Abstract

ABSTRACT The study aims to identify and analyze the factors that motivated Treasure Maker to become a fan of the South Korean boyband Treasure, which, under the umbrella of YG Entertainment, has gained global popularity since its debut in 2020. These boy bands are known for their dedication to their careers, despite facing a variety of challenges, including changing members. Treasure fans, known as the Treasure Maker, showed strong loyalty and regarded the boyband as a source of inspiration. The study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview methods and content analysis to collect data from Treasure Maker members in Indonesia. The results show that the key factors that motivate Treasure Makers are the dedication and hard work of Treasure members, the quality of their music and appearance, as well as the positive interaction between boy bands and fans. Moreover, treasure makers feel motivated by the positive messages delivered through treasure songs, which encourage them to pursue their dreams and face life's challenges. The research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the motivation of K-Pop fans and their contribution to Indonesian fan culture. Keywords: Motivation, Treasure Maker, boyband Treasure, K-pop Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memotivasi Treasure Maker dalam menggemari boyband Treasure. Treasure, boyband asal Korea Selatan di bawah naungan YG Entertainment, telah meraih popularitas global sejak debutnya pada tahun 2020. Boyband ini dikenal karena dedikasi mereka dalam berkarya, meskipun menghadapi berbagai tantangan termasuk perubahan anggota. Penggemar Treasure, yang dikenal sebagai Treasure Maker, menunjukkan loyalitas yang kuat dan menganggap boyband ini sebagai sumber inspirasi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan analisis konten untuk mengumpulkan data dari anggota Treasure Maker di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor utama yang memotivasi Treasure Maker adalah dedikasi dan kerja keras anggota Treasure, kualitas musik dan penampilan mereka, serta interaksi positif antara boyband dan penggemar. Selain itu, Treasure Maker merasa termotivasi oleh pesan-pesan positif yang disampaikan melalui lagu-lagu Treasure, yang mendorong mereka untuk mencapai impian dan menghadapi tantangan hidup.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dalam beberapa dekade terakhir telah mengubah cara individu berinteraksi, memungkinkan terbentuknya komunitas online tanpa batas geografis, termasuk dalam industri game. Di Indonesia, industri game mobile mengalami pertumbuhan pesat, didukung oleh akses internet yang luas, dengan 79,5% populasi terhubung secara online pada tahun 2024. Aplikasi komunikasi seperti Discord telah menjadi platform utama komunitas gaming untuk berinteraksi, berkat fitur pesan, suara, dan video yang efektif. Discord memungkinkan pemain dari berbagai latar belakang untuk terhubung, membangun solidaritas, dan mengembangkan identitas komunitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode netnografi untuk menganalisis pola komunikasi dalam komunitas gaming di Discord. Pendekatan ini bertujuan memahami bagaimana interaksi virtual membentuk budaya, identitas, dan pola komunikasi unik yang memperkuat solidaritas antaranggota. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif dan dokumentasi, dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi dan penyajian data. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa komunikasi di komunitas gaming Discord tidak hanya mencakup diskusi terkait game, tetapi juga interaksi sosial yang mendukung ikatan kuat di antara anggotanya.

Abstract

Fairclough mengemukakan bahwa analisis teks merupakan analisis terhadap teks yang terdapat dalam wacana, Fairclough juga menyatakan fakta penting melalui bahasa bagaimana bahasa digunakan sebagai alat kekuasaan dalam masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana perbedaan berita yang ditampilkan di media terkait dengan Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) secara massal yang dilakukan oleh Deloitte. terdapat tiga dimensi untuk menganalisis wacana dengan perspektif Norman Fairclough yaitu Mikrostruktural, Mesostruktural, dan Makrostruktural. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan metodologis yaitu deksriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan teoritis analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, pada ketiga media pemberitaan mempunyai kemiripan kosakata yang dipilih dalam konteks judul mengenai pemberitaan dalam kondisi yang terjadi saat ini.

Abstract

This article presents the results of research on bullying acts in the Korean drama series The Glory Season 1 (2022). The drama depicts acts of revenge by victims of bullying during their teenage years. This research is qualitative and utilizes Roland Barthes’s semiotics method for analysis. The study results demonstrate that the acts of bullying perpetrated by individuals can be categorized into several types. Bullies will continue to harass victims until they are satisfied. Through this research it was also found that films can be an examples for the audience to take certain actions.

