Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Customer Experience on Revisit Intention at The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique, namely guests who had stayed at The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis with the Respondents' Achievement Level (TCR), classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression analysis with SPSS version 27. The descriptive analysis showed that the Customer Experience variable achieved a TCR score of 79.23%, while the Revisit Intention variable achieved 79.35%, both of which were categorized as good. The results of the simple linear regression analysis indicated that Customer Experience had a positive and significant effect on Revisit Intention, with a regression coefficient of 0.778 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.886 indicates that 88.6% of the variance in Revisit Intention can be explained by Customer Experience, while the remaining 11.4% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings indicate that better Customer Experience leads to higher Revisit Intention among guests at The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of organisational culture and communication on employee performance at Four Points by Sheraton Batam. A quantitative methodology was adopted, utilising a causal-associative research design. Primary data were collected through a “Likert-scale questionnaire administered to a sample of 50 employees, selected via a saturation sampling technique. Subsequent data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 27, encompassing validity and reliability assessments, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the evaluation of the coefficient of determination. The empirical findings reveal that organisational culture and communication exert a positive and statistically significant influence on employee performance, both independently and simultaneously. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination demonstrates that these two independent variables explain 72,6% of the variance in employee performance, while the remaining 27,4% is attributable to exogenous factors beyond the scope of this investigation”. The results show that improving organisational culture and implementing effective communication can boost staff productivity. It is hoped that this research will assist hotel management in developing more efficient human resource management strategies to enhance organisational productivity and service quality.

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the extent to which leadership (X) influences employees' work discipline (Y) at Daima Hotel Padang. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach based on a causal associative research design. Data were collected through a survey using a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale. Considering the size of the population, a census (total sampling) technique was applied, involving all 53 employees as respondents. The descriptive analysis indicated that the leadership variable (X) was categorized as good, with a mean score of 4.13. Meanwhile, the work discipline variable (Y) obtained a mean score of 4.20, reflecting a good to very good category. Prior to hypothesis testing, classical assumption tests, including normality and linearity tests, were conducted to ensure the appropriateness of the data for regression analysis. The data were subsequently analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The hypothesis testing results revealed that leadership has a positive and statistically significant effect on employees' work discipline. This finding is supported by the regression equation Y = 33.556 + 0.409X, a calculated t-value of 4.270, which exceeds the t-table value of 2.006, and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.263) indicates that leadership accounts for 26.3% of the variance in employees' work discipline, while the remaining 73.7% is explained by other variables beyond the scope of this study. In conclusion, the findings demonstrate that stronger leadership exhibited by the Head of Department (HOD) is associated with higher levels of employee work discipline at Daima Hotel Padang.

Abstract

Amid intensifying hospitality competition in Padang City, this study set out to determine how strongly customer perceived value drives guest loyalty at Grand Basko Hotel Padang. A causal associative design under a quantitative descriptive framework was chosen, drawing on 100 guests selected as respondents through purposive sampling. A previously validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire served as the data-collection tool, with the resulting data processed via descriptive analysis and simple linear regression in SPSS version 27. The analysis places both customer perceived value and guest loyalty within the very good category, at average scores of 4.26 and 4.29 respectively. Hypothesis testing further establishes that customer perceived value carries a positive, significant effect on guest loyalty (t = 17.982; sig. = 0.000 < 0.05), explaining 76.7% of the variance (R Square = 0.767), with the remaining 23.3% attributable to factors outside this study's scope. In short, stronger perceived value among guests translates into stronger loyalty. Grand Basko Hotel Padang's management is accordingly encouraged to keep reinforcing customer perceived value, particularly through service quality and the guest experience, so that guest loyalty is sustained over time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the consideration of price and vendor service quality in purchasing decisions at Harris Resort Barelang Batam. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four informants, namely the Purchasing Manager, Receiving Staff, Food and Beverage Product Supervisor, and Cost Control Staff, supported by observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was assessed through source triangulation. The findings indicate that price serves as an initial consideration in vendor selection, particularly in terms of affordability and conformity with the hotel's budget. However, purchasing decisions are not determined solely by price, but also by product quality and vendor service quality. Reliability in ensuring timely delivery and vendor responsiveness are the most influential factors in supporting smooth hotel operations, while assurance and empathy contribute to the development of long-term cooperative relationships. Purchasing decisions are also based on the suitability of goods for operational needs, product benefits, the appropriateness of vendor selection, and previous satisfaction experiences. Therefore, purchasing decisions at Harris Resort Barelang Batam result from an integrated consideration of price, vendor service quality, and operational needs, thereby supporting the effectiveness of the hotel's procurement process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the growing use of digital systems in the hospitality sector, a shift that compels employees to adjust to technology-driven work routines. While the relationship between digitalization and employee performance has been examined in numerous prior studies, findings remain mixed, and most of that work concentrates on banking and telecommunications, leaving hospitality comparatively underexplored. Accordingly, this study seeks to measure how far the adoption of a digital system shapes employee performance at Hotel Daima Padang. A quantitative, descriptive-associative-causal design was applied. Because all 35 employees who operate the Property Management System (PMS) directly in their daily duties were treated as both population and sample, saturation sampling was used. Primary data were gathered through an online Likert-scale questionnaire and processed with simple linear regression. Results show that both employee performance and system digitalization fall into the good category, with mean scores of 3.51 and 3.46 respectively. The t-test demonstrated a statistically significant, positive influence of digitalization on performance (calculated t = 19.083 > critical t = 2.035; p < 0.001), while a coefficient of determination of 91.7% indicates that nearly all variation in employee performance is accounted for by the digital system, with the remaining 8.3% attributable to factors beyond this study's scope. These findings are expected to enrich the human resource management literature within the hospitality sector, particularly concerning technology use in hotel operations.

Abstract

The use of social media as a promotional tool in the hospitality industry is expected to create functional value, emotional value, and social value that influence guests’ purchasing decisions. Fluctuations in occupancy rates and cancellations at the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi indicate that guests’ purchasing decisions are not yet stable. This study aims to analyze the influence of functional value, emotional value, and social value on guests’ purchasing decisions at the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi. This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal-associative research design. The research sample consisted of 180 respondents selected using the [specify sampling technique] method. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the levels of functional value, emotional value, social value, and purchasing decisions, while multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the influence of the three independent variables on purchasing decisions. The results show that Functional Value (X1) achieved a TCR value of 81.4% in the “good” category, Emotional Value (X2) achieved 82.5% in the “good” category, Social Value (X3) achieved 81.2% in the “good” category, and Purchase Decision (Y) achieved 84.7% in the “very good” category. Partially, functional value has a positive and significant effect on purchase decision (β = 0.344; p = 0.003), emotional value has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.302; p = 0.004), and social value has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.449; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, all three variables had a significant effect on purchasing decisions (p < 0.001). The adjusted R-squared value of 0.683 indicates that functional value, emotional value, and social value account for 68.3% of the variation in purchasing decisions, while the remainder is influenced by other variables outside the research model. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for the management of the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi in developing more effective digital promotion strategies to increase guests’ purchasing decisions.
