Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study was to improve teachers' competence and the implementation of Office 365 in learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this study was Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants of the study were 90 teachers from all levels of education in Indonesia, who were trained by three lecturers from FKIP Mulawarman University and one teacher from SMP IT Madina. The results showed an increase in the participants' competence in using Office 365 to support learning in schools during the pandemic. Office 365 was found to be a viable alternative to support the teaching and learning process in schools. The implication of this study is that Office 365 can be used as a tool to facilitate the learning process during the pandemic, and training programs can be developed to improve teachers' competence in using this technology. Highlights Office 365 can be used as an alternative tool for supporting the learning process during the pandemic. The training program improved teachers' competence in utilizing Office 365 for learning purposes. The study involved 90 teachers from all levels of education in Indonesia. The training program was carried out through Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation methods.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the prohibition of "nikah malem songo geblake mbah" in the Jegulo Soko Tuban community, which is an adat (customary) prohibition outside of Islamic law. Using a normative-fiqhiyyah and sociological approach, the study found that the prohibition of "nikah malem songo geblake mbah" is based on sadd al-dhari'ah, as it is believed to potentially cause harm and disrespect to elders, and goes against community norms. The research also identified various factors contributing to the prohibition. In terms of Islamic law, the study concludes that "nikah malem songo geblake mbah" is prohibited, as it goes against the principles of kemaslahatan (public interest) and may cause harm. Therefore, it is recommended that the community continues to uphold the prohibition to maintain social harmony and respect for cultural norms.Highlights: The prohibition of 'nikah malem songo geblake mbah' is an adat rule outside of Islamic law. The prohibition is based on the principles of sadd al-dhari'ah and may cause harm and disrespect to elders. Upholding the prohibition is necessary to maintain social harmony and respect for cultural norms.

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges and complexities in translating phraseological units between languages, focusing on the differences between Uzbek and European languages. The main objective is to establish equivalence relations between linguistic units, taking into account semantic, stylistic, and visual aspects. To achieve this, the research identifies the categorical features of phraseological units, explores their structural-semantic and functional-stylistic features, and examines the role of national-cultural characteristics in translation processes. The study proposes five principles for translating phrasebooks and analyzes the common and distinct features of German and Uzbek proverbs. The results highlight the importance of a thorough understanding of linguistic units and national-cultural aspects in order to create accurate and effective translations, bridging the gap between languages and cultures. Highlights: Establishing equivalence relationships is crucial for successful translation of phraseological units, given their figurative meanings and cultural ties. A deep understanding of linguistic nuances, historical and cultural context, and the unique characteristics of phrasebooks is essential for accurate translation. Further research into the structural, functional, and cultural aspects of phraseological units can enhance translation techniques, benefiting the global linguistic community.

Abstract

This article explores the concept of functional styles in language and suggests that a distinct functional style should be recognized for religious texts, as supported by many linguists worldwide and in Uzbekistan. The study aims to identify the characteristic aspects of this style and how it differs from other functional styles. The authors used a literature review approach to examine existing research on religious linguistics and functional styles. The findings indicate that religious texts possess unique linguistic features that differentiate them from other styles, and thus, it is necessary to study them as a separate functional style. The implications of this study are significant, as it emphasizes the importance of recognizing the religious style in linguistic research and provides a foundation for further exploration of this style in language. Highlights: The article suggests recognizing a distinct functional style for religious texts, which differs from existing styles. The study emphasizes the unique linguistic features of religious texts, which require separate examination. The need for recognizing the religious style in linguistic research is highlighted, based on existing ideas in world linguistics.

Abstract

In traditional early childhood education, teachers often rely on paper-based materials for teaching letters and numbers recognition, which can quickly bore young children. This study aimed to explore the use of Microsoft PowerPoint as an interactive learning media for early childhood education. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved a community engagement program in Harapan Bangsa PAUD, East Java, Indonesia, to introduce the use of Microsoft PowerPoint to teachers. Interviews, observations, and event documentation provided data for descriptive analysis. The program improved teachers' ability to experiment with new and interactive educational material, according to the findings. Community involvement programs improve early childhood education and promote the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, according to participants and the PAUD Harapan Bangsa. Abstract

The legal system which is based on and inspired by the philosophical values of Pancasila, aims to improve the legal system in Indonesia. That is able to protect its citizens from all actions or behaviors that are contrary to humanity and justice. Therefore, Indonesian law contains elements of protecting implementing order, justice, and especially non-discrimination, especially from gender. The law creates a dignified society, which humanizes humans, upholds human values. The norms that live in society, become a basis for the formation of a rule. But the customs and habits that exist in ethnic groups in Indonesia have their own character. Violence cannot be identified in a particular society, but all humans can have a hard character. However, the existence of a belis or dowry, seems to give legitimacy that women have been bought. Therefore, through this community service activity, it focuses focuses on efforts to increase awereness of the law in the hope of minimizing the habit of violent behavior in the nomad community from Ende in the Surabaya city. This effort to increase awereness of the law is carried out through legal assistance regarding domestic violence in the Ende nomad community in Surabaya City. The assistance of representatives of Ende residents in Surabaya related to Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning Domestic Violence needs to be carried out intensively and massively. There is a decrease in the level of domestic violence in the families of Ende nomads in Surabaya. Highlights: Legal System Based on Pancasila: The legal system in Indonesia is inspired by the philosophical values of Pancasila, aiming to protect citizens and uphold humanity, justice, and non-discrimination, especially concerning gender. Focus on Awareness and Minimizing Violence: Community service activity focuses on increasing awareness of the law to minimize violent behavior within the nomad community from Ende in Surabaya. Intensive Legal Assistance: Representatives of the Ende residents in Surabaya provide intensive and massive legal assistance related to Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning Domestic Violence, resulting in a decrease in domestic violence in the Ende nomad families. Abstract

This study aimed to enhance the understanding of stock investment principles, specifically technical and fundamental analysis, among beginners in the capital market. Using a web seminar format, the research incorporated socialization methods, engaging investment managers as speakers and a diverse audience of students and lecturers from Probolinggo. An interactive question-answer session was employed to gauge the participants' comprehension. The learning outcomes were evaluated via pre- and post-tests, revealing significant improvements in participants' understanding of technical and fundamental analysis for stock investment. The study underscores the effectiveness of web seminars in fostering informed decision-making in the capital market, thereby minimizing the selection of risky stocks. Consequently, this approach could serve as a valuable tool in global financial education and investment literacy efforts.Highlights: The web seminar effectively fostered investment literacy, highlighting the importance of digital platforms in financial education. Participants showed significant improvement in understanding technical and fundamental analysis, underscoring the seminar's impact on investment decision-making skills. The study's results imply a minimized selection of risky stocks, hinting at the potential of such educational efforts in enhancing global financial stability.
