Abstract

The 2025 KKN-T Program Group 4 Pangkemiri Village carries the theme "Optimizing Early Childhood Growth and Development" through health screening activities, dental examinations, and psychological counseling related to the recognition of children's interests and talents. This activity was carried out at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 3 Pangkemiri Kindergarten and Baiturrohim Mosque by involving medical personnel, psychologists, teachers, and parents. The results of the activity showed that around 15% of children had nutritional problems and 40% of children had dental problems, so follow-up in the form of referrals and education was needed. In addition, psychology counseling helps parents and teachers understand the importance of recognizing children's potential from an early age. The evaluation of the activity showed an increase in the awareness of parents (85%) and children (70%) towards physical and psychological health. Overall, this program has succeeded in providing real benefits and emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration in supporting children's growth and development holistically. Highlights: 15% of children had nutritional issues, 40% had dental problems → follow-up needed. Counseling improved parents’ and teachers’ understanding of children’s potential. Awareness increased: parents (85%) and children (70%) on health and development. Keywords: Child growth and development, health screening, dental examination, interests and talents, KKN-T, Pangkemiri Village.

Abstract

This study examines the architectural and cultural significance of the 18th-century Qori-khona in Kagan, currently functioning as the Naqshbandiya Museum, within the framework of Islamic educational architecture and Sufi traditions in Central Asia. The research addresses a critical gap in existing scholarship, which has predominantly focused on monumental madrasas and earlier historical periods while overlooking smaller-scale religious-educational structures and their contextual integration within the Naqshbandiya spiritual tradition. The investigation employed a qualitative methodology combining architectural analysis, field documentation, spatial surveys, and critical examination of historical and visual sources to evaluate the building's design principles, spatial organization, and adaptive reuse as a museum facility. Findings reveal that the Qori-khona exemplifies the Bukhara architectural school through its modest peshtaq, inward-oriented courtyard layout, minimalist ornamentation, and compact hujra configuration, all reflecting Naqshbandiya values of spiritual discipline, modesty, and contemplative concentration. The architectural composition demonstrates deliberate restraint in decoration and proportional harmony aligned with Sufi educational practices rather than syncretic or symbolic interpretations previously suggested in literature. The novelty of this research lies in establishing the Qori-khona as a coherent Islamic educational space rooted specifically in 18th-century Sufi architectural conventions, challenging generalized or chronologically imprecise characterizations. These findings contribute theoretical understanding of later-period Sufi architecture in Central Asia and provide practical implications for heritage conservation, demonstrating how adaptive reuse can maintain architectural integrity while extending the educational mission of religious monuments through contemporary museological frameworks. Keywords: Qori-khona architecture; Naqshbandiya Sufism; Bukhara architectural school; Islamic educational buildings; Central Asian heritage preservation; 18th-century religious monumentsHighlight :  The Qori-khona demonstrates coherent 18th-century Islamic educational architecture aligned with Naqshbandiya Sufi principles. Abstract

General Background: Villages play a strategic role in Indonesia’s governance structure, particularly in delivering development and public services at the grassroots level. Specific Background: Regulatory changes extending village head tenure from six to eight years aim to provide leadership continuity, as implemented in Tanggulangin Village, Sidoarjo. Knowledge Gap: Empirical discussions on how extended tenure translates into tangible community welfare outcomes, especially under crisis conditions, remain limited. Aims: This study examines how extended village head tenure relates to community welfare in Tanggulangin. Results: Interview-based findings indicate that longer tenure allows completion of delayed programs, sustained infrastructure development, improved public services, and consistent economic empowerment initiatives, despite challenges such as leadership stagnation and technological adaptation. Novelty: The study highlights extended tenure as a governance mechanism enabling recovery and program continuity during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Implications: The findings inform policymakers on balancing leadership continuity with accountability to support sustainable village development and community welfare.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has intensified concerns regarding children’s gadget use and its implications for learning outcomes, particularly in religious education contexts. In elementary education, inappropriate gadget exposure is often associated with declining academic performance, while guided use may offer educational benefits. This study aims to examine the relationship between gadget use and learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education among elementary school children. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 20 elementary school students aged 6–11 years. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring gadget use, academic documentation of learning achievement, parental interviews, and structured observations. Statistical analysis was conducted using Pearson product–moment correlation with the assistance of SPSS. The results reveal a statistically significant and positive relationship between gadget use and Islamic education learning achievement, indicated by a perfect correlation coefficient (r = 1.000, p < 0.05). These findings suggest that gadget use, when regulated and supervised by parents, can support cognitive development and enhance learning outcomes in religious education. The novelty of this study lies in its community-based focus, integrating home supervision, village context, and religious learning achievement rather than school-centered analysis alone. The findings contribute to the growing literature on digital technology in education by highlighting the conditional benefits of gadget use in elementary Islamic education. Practically, the study underscores the importance of parental guidance and balanced digital engagement to optimize educational outcomes, while theoretically reinforcing the role of contextual and social factors in technology-supported learning.

Abstract

General Background: Digital governance has become a strategic instrument in strengthening transparency and public services at the village level in Indonesia. Specific Background: The Village Information System (SID) was introduced to support data management and administrative services; however, its utilization in many villages remains limited. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies largely focus on technical implementation or community response, while in-depth analysis of village officials’ human resource quality remains underexplored. Aims: This study aims to examine the quality of village apparatus human resources in implementing SID in Gemurung Village, Sidoarjo Regency, using indicators of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Results: The findings show that village officials generally understand SID functions, yet their knowledge and digital mastery are not optimal due to limited training and educational mismatch. Skills related to innovation and creativity are still low, as SID usage is confined to basic features. Nevertheless, SID supports accurate data processing and informed decision-making. Novelty: This study offers a human resource–centered perspective on SID implementation at the village level. Implications: Strengthening continuous training and digital capacity building is essential to optimize SID utilization and improve village governance.

Abstract

General Background: Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) are strategic instruments for strengthening rural economies through community-based tourism management. Specific Background: In Tambakcemandi Village, the BUMDes-managed river tourism and Café Kalitikung represent local initiatives to utilize natural resources for economic development, yet face managerial, human resource, and funding challenges. Knowledge Gap: Empirical studies that comprehensively explain the concrete roles of BUMDes administrators in managing village tourism using role-based theoretical perspectives remain limited. Aim: This study aims to analyze the roles of BUMDes administrators in managing river tourism and Café Kalitikung in Tambakcemandi Village. Results: Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the findings show that BUMDes administrators perform three main roles: facilitator through provision of tourism infrastructure, mobilisator by engaging local resources and promoting environmental awareness, and regulator by establishing operational policies and environmental management rules. Novelty: This study offers a role-based analytical framework grounded in Edy Suhardono’s theory to explain village tourism governance at the operational level. Implications: The findings provide practical insights for village governments and BUMDes in strengthening sustainable, community-driven tourism management models.
