Abstract

Skin is the outermost part of the body and is in direct contact with the environment, sun exposure and climate change make our skin dull, wilted, and wrinkled. Intensive care is needed by the skin to prevent damage to the skin. Therefore, a Body Scrub serves to lift the skin of the body that is rough and dull. Scrub also functions to help accelerate the turnover of new body skin cells, which are healthier and cleaner. Skin that was rough and dull will look bright and not dull anymore. The skin will feel smooth, soft, not easily dry. In this review, we will discuss traditional waste-based Scrubs that are good for the skin. The data search was carried out by reviewing the literature which includes data review, collection of related research results that have been published using Google Scholar and Pubmed. Some plant wastes that can be used as Body Scrub preparations include onion skin (Allium Cepa L) containing chemical compounds that have the potential as antioxidants, namely flavonoids, coffee grounds and temulawak rhizomes (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza Roxb) containing chemical compounds that have the potential as antioxidants, namely flavonoids and polyphenols. Coconut fiber and charcoal (Cocos Nucifera) Contains chemical compounds that have the potential as antioxidants, namely tanis, lime peel (Citrus aurantiifolia) contains chemical compounds that have antibacterial potential, namely triterpenoids, and rice husks (Oriza Satyva) contain activated carbon that can function as antioxidants. The results obtained from the five wastes can be used as Body Scrub preparations.

Abstract

Pomegranate or often known as pomegranate (Punica granatum L) is a fruit belonging to the Punicaceae family which contains anthocyanins. Pomegranates generally have a red color produced by anthocyanin flavonoid compounds or natural color pigments which are usually safe to use as a substitute for synthetic dyes. In Indonesia, there are three types of pomegranate that grow in Indonesia, namely red, white and black pomegranates. The methanol extract in pomegranate plays a role in antioxidant activity while the color pigment in pomegranate can be used as a natural dye in the manufacture of various cosmetics. In this study, the identification of the benefits of pomegranate as a natural ingredient in the manufacture of cosmetics, samples using various journals and articles were reviewed and summarized into a single unit and summarized into a complete journal review.

Abstract

UV radiation can have an adverse effect on the skin. One of the ways to prevent these bad effects is to use sunscreen. The ethanol extract of jeruju leaves contains several secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids and phenolics so that it has the potential as a sunscreen agent. This study aims to determine the potential of Indonesian herbs and plants as anti SPF. The method used in this article is a literature review. The results of phytochemical screening, temugiring ethanol extract contains flavonoid, phenolic (tannin) compounds, and curcumin, all of which have the potential as antioxidants and are useful as active ingredients that have the potential as sunscreens. From the results obtained, the methanol and n-hexane fractions of kebiul leaves can be used as sunscreen ingredients, at concentrations of 600 ppm, 800 ppm and 1000 ppm are included in the suntan category (moderate to extra protection), which will slightly absorb UV- A, but most can absorb UV-B rays. The suntan category can still cause the skin to turn brown, but only temporarily. The SPF value of the ethanol extract of jeruju leaves can be seen in the table. Based on the table, the average SPF value of the ethanol extract of jeruju leaves increased with each increase in the concentration of the extract. The SPF value ranges from 0 to 100, and the ability of a sunscreen that is considered good is above the SPF 15 value. Based on the literature, it is stated that flavonoids are one of the natural compounds that have the potential as photoprotective agents because they have the ability to absorb UV rays and can be antioxidant compounds.

