Abstract

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is still the third largest contributor to Malaria cases in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 12%, Papua (18.4%) and West Papua (26.1%). Directly border with The Democratic Republic of Timor Leste (RDTL) with Mota'ain as the main crossing point, increases the risk of infectious diseases transmission. Mota’ain is located in coastal areas, swamps, river basins, former fish ponds, and rice fields potentially to be Anopheles sp. habitats. The purpose of this research is to examine the characteristics and spatial distribution of potential breeding habitats for Anopheles sp. in Mota'ain. This is a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The Anopheles sp mosquito bionomic area, which included swamps, rice fields, estuaries around the perimeter, and the buffer area of the Mota'ain border, served as the research sample. The spatial regression test was used to analyze the data, and the results revealed three points of Anopheles sp larvae habitats, namely fish ponds, swamps, and river basin. In the buffer area, 24 (80%) of the larvae habitats were found within a 200-meter radius, and 24 (80%) of the larvae habitats were found within a 400-meter radius 6 (20%). There was no habitat found around the perimeter. With a habitat index of 50%, the density of Anopheles sp larvae per catch ranged from 0.04 to 12.03. Anopheles sp larvae discovered included Anopheles Barbirostris, Anopheles Subpictus, and Anopheles Vagus. Swamps have the most habitat (3,004.7 m2), while river basins have the least (3,004.7 m2) (2.93 m2). The Spatial Regression Test revealed that habitat area (p = 0.014), water pH (p = 0.015), and salinity (p = 0.00012) were significant. This means that habitat area, water pH, and salinity all have an effect on Anopheles sp. density, whereas temperature has no effect (p = 0.778). Cleaning aquatic plants and employing larval predators to prevent larval breeding.

Abstract

The increase in free radicals can cause oxidative damage from the cellular, tissue, and organ levels. Therefore, antioxidant compounds are needed to stabilize free radicals. One of the plants that has antioxidant activity is bajakah. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites and bajakah activity as an antioxidant agent from various literature studies. The method used is Literature Review Article. The data are articles, national and international, published in 2012-2022 that match the keywords and are searched using the Google Scholar, Research Gate, and PubMed databases. After the screening process, 5 literatures were obtained which were further reviewed. Based on the results of a review of the literature, bajakah showed antioxidant activity which was classified as strong and very strong because it had an IC50 value below 100 ppm. This antioxidant activity is due to the content of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, phenolics, saponins, tannins owned by bajakah.

Abstract

Pneumonia is an infection of lower respiratory tract caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi and a major cause of problem health in both developing and developed countries. Antibiotics are the first line therapy pneumonia caused by bacteria. Rational antibiotic therapy in the treatment of pneumonia is an important reason the need for pharmacoeconomic analysis. This study aimed to describe the cost of picture pneumonia treatment, the proportion of cost components, drug/drug combination that has the optimal effectiveness and the lowest cost. This research was descriptive non  experimental research with retrospective data collection with method cost consequences analysis.  Data taken were patient data with primary diagnoses of hospitalized pneumonia and according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed 57 patients met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Pneumonia patients are predominantly 0-18 years old (85.96%) and male sex with average treatment duration of 3 days. Proportion of drug costs (33.00%) with antibiotics (14.00%) and supportive/non antibiotic drugs (19.00%). The cost of treatment is the highest cost component of all cost components in the treatment of pneumonia. Cost of treatment of pneumonia disease without co-morbidities disease between Rp. 185.808 1.248.018. Cost of treatment of pneumonia with co-morbidities disease between Rp. 249.700-501.939. The most optimal antibiotic drug used in patients without co-morbidities disease is a combination of gentamicin-amoxicillin-ceftriaxone. The most optimal antibiotic drug is used in patients with co-morbidities that are combination of cefotaxim-ceftriaxon. The cost of treatment is the highest cost component of all cost components in the treatment of pneumonia and the most optimally used antibiotic is the combination of gentamicin-amoxicillin-ceftriaxon (patient without comorbidities) and a combination of cefotaxim-ceftriaxon (patients with comorbidities).

In this study, data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, namely statistical calculations to describe and synthesize data. By using this statistical procedure evaluate, conclude, organize, interpret and present clear information with meaningful figures. In this study, the researcher used a descriptive research method, namely describing urgent events that occur in the present. Stroke is also known as cerebrovascular disease. This disease shows the presence of several brain abnormalities both functionally and structurally caused by pathological conditions of the cerebral blood vessels or of the entire cerebral vascular system.
