Abstract

Background: Melasma is acquired skin condition characterized by sporadic hyperpigmented macules or patches that affects photo-exposed areas which occur chronically. Melasma seriously impairs a patient’s quality of life. Current treatments for melasma include hydroquinone, corticosteroids, retinoids, natural substances, and triple combination creams (TCC), which demonstrate variable efficacy and side-effect profiles. Melasma can now be treated with tranexamic acid (TA), a well-known anti-fibrinolytic drug. Oral, topically applied, and procedural techniques were used to administer TA. Purpose: This review evaluating the efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid to hydroquinone and triple combination cream in the treatment of melasma and suggests steps that need to be taken to mainstream TA use in clinical settings. Review: Among the recent melasma treatments are including hydroquinone (HQ), triple combination topicals, and regular use of broad-spectrum sunscreen. .1 Because plasmin has been shown to have melanogenic properties, tranexamic acid (TA) is an essential therapy option for melasma due to its anti-plasmin (and consequently anti-fibrinolytic) properties. Recent research has shown that melasma-affected skin has enhanced vascularity and VEGF expression in the epidermis, suggesting yet another method by which TA may treat melasma clinically. Conclusion: The review revealed that a combination of tranexamic acid and hydroquinone has better efficacy in treating melasma rather than hydroquinone alone. Oral tranexamic acid combined with TCC can prevent recurrence and sustain the outcome.

Abstract

Background: During this postpartum period, the postpartum mother will experience many changes in her body, one of which is uterine involution, which is the process of the uterus returning to its normal state as before pregnancy. The reduction in the size of the uterus in the puerperium lasts for approximately 6 weeks, but it can be balanced even faster by doing routine postpartum exercises. Postpartum gymnastics is an exercise that will be able to help return the uterus to a normal state such as before pregnancy after giving birth, so that blood flow can increase and also be smooth, so that this puerperal exercise can affect the uterine shrinkage process. With postpartum exercise, the mother will be given some useful movements to tighten the muscles, especially the abdominal muscles, knees, buttocks, and legs. where these movements are able to help the uterus return to its normal state so that it is faster. During pregnancy and childbirth, a mother will experience many changes in her body, such as the abdominal wall becomes loose, the vaginal opening loosens and the pelvic floor muscles loosen. For this reason, postpartum gymnastics is useful to be able to overcome all the changes that arise after giving birth. Aim : To examine more deeply the knowledge of postpartum mothers on the application of postpartum gymnastics which is in accordance with previous studies by reviewing several studies Method: This review uses several sources including computerized systematic search studies taken over the last five years. The articles obtained in a search are 32 journals, then after doing a deeper study and specified with titles totaling 10 journals with 5 national journals and 5 international journals. The keywords in finding a literature review search were "pregnant women", "postpartum mothers", and "postpartum exercise". Results: After giving birth, a mother will experience many changes physically due to a series of deliveries, the postpartum exercise program itself exists to be able to help post-delivery pregnant women to be able to recover back to normal.

Abstract

Escherichia coli is one of the opportunistic pathogenic that occupies the highest position causing the incidence of UTI. Fimbriae, particularly type 1 and P fimbriae, are the most commonly implicated bacterial cell surface virulence factors. The production of ESBL and virulence factors in E.coli bacteria causes chronicity, persistence, and recurrence of infections that cause high morbidity and mortality. Therefore, this study was conducted to explain the relationship between ESBL production and its virulence factors in E.coli bacteria. The design of this research is analytically observational with a cross-sectional approach conducted from March to May 2021. A total of 40 E. coli strains were isolated and collected from urine samples of UTI patients who were admitted to the hospital. in a private Hospital in Banyumas Region in Central Java, Indonesia. The HiChrome ESBL Agar Base media was used to screen for ESBL-Producing E. coli. Identification of firmA and papC genes was performed by using the PCR method. All urine samples diagnosed with UTI were examined for ESBL production. As many as 25% of E.coli were ESBL-production. All isolates showing positive E.coli ESBL results were then analyzed for fimA and papC genes using the PCR method. The results obtained 100% fimA gene and 80% papC gene. The conclusion is that there is a strong relationship between ESBL production with fimA and papC genes.

Abstract

Background: Ameloblastoma is the most common benign epithelial odontogenic tumor with malignant potential and is usually located in the jaw. It constitutes about 1-3% of all tumors and cysts of jaws. This entity has a very high recurrence rate of over 50% even after wide excision. Preoperative diagnosis of ameloblastoma can be made by fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) which is used as a guide for surgical planning. Case report: We report a case of a tumor in the mandible of a 41-year-old man with a preoperative diagnosis of ameloblastoma from a fine needle aspiration biopsy. Cytological examination of FNAB was confirmed by histopathological preparation of tumor tissue. Conclusion: The fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology is a reliable procedure for the pre-operative diagnosis of ameloblastoma. Pre-operative diagnosis of ameloblastoma can be used for planning therapy and early diagnosis of recurrence cases that can improve patient survival