Abstract

Anthocyanins are phenolic compounds and provide the natural color found in fruit. Fruits contain a distinctive color because they contain anthocyanin compounds. Anthocyanins have a special property of changing color at a certain pH which can specifically absorb light from the ultraviolet (UV) to the violet absorption region, but is stronger in the visible spectrum. This study describes the content of several samples of fruits that contain anthocyanin compounds as natural indicators. The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of anthocyanin analysis of fruit using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. This research is a literature study (Library Research). Literature research was conducted by looking for previous articles containing research related to anthocyanins from several fruit samples using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method with various solvents used. The results showed that anthocyanins can be obtained by extraction. The anthocyanin extraction process is influenced by a number of factors such as the extraction method, the ratio of the size of the extraction tool, the condition of the material, the length of the extraction time, the type of acid, the concentration of acid/pH, the ratio of the material and the solvent, and the type of solvent. The more solvent used, the higher the extract yield. The higher the material:solvent ratio, the higher the yield due to the higher material:solvent ratio. The solvent has an effect on the total anthocyanin in the fruit studied in this literature review. Furthermore, this study showed that the best way to extract anthocyanin pigments from natural ingredients was by immersion, while the solvent that could optimally extract anthocyanin pigments was ethanol-HCl. The results of this review show that it is the most effective solvent that can be used to attract anthocyanins.

Abstract

Dry skin is defined to describe the loss or decrease in the moisture content of the Stratum Corneum (SC). Skin looks healthy when the outer layer contains 10% water. Research has been carried out on the effectiveness of natural ingredients moisturizing preparations in overcoming dry skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal effectiveness of natural ingredients to increase skin moisture in overcoming dry skin. Generally, skin moisturizing cosmetics consist of moisturizing ingredients that can form artificial skin surface fat to flex the dry and rough skin layer, and reduce evaporation of water from the skin. So, there are several natural ingredients that will help moisturize the skin and deal with dry skin.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the difference between the yellow variations on the fly grill on the fly density. This study was carried out through pre-experimental research through a one-shot case study design. Furthermore, this research was conducted at Sambirejo Market, particularly the area that sells meat. In this case, there are 4 measurement points employed. The measurement of fly density was done for 30 seconds with 10 repetitions and each measurement average was determined. Furthermore, the data collected were analyzed using one-way ANOVA test and followed by an LSD test. Based on the research, results were obtained in the form that there was a significant difference between the fly grill and the yellow color variation on the fly density at Sambirejo market (p value = 0.035 < α = 0.05). In addition, there was also a significant difference between the dark yellow and golden fly grills (p value=0.007 < α = 0.05). In this case, the golden yellow fly grill is more effective in measuring the fly density than the dark yellow and light yello. It is further suggested that future researchers will use different bright colors and provide a grease on the surface of the fly grill using materials whose smell is preferred by fly such as meat or fish. Therefore, it will be more attractive for fly to perch.

Abstract

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) is the first treatment for HIV/AIDS cases, it is known to improve the patient's quality of life, but cannot cure HIV infection. HIV is a virus that infects CD4+, this infection can cause cell death. Vaccines are an effort that can prevent infection, but until now an HIV vaccine has not been found, this systematic review was conducted to find out the challenges and developments of HIV vaccines to date, the challenge of developing an HIV vaccine is the ability to induce Broadly Neutralizing Antibodies (bNAbs). The protein subunit vaccine platform developed an Env trimeric mock design to be able to expose the bNAbs epitope, but from various designs it has not been proven successful, trimeric design methods and stabilization and purification strategies greatly affect the quality of Env protein. New strategies have emerged with more modern methods, mRNAs for enhancing expression and self-amplifying alphavirus-derived ones have shown potential in a preclinical assay of the GT-based 60mer eOD-GT8 vaccine to promote GC response and elicit somatic hypermutation, resulting in the VRC01 class bnAbs which are antibodies that most widely used for HIV-1 vaccine efficacy. In addition, targeting dendritic cells with mRNA transfection as a therapeutic therapy offers HIV-specific T cell responses, until now research on dendritic cell vaccines in HIV-1-infected patients is still in the process of optimizing for a stronger and longer-lasting immune response, establishing a control period. the length of viral replication along with eliminating the viral reservoir and factors preventing viral re-emergence, two of which are influential, namely the general condition of the patient (genetic factors and clinical status) and the vaccine product.
