Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cervical cancer is caused by infection with the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) virus that does not heal for a long time. If the immune system is reduced, then this infection can be malignant (pathogenic) and cause cervical cancer. Prior to 1930, cervical cancer was still the main cause of death for women and cases dropped drastically since the introduction of the Pap smear screening technique by Papanicolauo in 1934, there had been a lot of progress so that in the United States and Western Europe, the incidence of cervical cancer had decreased. "To determine the effect of competence, knowledge and attitudes of midwives on the implementation of cervical cancer prevention programs at Tangerang General Hospital". Is a quantitative research, with a non-experimental research design. This study used analytic regressive method with a cross sectional survey research design to determine the effect of the competence, knowledge and attitudes of midwives working with cervical cancer prevention programs at Tangerang General Hospital. The results of the analysis of the hypothesis test showed that there was a partial influence of knowledge and attitude competence on cervical cancer prevention programs, where the significant value was P = 0.000, which was smaller than P = 0.005. Meanwhile, attitude does not have a significant effect on cervical cancer prevention programs where the P value = 0.354.

Abstract

The MCH Handbook is a Maternal and Child Health Book. Usually, most people call it the “pink book”, according to the color. The book contains maternal health records. Starting from notes containing information on pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Citing the official website of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the maternal and child health book or MCH handbook is a guide to information and health records during pregnancy, childbirth and children aged 6 years. The contents of the book are very important to monitor health and record anyabnormalities in the mother and child. The recording of the MCH book is related to the health status of the mother and child, so it requires the participation of the mother to assess the completeness of the MCH book notes. It is necessary to increase the recording of the completeness of the MCH handbook by health workers because the results of the recording can be related to MCH knowledge. The benefits of the MCH Handbook are not only in the health sector, but have been integrated with other sectors, including a birth certificate to make it easier to get a certificate, a handbook for the Family Hope Program companion, as a medium for monitoring the growth and development of children in PAUD, Bina Keluarga Toddler.

Abstract

Known as the most common cause of vaginal discharge in women of reproductive age, Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is characterized by shfting of lactobacillus-dominated vagina microbiota to facultative or obligate anaerob bacteria. Inspite of first line treatment showing high efficacy toward BV, BV recurrences still frequently occur . This review would describe the result of current clinical trials regarding probiotic as alternative therapy to reduce the recurrence of BV. Literature search was conducted by using PubMed and Cochrane database with keyword probiotics, lactobacillus, recurrent, and bacterial vaginosis. It results on 9 clinical trials, which match to inclusion criteria and will be evaluated further. Diverse probiotic strains, dosage and duration of probiotics lead to varied outcomes in this review. In several studies, probiotic has potency in reducing the recurrence of BV compared to placebo. However, further large scale studies are still needed to determine the precised duration and dosage of probiotics given.

Abstract

Basil leaves (Ocimum Sanctum) can live well in the wild or cultivated. So far, basil leaves (Ocimum Sanctum) are only used as a complementary ingredient in cooking. In fact, basil leaves (Ocimum Sanctum) have great potential to be used in cosmetics. These basil leaves also have active compounds, namely essential oils, alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, steroids. Some of these tannins and phenols have anti-acne properties. In this study, we will discuss which preparations and at what concentration basil leaves are effective in inhibiting acne-causing bacteria (Staphylococcus Aureus). The research was conducted through a collection of journal data that has a purpose with the object of research and an explanation of several methods in the research is carried out. The results of the study concluded that the most effective preparation of basil extract in inhibiting acne-causing bacteria (Staphylococcus Aureus) was a cream preparation with an extract concentration of 45% with an inhibition zone of 25.05 mm.
