Wakaf is a philanthropic institution that is quite old in Islamic history. The purpose of the existence of wakaf is not only just taqarrub to Allah SWT, but also gives the economic impact of wakaf objects. Wakaf is one of the solutions given by Allah to eliminate the gap between rich and poor people. Indeed wakaf has a very high economic potential in the welfare of the people. Through cash wakaf or wakaf cash investment in wakaf property in the form of plantations and others indicates that Islam does not leave its people in poverty. Based on this, the wakaf should no longer be oriented towards mosques, madrassah, burial ground, but rather towards a more productive direction producing new economic resources intended for the welfare of the people.

Abstract

The City Strategic Area (KSK) is a strategic area compiled by the City in developing the area as seen from aspects of the Economy, Social Culture, the environment and others. Medan City Government through the Regional Planning and Development Agency of Medan City Establishes several Strategic Areas in Medan City through the 2016-2021 Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Medan City including the Social and Cultural Strategic Area (KSK). This study uses a research method with a qualitative descriptive approach.Among them are Identification of Potential and Problems, Program Identification and using P3 (Arrangement, Supervision and Coaching). The research results show that the Medan City Government has implemented P3 through the elaboration of the RTRW trip that has been running for 4 years. However, it is still constrained by the process of guidance and supervision. Because some of these regional assets are not fully owned by the City Government but are owned by tribes and companies. Based on SWOT analysis Strength 1.26 while weakness factor 1.23 and Opportunity with a total score of 1.84 while Challenge 1.85, then the placement of cartesius diagrams of several Strategic Cities that are the locations of research are in Diversification Strategy which means the City Strategic Area Supervision (SCC) has the potential to be developed but still some need to be prepared strategically and improve management by the Medan City Government

Abstract

Weighing the child's weight every month to find out the nutritional status of children is one of the routine activities at the Posyandu. One effort to reduce the problem of malnutrition in children is to increase the participation of mothers in visiting and weighing their children to the Posyandu every month. This study aims to determine the relationship of the number of Posyandu visits with the nutritional status of children under five (1-5 years). This study uses a descriptive correlation design with a retrospective approach. The study was conducted in the working area of the Amplas Health Center with a sample of 382 mothers and children under five years old using proportional random sampling technique based on the number of Posyandu. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire for demographic data and a child's weight-weighing registration book. The analysis used is univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square. The results showed that 145 people (38%) regularly visited Posyandu and 237 people (62%) did not regularly visit Posyandu. Children who have good nutritional status are 203 people (53.1%), malnutrition is 109 people (28.5%), and malnutrition is 70 people (18.3%). The bivariate analysis results obtained p value (0.00) <ɑ (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a correlation between the number of Posyandu visits and the nutritional status of children under five. Suggestions for puskesmas staff to be able to conduct training and health education to cadres and improve health facilities in Posyandu.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to find out E.Coli Analysis of Settlement without Slums in Deli River Watershed, Hamdan Sub-District, Medan Maimun. The results shows that  E. Colli Laboratory amounting to 21420 - 36540/100 ml, still above the quality standards set by PP No.82 of 2001 concerning the management of water quality and control of water pollution. The results of the analysis of Total Coliform Laboratory of 198630 - 241960/100 ml, are still above the quality standards set by PP No.82 of 2001 concerning the management of water quality and control of water pollution. Alternative water treatment needs to be done before structuring buildings around the river location by means of filtration treatment and disinfecting.