Abstract

Wulandari Wahyuning Tiyas. 201910415191. Pola Komunikasi Orang Tua dan Anak di dalam Keluarga Broken Home yang mengalamai Disfungsi Keluarga. Pada penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana pola komunikasi yang dijalankan oleh keluarga IN yang mengalami disfungsi keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pola komunikasi antar personal orang tua dan anak di dalam keluarga broken home dan menjelaskan bagaimana anak yang berada pada disfungsi keluarga dapat mematahkan stereotip masyarakat awam yang memandang bahwa anak broken home akan menjadi anak yang berantakan. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah pola komunikasi keluarga yang dijalankan oleh keluarga IN melewati berbagai fase pola komunikasi keluarga, ada masa pola komunikasi keluarga yang dijalankan melewati fase pola komunikasi tak seimbang terpisah dan pola komunikasi monopoli, sehingga fase pola komunikasi memasuki fase pola komunikasi seimbang terpisah yang mana pola komunikasi ini dapat memperbaiki hubungan antar orang tua dan antar anak sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi didalamnya. Komitmen yang dilakukan oleh orang tua membuahkan hasil berupa fase pola komunikasi keluarga sudah pada pola komunikasi persamaan yang mana pada pola komunikasi ini membuat komunikasi di dalam keluarga berangsur-angsur membaik. Hubungan yang terjalin baik antara orang tua dan anak akan mempengaruhi karakter dan konsep diri pada anak. Di buktikan oleh IN, ia berhasil mematahkan stereotip terkait anak yang berasal dari keluarga yang hancur akan menjadi anak yang berantakan. IN menjadi berbeda karena IN berhasil mencapai tujuan hidupnya.

Abstract

The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had become a hot topic of conversation in society. The incident highlighted the fact that Amber Heard, who is a woman, had committed an act of violence against Johnny Depp, who is a man. Male victims are often underestimated by society because of gender stereotypes that men are stronger than women. Moreover, the media still perpetuates this stigma with publishing articles that tend to diminish male victims. This study aims to analyze how the media influences people's perspectives regarding the trial and whether there is gender bias among netizens, especially on social media like Twitter, in providing their opinions. This research uses the mixed method, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative analysis techniques in this study used Social Network Analysis (SNA) and Digital Opinion Movement (DMO) using Netlytic, while qualitative analysis techniques used literature reviews, in which data were sourced from news articles and journals. The results show that the perspectives of some Twitter users are affected by the media, which tends to be biased. However, most of the others, especially Johnny Depp's supporters, were not affected by this news because of their loyalty and fanaticism towards him. Abstract

Indonesia ranks fifth as the country with the highest HIV/AIDS-related death rates in the world, with 27,000 deaths in 2023. The cumulative number of people living with HIV/AIDS from 2005 to 2023 is 566,707. In 2023 alone, the number of people with HIV/AIDS reached 57,299, the highest figure since 2009. This situation is certainly concerning. Therefore, preventive efforts, treatment, and care are needed to ensure that people living with HIV (PLHIV) remain healthy. More broadly, it is hoped that the death rate due to HIV/AIDS does not rise and that the transmission does not spread further. Various preventive, treatment, and care efforts are being carried out by different parties, including NGOs and healthcare facilities (Faskes). In Indonesia, NGOs focusing on these efforts include Jaringan Indonesia Positif (JIP), and healthcare facilities that are quite focused on PLHIV include the Unit Ruang Carlo at St. Carolus Hospital in Jakarta. However, the care or counseling provided varies. In the Ruang Carlo, there is the involvement of doctors, nurses, and counselors, such as the Suster-suster Cinta Kasih St. Carolus Borromeus, while at JIP, there is only the involvement of counselors who are experts in their field, having undergone specialized counseling training and education. The treatment provided at the Ruang Carlo is referred to as holistic care or counseling, while JIP implements palliative care or counseling. The similarity between the two types of care or counseling is the role of the counselor, who performs therapeutic communication with people living with HIV (PLHIV). Therefore, this research focuses on the counselor's experience in conducting therapeutic communication, which includes the motivations behind the counseling activities, the communication experiences themselves, and the types of messages exchanged, both verbal and non-verbal.
