<![CDATA[Semantic is the branches of linguistics. This researh is about linguistics which analyse about lexical meaning and contextual meaning. By reading of the news article, we can get knowledge about appreciates literature and the background of the language. Therefore, the researcher interested in analyzing the lexical and contextual meaning used in sport article. The researcher dedicated to give the title of this research “An Analysis of Lexical and Contextual meaning on Sport News in Jawa Pos Newspaper”. The problem of this study are: (1) How is lexical meaning used on sport news in Jawa Pos newspaper? (2) How is contextual meaning on sport news in Jawa Pos newspaper? The researcher takes some newspaper edition in of February 2018. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method because the researcher would analysze and interpret the object research of sport article. The step to obtain the data is by collecting sources of the data from sport article in Jawa Pos newspaper. After that selects the sport article and understand the content of the article, the researcher conducts and analyzes the data the last is make conclusion. The result of this research is as follows: (1) every word of lexical meaning used in sports articles aims to attract news readers or newspapers, while (2) every word of lexical meaning can be analyzed using contextual meaning so that the reader can understand the content of the news. The researcher expects this research will be useful for the other researchers who are eager to know more about semantics. Moreover, semantic is an important branch of linguistics that is interesting to be studied, especially when it is applied to literary works, such us news, novel or poem etc.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of interactive multimedia to students’ reading comprehension at Literal Reading class. All participants were conveniently selected from the first year students of English Language Education Department at Nusantara PGRI Kediri University. Thirthy participants were assigned as a sample. Quantitative method and experimental approach with One-Group Pretest-Post design were applied in this present study. Data collection through pre-test and post- test. Pre-test was administered before treatment, while post-test was administered after treatment. After gaining the data, t- test was analyzed using SPSS 23. The analyzes resulted in the finding that there was a significant difference score in pre- test and post-test. The mean score of post-test was better than pre-test. Thus, it can be said that interactive multimedia can impact the students’ reading comprehension of the first year of English Language Education Department at Nusantara PGRI Kediri University.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was aimed at find out whether or not using Two Stay Two Stray effective in toward students’ Self-Esteem in speaking. The research was quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population of the study was second grade students of SMPN 3 Batukliang which was consisted of two classes. Two classes were chosen as the samples by using population sampling technique; those were VIII A as experimental class was treated by using Two Stay Two Stray, and VIII C as control class was treated by using One Stray Three Stay, they were chosen by used lottre. The instrument to collect the research data. The scores were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis, descriptive analysis used to describe mean, mode, median and standard deviation both of group, and the inferential analysis is to describe the value of t-test for the comparison between t-table. It shows that the value of t-test = 2,53 was higher than the value of t-table = 1,688 as the level of significance of 0,05% and the number of df (36). Therefore, based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that there is significant difference between students’ Self-Esteem scores taught by Two Stay Two Stray. In other words, Two Stay Two Stray has positive effect toward students’ in Self-Esteem.]]>

<![CDATA[Introducing creative thinking through the movie will be a great way because movies such as Aladdin can be enjoyed by everyone from a wide range of ages. Making the concept of creative thinking will be familiar not only for adults, but also the important thing for children who have been growing up in the process of their lives. By analyzing this movie, the writer aimed to figure out the kinds of creative thinking and its impact on the main characters in Aladin’s movie. The writer applied the Descriptive Qualitative method to obtain and represent the data. The process of collecting data by doing library research, reading some theories to support the analysis, watching the movie as the object of the research. After analysis, it found the kinds of creative thinking in the main characters of Aladdin are only three out of four categories; they are reframing, mind mapping, and insight. Besides, the impact of creative thinking reflected are increase confidence and arise diverse thinking which generating innovative ideas to solve the problem and give benefit to the individual and the community.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper is aimed at analyzing the types of Politeness strategies used by the host of Mata Natjwa when she makes an interview with the guest stars. This study is interesting to be done because it reveals whether the power relations between the host and the guests influence the use of the politeness strategies. The study is descriptive qualitative study in which all the data were analyzed described based on the theory proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987). There data were taken from the MN episodes whose topic is Cipta kerja: Mana Fakta Mana Dusta. After the data were collected, and reduced, they were classified based on the classification in Brown and Levinson (1987) theory. The analysis started by classifying the types of PS and then they were divided again into subdivision of types of Politeness strategies. In order to make the analysis more clearly, those data were displayed. The findings show that Natjwa used positive politeness with the type of seeking agreement, asserting of presuppose S’s knowledge of and concern for H’s want, avoiding agreement, using in group identity marker, and including both speaker and hearer to the activity. The types of negative politeness and bald on strategy are not as many as that found in positive politeness, namely; minimizing imposition on the other person, and questioning and hedging., meanwhile the last type of PS is tasking oriented which belong to bald on record strategies.]]>

