Abstract

This research examines ethics towards God, humans and the environment from the perspective of Islamic ethics, using an Islamic philosophy approach. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The descriptive analysis method is used with the aim of explaining the nature of ethics as humans towards God and others. humans, and the environment, as well as explaining the relevance of these three elements which are inseparable from each other using the perfective Islamic Philosophy of Ethics. This type of research is library research, namely collecting several pieces of literature such as books, e-books, journals, research that discusses the theme being discussed. The results of this research reveal that ethics towards God is rooted in recognition and submission as a form of moral obligation as a servant through worshiping Him and giving thanks for all His gifts. Second, ethics towards humans is understood as a form of awareness of their nature as social creatures by maintaining and achieving a balance between personal rights and social obligations, then ethics towards the environment is understood as a form of moral awareness that humans and society are part of the universe itself so that protecting it is a form of safeguarding interests. Humans themselves, like the ecosystem of the universe, need each other, the interconnection of these three aspects involves the fulfillment of responsibility for their duties as social creatures and caliphs on earth. This moral awareness arises because of the human ability to differentiate between good and bad, halal and haram, a conscious human being is one who truly understands that he is responsible for his actions. Relations between humans and the environment are represented by protecting and managing nature well, maintaining relationships with the environment and humans as a form of ethics towards God, because in kalam science, the universe and humans are manifestations of God himself and humans' relationship to God can be assessed. from relationships with each other and the surrounding environment, acting and behaving as if receiving guidance from God.

Abstract

In history there has been an important debate between Western philosophy and Islamic philosophies. This debate concerns the source of human knowledge, whether the role of reason, sensory perception, or intuition is emphasized in the process of attaining true knowledge. This research involves the views of Al-Ghazali, Rene Descartes, and John Locke, this research uses the method of literature study. In the context of this debate, the Western view of epistemology represented by Rene Descartes saw the human mind as a source of knowledge and formulated a method known as the method of the question method, while John Locke, on the other hand, highlighted the role of human senses as a resource for knowledge and elaborated the theory of tables of senses. In the midst of this Western view, Al-Ghazali presents an Islamic perspective by emphasizing the role of intuition or heart in achieving the highest knowledge. In this article, we will look at the thinking and comparison of the perspective of three figures namely Al-Ghazali, Rene Descartes, and John Locke. Each of them has a different view of the true source of knowledge.

Abstract

This research discusses the development of Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) in the context of the philosophy of defense science, with a focus on axiological aspects. The background of the study highlights social and ethical changes resulting from the advancement of science, while the lack of script understanding also affects the meaning that can be achieved through language. Philosophy, as an initiator of critical thinking, plays a crucial role in liberating humans from the limitations of knowledge. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the researcher as the main instrument. The focus is on DEW, a weapon that uses concentrated electromagnetic energy, creating debates on ethics and law. The laws of war and international agreements are considered incapable of accommodating the technological advancements of DEW, raising concerns about violations of legal agreements and international humanitarian law. The research results indicate that the axiological perspective in the philosophy of defense science is needed to guide the development of DEW technology. Evaluation is done through teleological and deontological approaches, emphasizing moral goals and obligations. The ethical and moral implications of DEW development are examined by considering their impact on humanity, human rights, and environmental sustainability. This approach reinforces the urgency of forming an Ethical Code for the development and use of DEW, emphasizing clear definitions, involvement of independent experts, restrictions on sales and technology transfer, and military ethics training. Additionally, the research suggests international dialogue to build consensus and address common issues related to the development of this technology. By integrating axiological aspects of the philosophy of defense science, this research provides a holistic view of DEW development, considering moral and ethical values as guidelines in its utilization.

Abstract

Debates are still going on in rural areas regarding the presence of knowledge of the 3 intelligences Intellectual Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotion (EQ), and Spiritual Quotion (SQ), because they are considered to have no concrete evidence, because the benchmark for these three intelligences is basically taste. subjective. Qualitative research using library methods. Writing this article applies a literature review to critically review knowledge, ideas or findings contained in literature related to research problems and objectives. Focuses on explaining the nature and existence of the measurement parameters of human intelligence IQ, EQ, and SQ. The analysis technique in this research uses a literature review which is dissected through 4 indicators of philosophy of science, namely: methods, concepts, pre-suppositions and position of science. The research results prove (1) the essence of IQ is figurative ability, verbal ability and numerical ability which are controlled by the work of the left brain; (2) the essence of EQ is self-awareness, self-management, motivation, empathy, and social skills; (3) the essence of SQ is responsibility, humanity and happiness. The three human intelligences IQ, EQ, and SQ are included in the scientific branch of cognitive psychology which discusses human intelligence. SQ is still in theory and cannot be generalized, although research has attempted to formulate SQ measurement indicators, this happens because there is still debate about the god spot as a sign of the existence of SQ in the human brain.

Abstract

This study aims to delve into and explore the meaning of the epiphany of the other's face in the context of sexual violence against women, utilizing Emmanuel Levinas' philosophy as the primary theoretical foundation. The research will investigate how Levinas' concept of the epiphany of the face can offer new insights and provide a profound understanding of the phenomenon of sexual violence against women. Employing a Literature Review method with a qualitative approach, this study aims to examine Levinas' concept of the face and apply it to the reality of sexual violence against women. Levinas underscores the importance of ethics as the basis for human relationships, particularly through the concept of the face as the gateway to understanding the uniqueness and dignity of each individual. Building on this issue, the author finds that the epiphany of the other's face can provide deeper insights into the uniqueness of women who are victims of sexual violence, emphasizing the ethical responsibility to actively engage in protecting and defending victims of sexual violence. Furthermore, the significance of subjective involvement and responsibility highlights the need for personal engagement in humanitarian relationships. The phenomenon of sexual violence against women paints a troubling picture of the existence of a woman's face. The presence of the other's face (women) that should be considered as the encounter between the "Self" and the "Other" has been reduced to an object of violent actions.