<![CDATA[The study aims at figuring out the correlation between students’ watching English Animation Movie habit with the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in Academic Year 2020/2021. In the present study, the researcher specified the type of movie into animation movie which individual’s drawings, paintings, or illustrations are photographed frame by frame (stop-frame cinematography). The undertaking of the research was mainly based on the preliminary study. The subjects were the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in academic year 2020/2021. There were 60 subjects which came from 12 classes. The design was ex-post facto correlational research design. The research was carried out by distributing a questionnaire about students’ habit in watching English animation movies and a vocabulary test through google form. The result showed that there was significant correlation between students’ watching English Animation Movie habit with the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in Academic Year 2020/2021 with the correlation value was 0.719 that belonged to high correlation scale (0.600-0.800). In short, the study showed higher score that the students got in the questionnaire the higher score of vocabulary test that achieved. ]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a student response and the effect of the application of online learning in improving English learning outcomes on Recount text material in class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Boyolangu. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted online via Zoom and Google Classroom. The subjects in the study were students of class X MIPA 4 at SMA Negeri 1 Boyolangu in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, and the object of this study was to understand the recount text material and student responses to online learning. This study uses two cycles to improve the ability to analyze recount text through four stages of the activity process which includes: planning, action, observation, evaluation and reflection. Data collection techniques in this study are using test and observation methods. The results showed (1) the application of online learning can improve students' understanding of recount text material. (2) there is a student response to the application of online learning to improve students' understanding of recount text material.]]>

<![CDATA[Language have several ways to study, especially English. There is a special way to study English, for example Group Work learner. Like the other activities, group work for learner in language is more likely to go well if it is properly planned. Group work as a media to learn language so group work must plan with properly guided. Planning requires an understanding of the principle that lies behind successful group work. After planned the group work for learner, we can apply the principle to a good preparation. There are the typical question for the teacher “How many people should there be in a group?”, “Is the best to have people/students of mixed ability/proficiency or equal ability/proficiency?” etc. the best answered is applying the principles. There are the 5 types of principles of group work: the combining arrangement, the cooperative arrangement, the superior-inferior arrangement, and the individual arrangement. If the principle is not applied, then the group work for learner will probably not go smoothly. Each the principle have advantage and disadvantage. So the goal of group work for learner help learning in the following ways: negotiation of input, new language item, fluency, communication strategies, and content.]]>

The application of English learning at Senior High School has been applied in schools from the era after Independence Day. There are also problems caused by the new policy, the application of English learning in the classroom. <![CDATA[The rise of online learning during the pandemic era has changed the educational field. Through e-learning, learning is no longer limited by space and time. In response to significant demand, many free online learning platforms emerge in supporting teaching and learning in the virtual classroom. Realizing this phenomenon and based on the needs of the students, the researchers conducted a study aimed at enhancing students’ access to learning medical vocabulary materials through a web-based application, namely Wix-Site. The research design was RD, with five steps or stages namely need analysis, studying recent theories, developing the product, validating the product to experts, and field testing the product. The subject in this study was medical records students in the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The data collection method was implemented by distributing questionnaires to the students and then analyzed quantitatively. The finding of this research indicated that the implementation of the Wix-site as a means to facilitate students’ access to learning English medical vocabulary was considered effective]]>
